No. He's that addicted to the "power." The respect and admiration that comes WITH the job. Dedication is what you have to NOT get fired. He obviously didn't have real dedication, or they wouldn't have fired him.
Couple of things: 1 he said he was a reserve officer which would mean he worked a few hours a month as an on-duty officer to keeps his police commission. 2 He still had all of his department issued gear, including uniforms, gun and police commission, which the department will usually confiscate when they fire an officer. 3. off-duty security details for officers are typically arranged weeks in advance, so in theory this job could been set up long before he was terminated. 4. How was he terminated but still retained all of the department issued items? At the very least his department would have confiscated the gun, badge, and police ID immediately upon termination. 5 something about the "he was fired a week ago" story is odd. If he was telling the truth about working reserve then maybe he hadn't worked on-duty for over a week and never knew he was fired, and the agency never got a hold of him to tell him to turn in his stuff, so he's out there carrying on business as usual.
Also when the arresting officer spoke to the workers he decided to leave out the fact he was let go/terminated and instead went on as if he was not a cop or sworn peace officer at all and was lying about where he worked..
the way he reacted when they told him that, he knew he was fired. he didnt try to really dispute it, if he didnt know he was fired he would of been way more confused
This is an odd one. He really had been a certified police officer. When I separated from the military I didn't know what to do with myself for a little while. My identity had to radically change, and some people, like this guy, handle it poorly.

@@mrhairypalm5006 yes and that is key. He was apparently certified and not employed. Here in Kentucky where I'm from and where I live it's pretty routine to have police officers perform this kind of function off duty and like most states a peace officer is a peace officer regardless if they're on the clock at their agency or not but yes the key is they have to be employed by an agency but I will say that this does not seem to be the overt impersonation that we typically see
He seems like a guy who has let his financial situation get really tight. He lost his job as a reserve officer, and used his ID and badge etc to get this job. It seems to be strictly for the money. I kinda feel for him. The finances are probably self inflicted problems, but from what I am seeing he just wanted a paycheck, not the worst thing in the world. @@smashbro713 well what this person is saying is that the 'job' of directing traffic for this construction crew did not exist. Not that he was never an officer.
@Marquis912 i doubt the impersonating a police officer charge will stick if he has a real paid Lawyer, the cop approached him because he's black, the cop wouldn't have approached a white guy dressed in uniform at a construction site, cops usually leave each other alone.
Whilst I know circumstances are different but my uncle is a retired sheriff's deputy. He was allowed to keep his badge and uniform also he "bought" his service pistol from them for $1. I guess if you're out of town when they fire you they can't exactly take the uniform and ID from you.
@SwingingCreeper A clothing allowance from the department which means the tax payers. YOU don't buy it, the tax payers give YOU that clothing allowance to purchase it. It's not like it was YOUR money guy.
2 of the jurisdictions I worked, we had a huge turnover of dirty officers and check in officers (go to academy and not complete or resign during field training) and had an issue with turning in dept issue…Then created a contract they sign at pre-service for 3 years of service befor they can lateral to another agency (unless that agency wants to “buy out” the contract for training and keeps our budget alive) and then also states that upon resignation or termination you can not use your credentials or insignia after such, but have 30 days to return issue before prosecution (which is what local FOP agreed with)
This dude is actually a certified police officer who was removed from reserve status. The arresting cops just are angry because him doing traffic in their town cuts into their overtime gigs.
"That's not a thing." ... You mean municipal police roving all around the state in uniform, performing traffic control far away from their supposed commissioned jurisdiction?
