haha truly a good goal. Good for. you looking to be helpful even when it's out of your comfort zone. You certainly can't go wrong with those camping views. It was cool to share some of your story! It's similar to mine and to Andy's. There's nothing like living the life you have so specifically chosen and worked for.
before I got married I asked my fiance if she liked camping. She said she loved camping. I said I hate camping. I can't sleep on the ground after doing that during my tour in Vietnam. I feel like the sky is pressing in on me. I don't like the dark in the outdoors. I think it's a mild PTSD. I don't like to sleep in the car (we had a van). After being married and having 4 kids, who all loved camping with their mom, I used to stay until everyone fell asleep then I'd leave and sleep in my bed and return the next morning. My wife really loved camping, even going so far as staying alone. Well, not really alone as we only camped at a place called police beach, where a policeman and his family stayed in a house at the maincamp site for security.
Thanks for sharing the story. Completely understandable why you don't like camping. That's great you and your wife were able to find the balance that worked for your family.

I have been on Kauai a week ago❤ Kauai is the best place where I have been ever
Hi Joanna! I like when you make longer videos, I like when you talk about finding yourself, what you are doing can be scary for some people, you are very brave, 😊
Props Joanna. I remember camping, as a teen. It was a extended family event. Can't say that I would be comfortable to camp in my 60's. Hope you had fun ❤
Camping as a kid drove me nuts cause I hated when the other kids came in the tent with sand on their feet. LOL. Other than that was fun. Bonfires…fishing…dancing…singing. Oh the memories. Good job “helping” set up your friends tent. 😄
I moved to Hawaii in 1988, having worked in the film industry (Universal, PBS-LA, Paramount), but hated soulless LA, then freelanced writing for magazines out of San Francisco before being assigned to Hawaii for a year. I never left. Where was your camping ground? I camped on Kauai at a magical quiet spot in Anahola.
❤ That you gave it a go.🏕️ They set that tent up incorrectly. The tent rain fly pole was left out. That makes a huge difference. Hope it did not rain ☔️ on you.
"Too much pride growing up in Hawaii?!"...First time in hearing that.IMO...If you have little/no pride in where you live/grew up, you're a rudderless sailboat drifting in the wind, surf & tide on the Ocean of Life. You need to be anchored, to be able to put down roots...Matt. 14:22-31
Joanna....Maybe the reason you moved here is that there was something inside your na'au(guts) telling you to Slow down (Take your time do it right!)like song lyrics say. Difference btwn mainland people & people in Hawaii aren't really concerned much about what's happening around us as much as what's happening within...STOP! And smell the roses once in awhile.....

That ending was so real. Thanks for taking us on your journey, Joanna!
Thank you, Kristen! Appreciate you watching

Love how we have similar stories, Rachel (and Andy)! Cheering you on in your journey! Keep going & inspiring others.
Good for you!! I admire your stepping out of your comfortzone. I couldn't do it. I need a bed, a fan, a real toilet, a shower and a/c.
Yes, I prefer all those things too 🤓
I love these vlogs. I can’t wait to see more.
Thank you! More to come 🤓🤓

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, these longer videos take much more time to make, though I'll continue to do them 👍
I was in Kauai in 1977. It was the least crowded island and refreshing. Good luck in your vendure❤🎉
Thank you!
Looks like Anini beach ♥️
Yes, you called it!

It will be fun…,and enjoy nature and solidarity ❤

Awesome video 💯
Thank you!
Kauai is a beautiful island. I remember that it was very muddy and that red dirt stains everything.
Yes, very beautiful… and very rainy 😃
I have never been to the islands.
I’m stuck in Jersey like a fool. God bless you enjoy.
Sending Aloha your way
God bless you and your career. You have a lot of heart to make major changes in your life. God bless next 100 years.

Thankfully, it didn’t rain 🙏🏽
Your chirashi and inari lunch looks like Konohiki's 😍
Yessss.... so good!
Omg the ad for this vlog was RAID…..lol for those cockaroaches!
You’re not completely unplugged. You’re video recording yourself. Go completely unplugged. That is refreshing
Wow cool!!!
Thanks!
My idea of roughing it is no room service at the hotel
😂
Kaua’i (cow-uh-ee). Love your personality, funny video.
Thanks for watching
Looks fun
🤓🤓
What campground is this can’t find it anywhere ???
good lunch conversations
👍🏽👍🏽
I don’t like camping much unless I go with my friends 😂
I feel you. I would never willingly go by myself haha
Rule number one, never put up a tarp or cover. It curses the rain to come lol ..but have them just incase.
Haha... 😂
Hawaii ❤ life is made up of experiences
