The 291st Engineer Combat Battalion broke the point of the German spear at Lienne Creek. Kampfgruppe Peiper had no viable route across the Meuse River thereafter. Col. David Pergrin, the commander of the 291st Engineers, wrote "Engineering the Victory," which is his account of his battalion's activities in the Battle of the Bulge.