@@fyt54321 In some states, actually in many (for states sworn officer's) "jurisdiction" is mainly for handle or areas of control/jurisdiction is boundaries or city's/county's which a particular department has contracted with. Here in California and in many other state's...law enforcement officer's/Deputy's/etc., are all state P.O.S.T. certified and can enforce any state laws (besides fish and wildlife), anywhere in the state, on or off-duty. So even if you're an LAPD officer...you could arrest someone while visiting San Francisco, for example. Or say you're a motor officer for a county Sheriff's Department, but you live in the next county over...you could still pull someone over and give them a citation or arrest them...even though you're in a different county. In fact we often have pursuits and narcotics cases that span multiple counties and many different jurisdictions/agencies work together and fortunately all departments can communicate with each other. Nevada even allows CHP to enter their state and recognize POST, so when pursuits end-up going cross-border you can remain in the pursuit. I could give more examples of what I'm trying to explain, but I think you get it or if you know, you know, lol. I have seen some southern State's where jurisdiction means jurisdiction and I've seen a Sheriff be placed under arrest for stopping a DUI suspect in the county next door to where he is the Sheriff, like the actual Sheriff. He was arrested for stopping a drunk driver...because the other county's Sheriff didn't like him and had previously asked him and his deputy's NOT to enforce laws or stop people of his county. So it can get ugly, but generally law enforcement works well interagency and even across state lines.
As a Reserve, he is only allowed to work traffic jobs and report to the office at least one hour a month. Therefore, it's possible for him to move around with a work crew throughout the state. A real cop would not have acted so subdued and given their ID to another officer. That's not going to happen.
don't feel bad for a criminal, regardless of his situation. he knew he was fired. he knew he was not allowed to wear the badge and uniform. he chose to do it anyway. he deserves everything that is coming at him.
I’m a Retired Sheriff- I’ve seen several smaller departments that had reserves that weren’t accounted for. They would go months without working a shift. I had one small town that gave the town mayor a radio and badge. He would drive around his personal vehicle and respond to calls with the other reserves. I had my guys out and end to that quick. 😂 If he still has his ID card and uniforms- I could actually find what he’s saying believable.
There was a reserve guy in my area that would go to just about every local bar to show his badge and gun as a pickup line. Maybe you remember after 9/11 some small towns picked up extra reserves. I think it was called the Terrorist Task Force or something. Really they were around to help direct traffic and people after any sort of event. So these volunteer fireman and such would sign on. This guy took it WAY too far and liked to tell everyone how important he was. He had lights on his truck as well. It was ridiculous. He would bother and harass women constantly. Especially younger women. Eventually everyone started to tell him off and remind him he wasn't actually a cop. I'm sure there were plenty of complaints about the guy.
This one is in a different league compared to the real bad creepers. This guy just got fired, is just trying to work within his circumstances and is just waving traffic on. I feel for him
You know this actually got me thinking that if this man was terminated just a week ago - he truly may have not been aware of it. He was a part-time reservist officer. Most of the time these guys don't have set shifts and just pick up here and there. If he hadn't picked up in a while some places take that as your resignation and will terminate you. So he may not really have known. Just a different perspective on it
I'm pretty sure thats not how that works, you dont just be like "Man, i feel like being a Cop today" and then walk around directionless. If you start a Shift, you most likely have to check in, the usual Deal with how every normal Job works, unless youre self employed.
It’s funny how the cop says if he would of been straight up with him from the beginning things would of been different like how different by putting the cuffs in front of him than behind his back lol

He got terminated, knew he got terminated, and still used his former position to get employment with a construction company. It makes me wonder what he got terminated for. Most departments are short handed. I can’t see him getting terminated unless it was for something very bad.
Nah, we have a better imitation DeWitte than this guy. This other dude is actually running a funeral escort service of his own called Metropolitan something-or-other. He even has some kind of youth cadet program. It's like ROTC but instead of the Army or Air Force, you just get commissioned as a knuckle-dragging public nuisance when you graduate!
Well, a fake cop can't take you to jail, or even arrest you without being exposed. All they could do is give you hell and harass you. Also a fake cop may not realize another fake cop in the first place. So if you were a fake cop, you could easily lie and get away with what you doing by tricking another fake cop. Only Jeremy Dewitte would be dumb enough to arrest and take them to jail and get himself arrested when they both get into the jail to book the guy.
Credit the arresting officers for giving courtesy to allow this guy who once was a former police officer to take off anything that said police. Being arrested and sitting in a holding cell with criminals could wind up bad.
