Van Camping on the Isle of Wight | Island Beach Camp | Hoping to see the Northern Lights

- Bramblehead and I jump in out trusty old VW T4 Campervan to dip our toe into van life. Now the kids are getting older we can start enjoying some time together.
We have some trips in mind, wild camping will still be my main content but there will be some trips with my good lady for good measure, as she doesn't like tents.
We sampled some of the local tourist spots, mainly Culver Down making sure we avoided all the naughtiness
The Isle of Wight is a great place to visit and the Par4night app worked well.

Looked like you two had a good night out. A bigger van would be cool. Maybe you can find one that has an exhaust fan above the bed. 🤣
Lot quieter than a New Forest camp site. On sunny weekends, a New Forest camp site can feel like a refugee camp. And no donkeys raiding your food stores. In 1977 that spot would have given you a good view of the Spithead Review of 180 NATO warships and submarines anchored in the Solent. I saw it on the Lymington ferry which operated as a tour boat through the fleet.

Might take a little longer to cook your scran but you have all the time in the world when camping. It's silent when using the alcohol burner.
I have one dude, air fryer is good for quick meals tho. Less mess

Looked stunning 👍 That "Geezer" sleeping bag, the single one you have is it a 3 season? I need a new down bag, but ideally, 4 season. I'm a tight ar5e and don't want to shell out 200+ for a new one. My trusty OEX Leviathan 900 is now dead after I got it dry cleaned!! And to get a new one again is twice the price I originally paid 😡
Bag does well TBF, a little in the snug side but majority of time I'm using it as a top quilt
Friday night was the night for the Northern Lights. Between 10:30 and midnight was quite spectacular, and that was in the middle of Newport. Went out the back of the island last night and nothing at all. Nice little relaxing vid this time mate. Nice one as usual.
