Three weeks ago I did swim with the manatees and this was the most fantastic experience I've ever had. One of these gentle animals came so close that I could feel it and a manatee baby came so close with his face that we almost kissed.
If dogs are the friendliest land creatures, then manatees are the friendliest sea creatures.

Why do you have yo keep your feet off the bottom? I'm just curious.
I lived in Florida in 1987-1988 & one came up by me while fishing. Scared me at first but my step dad told me what it was. We didn't harm it of course, just pet it gently and it swam away.

I went here and i was just swimming around gently and quietly like my guide told me to and one floated up under me i was shocked and i cried. I was scared that i’d keep them from getting air so i swam away as fast as possible so they could get air because it was literally underneath me! My guide got upset that i stirred the bottom of the river and scared a few off.

Why do they show someone touching a manatee? On all the sites I've read they stress not to touch manatees. Update the video please.

Its fresh water, no sharks to worry about. The area you swim with manatees is only 5 or 6 feet deep in most parts. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
