Seeing her dance the baby doll back at you was super cool
I think the dancing actually was Barnaby haha, I was suspicious at how good it was and you can tell by the sleeves of the sweatshirt
@@hjewkes Ah. Well, it's a lovely image, at least 😂
She killed that doll
i love seeing the next generation getting inspired (little girl puppeteering her baby doll).
That hat can be described as nothing short of an absolute “doohickey”
I laughed out loud when I saw the hat contraption, it looks so janky and silly but if it works it works!
05:25 Does, anyone else kinda want him to give the puppet a selfie stick so it looks like the puppet is doing the video themselves using this rig?
OHHH great idea but it would never be able to support it… basically it’s going to end up as a selfie stick strapped to Barnaby’s hand and the motion sway will be worse
@@francisschweitzer8431 It wont take any of the weight of the camera, I was thinking a long wire from the puppet's hand that just slips through a loop taped to the camera mount so it can slide freely but still look like the rod is connected to the camera
Could work, depends whether it looks convincing (since keeping the camera relative to the hand might be harder)
i love how whenever i watch him even after years he always finds new ways to improve and stay creative.
The girl puppeteering her baby doll in tune with his puppet was unbelievably endearing and sweet. I have questions why her doll slammed face-first against the wall though 🤣🤣
That's just children for ya :D
Y'know, I bet she was trying to do the cartoon trope where someone runs away so blindly that they run into a wall like a fool 😂
I was watching and thinking a chin strap might work for the hat 🤔 would give you a TON more stability especially for you "jump" tracking. Either way, so cool.
Your life size girl puppet handling a smaller baby puppet is amazingly realistic.
Potential protégé there!
Love the camera and looking forward to seeing what you can do with it!
Minus the motion sickness, of course.
When I worked on a gig doing something similar (not puppets but POV360) we ended up mounting the camera to a baby carrier to move the weight from the head and neck to the back and shoulders. We got a significantly steadier shot because of this.
There are already Gopro chest mounts which may also work for what you need.
these jams be good jams
I love seeing the creative solutions you come up with!
The exponential evolution of technology never ceases to amaze me. Cool to see such a fun use of it! Best of luck with your projects 🍀
It's one thing to be skilled in something, but Barnaby is on a whole other level as a constant innovator in everything he does.
Next level! This is super promising, you’ll be able to do so much with this rig 🎉
I pretty strongly dislike the effect 360 cameras give to footage. They allow you to do some different things than regular cameras, but they're also pretty limiting from a cinematography/creative perspective. Everything off of a 360 camera looks like an action cam, and in this test, you subject was always centered while the background was busy and moving, which put focus in the wrong place.
just found this channel again after so long im so excited to rewatch everything
(Dhwani )
Can you tell me that how you make your dog puppet spring ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ please 🙏🏻 tell me ❤❤❤
Dabchick never dies😢😢
it's a bit woozy but a really cool effect.
Dabchick never come
Amazing!
It's a cool Video I love it
I love you sharing your process. It is always inspiring.
I love your puppets your Works awesome and the hairy neon boy it's always one of my favorites. I did find myself laughing once or twice, your Knuckles hanging between your puppets legs came off as looking very testicle like a couple of times😅
You beat me to it! :)
I lurve me a good Barnaby constructing shit video. Your creativity and ability to just MAKE IT WORK is always and enjoyable process to watch.
That hat looks bonkers mate
Thats amazing
Complete that look with your favorite pastry dangling from the end😉❤ ...future pupperteer🌞
You like building things like my roommate as well as gadgets but your innovation never fails to impress!
A Bicycle helmet might work since you could strap it on and be more stable.
AMAZING!! great job! and I cant wait for Dabchick's return! you are so talented, been watching your vids for years! ❤❤❤😊
I just made my first puppet inspired by your work! It's nowhere near as good as what you can do, but I'll get there.
Just a quick observation...the pink puppet has some "Pom Poko" magic vibes going..if you catch my drift. LOL!
Camera puppeteer and puppet operator
If you haven't already, I can see you investing in one of those neck massagers fairly soon lol.
But in all seriousness, this seems like a solid start. I'm sure you'll learn to adjust movements for those with a tendency of motion sickness, but otherwise the camera looks like a winner.
Your voice is a mix of Matt Bellamy and Danny Elfman! Please sing some Phantom of the Opera!!! I would have it on repeat 24/7 and so would a million other people!!!❤❤❤❤❤
You should totally do a collaboration with @Felix Colegrave

**Abstract**
This video explores the use of 360° cameras to improve puppeteering videos. The author discusses the benefits of 360° cameras, such as retroactive camera tracking and dynamic zooming, compared to traditional fixed camera setups or relying on a cameraperson. The author experiments with using a 360° camera attached to a custom hat rig for hands-free filming, demonstrating its potential for capturing puppeteering performances.
**Keywords:** puppeteering, 360° camera, video production, camera techniques
Hey can you make dabchick: dabchick VS water bottle
I love how the hat let's you introduce new angles of the puppets and your piloting of them...