Common sense will tell you that removing any police-affiliated gear would be policy and not done out of kindness and concern for his well-being. If wearing police gear is a violation of the law, then the police need to put an end to the violating of the law before they continue on to transporting him. Leaving it on him would be like arresting two guys for getting into a fight but allowing them to continue punching each other the whole car ride.
This is sort or weird, it really isn't a "fake" cop, the guy was "terminated" like 10 days ago, he said he was put on reserves. Good chance that is correct, and he is showing up in the computer as terminated through a mistake of some form. Also possible he didn't know he was terminated, he could have been put on reserves, got a call for this job, a few weeks before, they don't schedule these same day... and the guy went to the scheduled job.
He really was a certified officer just recently unemployed. He should have been straight forward telling them he is working as a private contractor self employed for this particular job and that should have been sufficient. They tried to embarrass him like he was lying about everything. Bro, they simply didn't want you there. It didn't take 2 police squad officers to do this. They hungry and bored.
They profiled him, I work construction and we use off duty officers. We use a company who supplies officers from all over the state. They just wanted to mess with him

I wonder if he was on the road with these guys for a week or more and thought he was still employed. Maybe I just try too hard to find the good in people.
I have seen a lot of construction sites (Michigan) and have never seen a cop directing traffic for one. There's usually a man to hold the sign that tells you what to do. I'm sure there could be states that have police show up if there's a PROBLEM on a construction site that would require supervision etc but I really can't imagine a police station sending their officer on a week long assignment to help a road crew. I try to find the good in people too and I'm sure this man might have some good in him but this was not wise.
"Man, my leg really hurts. Would you mind if we dispense with this whole 'impersonating a police officer' thing and you just let me go home and soak it in epsom salt?" "Sure, man. No worries. Don't pull anyone over on the way home, though, ok?" "No worries. Much appreciated."
I kind of feel bad for this guy. It sounds like it is possible that he didn’t know he was terminated. He might have been acting in good faith. Plus, he was just out directing traffic. Not pulling people over. It’s hard to hate on a guy for trying to do a days work and earn a buck. I hope things turned out okay for him.
No he knew damn well he was terminated but he needs the money so he decided to take jobs under false circumstances. He knows, they know, we all know that the department is not aware he's taking jobs outside of the dept without their knowledge
Title needs a change to “former cop” or “former officer” he’s literally not a fake cop if he was trained as a cop. I’m a soldier (Army), a bladesmith, and a welder. Just because I’m not currently being paid to do those things doesn’t make the reality of my skill sets go away. I am still all of those things. And for the Karen’s, obviously he needs to be charged with impersonation, you don’t get to keep practicing a trade after being fired at that location but it doesn’t make him not a cop, he could have just applied elsewhere and he’d have been fine.
Hes displaying himself as a police officer in a jurisdiction he had ZERO authority , even if he was a real police officer still, thats 100 percent FAKING being a police officer, experience doesnt mean shit lmao

I don't normally feel bad for the phonies in these impersonation cases, but I felt for this man. I feel awful for this ex-Officer. I'm hoping we hear some info on why he was fired. (I couldn't hear much during all the jackhammering going on 😂) It seems to me that being a Police Officer became his whole identity & his world. From what I understand, when you don that badge, it's not just a 9-5 deal, but you're expected to uphold certain standards 24/7. He still could have worked that job directing traffic as he knew all the laws ect. My late husband did that job & he was no Cop, nor was he a Security Guard. I wish the old gentleman well and I hope he finds happiness in his future endeavors.
So he’s not a fake cop. He is a former cop. That’s not the same…. I’ve seen 4 videos now that were the exact same. They all start with police “getting a call” about a police officer working some private security detail for road work. 100% of the time the police are confused because “we usually get all these contracts, so it’s strange that someone else would be working here instead of us” It blows my mind that police are allowed the conflict of interest of being the only ones who do private security for road construction….. And it seems like they enforce their private matters publicly. This seems like a very straight forward conflict of interest and is laden with the appearance of impropriety.
