You can burn pine indoors, that's an old wive's tale. There's been multiple studies you can look up, cresote build up is from wet wood not pine vs hard wood. You do get more BTUs out of hardwood.(all would creates creosote, but wet wood creates more)

I think it has something to do with a septic system, which at the off-grid cabin doesn't exist. The house is right next to the stream/river so that's why the town officials are being so hardcore. Also, in Massachusetts you need a certificate of occupancy before you live full time in a dwelling which you almost never get if you have no electricity at all.

That's pretty much all we burn in our wood stove, but we do let it sit to dry out for 2-3 years. I'm looking forward to watching more videos.

Question, do you ever struggle with chronic fatigue with all the work you do throughout the day? I've considered switching to this more off-grid lifestyle but I have a chronic illness and majorly struggle with chronic fatigue and worry it'll be really hard to keep up with these daily tasks. But I also want to experiment being more disconnected from society to regulate my nervous system, lower my stress, and not be exposed to as many toxins and processed food.

This batter operated chainsaws are WORTHLESS. I burned thru 3 of them, Amazon refunding $$$ of each. Then went with Stihl, but had 20" bar replaced with 16" (less weight to handle!)!