Yo! It's been a while since I watched your videos since when I was a child but you have to bring back dabchick doing normal/unusual or just hanging out with him. I miss that content of yours (・∀・)
Will you make more singing video and can you make a larger Dabchick now that would be pretty cool ❤❤❤❤❤
Adapting a Flycam Body rig to the 360 project will allow greater range of motion in performances and overall user comfort. Not to mention reducing neck injury! Thanks for the progress update. Cheers
@barnabydixon what you need is Third-Person Backpack Mount Rig for the camera to allow more freedom of moment and have your back to support the weight instead of your head.
Great Idea but the execution is way off… and you said what it is… SWAY. You need a chest/ shoulder rig where you can extend a boom big enough to support a gyroscopic steady mount. That SWAYING is going to ruin it.
Could I suggest a song to make a story from? Jasper and the Miners by Paul Siebel, I think, would be good.
I just got the insta360 a couple of weeks ago, to capture the upcoming solar eclipse in my area and for educational content. It’s fascinating what it can do, but I have SO much to learn. I’ve been watching lots of tutorials of creative ways it can be utilized. I like the counter-weight hat contraption…very creative. I’m are you get a lot of looks from wearing it. 🤣
Barnaby could take my firstborn child in return for his skill
Mate, I just saw you wearing the Dabchick logo on your sweater - have you done a t-shirt yet?
I want one, so much that I'm likely to make my own. It's the simplest of designs (your logo does all the work), if you haven't done one yourself let me know and you can have mine - though I'd feel like I'm insulting you because it's just the logo on a t-shirt.
I love how your puppets are, your imagination is incredible, I saw a few videos about your puppets when I was young but I had never found your channel. Now I want to try to create something like this :]
fish eye combined with the movement makes it look incredibly unnatural - particularly with big jumps in position where the camera angles downwards before A) the camera stays looking at a down angle or B) the camera bounces and finds the centre.
It’s amazing! Question, I’m making a searching before building my first puppet or marionette to be a small character on a table for youtube (it needs to be small). It should be faster than animate paper cut stop motion. what is the terms of use of this two hands puppet design?
Barnaby, did anyone ever tell you that your creations are in its core essense, SPORE creatures? they are all amazing tho and if Spore and maxis would still exist, i would love to play the hell out of a Dabchick run haha
How Are you make the pink puppet, It's Looking amazing!
I know this is my fault for watching everything at 2x speed but the lens and the tracking are so difficult for me to watch.
I understand that you want to be as unbiased as possible when getting new gear but if you want to go the sponsored route you would most likely have no problem getting sponsored by for example Insta360 with any gear you need for your productions.
Welp, I know what I’m building then
That so cool! I really think you very clever figuring out how to balance the camera and the weight.
can u mace so we can dawnload the puppit models? (im bad at englich)
Im sorry but the "small test" looks like a really good 3d platformer and now i want to play it but its not real and im sad
You've discovered some game-changing tech! So cool!
The footage from this new camera feels very grainy.
Can you show us how you made the puppets in the 1 million subscriber special
This is a game changer! It amazes how innovative you are, Barnaby!
With the 360° cam it should also be possible to sort of switch to the “puppets point of view”, see the the thing they are reacting to then cut to the puppet reacting.
Great video man,I think the long jumps feel a bit unnatural
It looks as though you’re inspiring the young girl…great job!
If you put the camera straight on the pole the pole will disappear completely out of the shot because it’s in the dead zone between the two lenses (:
cool effect for the occasional shot, but the dynamic wide angle stuff did bring on a little motion sickness. I don't think I could watch an entire video of hat cam wide angle footage
Cool video. Love to see the progress of the puppets and filming ideas come to life.
😊
I don't knkw whether to call you a puppeteer or an engineer anymore. Puppet Engineer?
I don't know how well it works, but if you can use post editing to get rid or just reduce of the fish eye lens I think if would good.
Amazing, I love your videos. Also the behind the scenes ones like this one
Motion sickness indeed, but very cool concept, will be fun to see when you get more used to it :D
So cool. I love seeing the process, it makes me appreciate your work even more!
1 hand, 2 hands, now 2 hands and head. You're going to run out of extremities to use
What materials do you use for these things?
Stop what you are doing! Barnaby uploaded!!
please release the music from this video! i have it playing on repeat
eta: if this is a cover, could someone please tell me the name of the original song?
Can people buy these puppets on a store? Because I really want puppets like this.
Why pray tell does barnaby dixon look like tom holland with a beard
Save Dabchick!!
This is so cool Barnaby.
4:38 jigsaw falling into place vibes
4:45 nice subtle Radiohead mention
Baby baby time warp and yes I'm a backer on patreon
I'm too HYPED!!!!! WOOOOO! Lets go!!!!
The 360 vision makes me dizzy
I love the goofy goober puppet your using
You cunning little Vulcan!
That little guy walk so silly
so cool!
The bug puppet… I call it the Buppet
Or the hat...chinstrap!
He's got the spyro horns
I'd put a chin strap on the cam cap. It may help keep away cricks in your neck and shoulder
I used to be friends to a mascot , aka body puppet ( a rodent at a pizza place). The chin strap does help in managing the stress of extra weight on your head. You still need to be cognizant of over doing it of course, motion injuries are not fun. The mascots head had a steel armature attached which is what I thought of when I saw your camera rigging. In my case it was screwed to a street hockey helmet and it would slip. I can imagine your ball cap wanting to slip.
Pls do how to make a puppet
Pls sell some of these