Fit in? He WAS a cop a week before this lol. They probably didn’t call him to tell him he was fired so they could do it in person ensuring they could collect his gear/gun from him.
He's trying to keep his house as he said. He needs the money, he's not doing this for fun. Don't be so quick to judge, point fingers and laugh at others struggle. You can find yourself in the same boat, the universe will humble you up quick. Nobody is immune from struggle in life.
Feel like there is something more going on here, dude wasn't just out directing traffic, he was trying to collect a pay cheque. Right or wrong, this seems slightly different.
He messed up when he lied about still being an active officer, if he hadn't done that he probably would have been alright but that one lie turned it into felony impersonation
@@Lilith-Rose highly doubt he was charged with a felony, most of these guys even the really bad ones serve no jail time. It's the police gear that incriminates him, not the lies
@@raiden031 charges vs sentence are very different things, and although the uniform along with directing traffic qualifies as impersonation actively staying that you are an officer is irrefutable proof of impersonation and is a step above acting as a police officer. @@mrhairypalm5006 yes and that is key. He was apparently certified and not employed. Here in Kentucky where I'm from and where I live it's pretty routine to have police officers perform this kind of function off duty and like most states a peace officer is a peace officer regardless if they're on the clock at their agency or not but yes the key is they have to be employed by an agency but I will say that this does not seem to be the overt impersonation that we typically see
He was a reserve police officer. Meaning he had no law enforcement duties, except directing traffic at some event like a fair.
Still impersonating an officer once your fired you can’t have a badge on!!!! 😂
"Sir, that's not a police ID, that's a geodude Pokemon card."
He seems like a guy who has let his financial situation get really tight. He lost his job as a reserve officer, and used his ID and badge etc to get this job. It seems to be strictly for the money.

@@fyt54321 Not that in particular, but one specific officer who follows one specific construction crew wherever they go.
As a Reserve, he is only allowed to work traffic jobs and report to the office at least one hour a month. Therefore, it's possible for him to move around with a work crew throughout the state. Really ? Had no Idea he was fired ? I’ve got some waterfront property for you.
Im a LEO and just because a person is State Certified doesn't mean their a police officer. It means they have the certification to be hired as a police officer in that state.
This takes some serious balls. But what's the point? He loves standing next to a jackhammer for hours on end? Just can't let go of the job? If it's that, I sort of feel bad for him. Maybe like his wife died and he doesn't know how to keep himself busy now that he's alone and jobless. I'm just glad he didn't bust it out that it's messed up the legit cops are messing with a current Super Duper Special SEAL Ranger Green Beret with Presidential Medals of Honor from every one since Jimmy Carter.
hes a sad pathetic "man" with a desire to exert power over people. we are lucky he was caught before he hurt someone
@@KD-wy2cc I got zero vibe that he was out to hurt anyone.
He gets paid being with them by the construction company.
@@busterthe2 you are? I was in Law Enforcement. You can take on jobs that hire police officers when they’re not on duty. They also literally say it at the end that he was hired by the construction company. Dummy
It’s a well paying cushy job where he’s unlikely to get shot at but gets paid like he might.
He’s not a fake cop. A fake cop is someone impersonating that was never on the job. He’s a retired or unemployed cop.
bs. he is a fake cop. he doesn't work for any police department, so he has no business impersonating an officer. don't apologize for criminals like him.
A retired cop acting a employed and active cop is surely not a real cop 🤔
What are you 12? If you are fired as a police officer. You are no longer a police officer regardless if you are retired or fired.
I can't imagine why they terminated him..
You’re a goofy
Why impersonate if you're not getting paid? I wish I could find guys who work for Free!!
2:01 this is where he got to cocky when he thinks he fell for the lie 😂
I feel bad for him.
Imagine being so dedicated to your job, you're still doing it 10 days after being terminated, and in a total other city...clearly the man was born to project and swerve...😂
Gee, I wonder why he was terminated. 🤔
I like to know that too😂😂
They probably assigned him office duty but he kept appearing on the streets
