Today is Mabon and the Autumn Equinox, a beautiful and meaningful time of year and a time full of balance, introspection and change.
In this video I wanted to share some of the hardships Ive been facing as of recently that have impacted my life, but also that I have great hope for a new and fresh beginning.
Im so grateful for all of you wonderful souls being here and thank you as always for such love and support, it means the world to me. This video was a particularly difficult and vulnerable one for me to make, but I also wanted to be honest about how life can be, and how I plan to move forward.

~ Blackberry and Apple Crumble Recipe:
Filling:
-400g berries, frozen or fresh
3 medium apples, chopped
-2 tsp cinnamon
-1 tsp nutmeg
-2 tsp vanilla extract
-bit of oil for cooking down the berries with the spices(I like to use coconut)
For crumble:
-170g plain flour
-100g brown sugar
-100g non dairy butter
-80g rolled oats
Method:
1) Pre heat and oven to 190 C /gas mark 5 and grease a baking tin.
Put the berries, apples and other 'filling' ingredients into a pan and cook for about 10 mins or so on a low - medium heat to get all the spices mixed in. Meanwhile, make the crumble mixture.
2)Put all crumble ingredients into a bowl and mix with your hands until it makes a bread crumb texture.
3)Make a layer of crumble on the bottom of your tin, then pour the berry mixture into the tin and then cover all over with the rest of the crumble mixture making sure its an even layer. Bake for approximately 20-25 mins or until the top of the crumble is golden and enjoy! I like it with a bit of vegan custard!

In this video I wanted to share some of the hardships Ive been facing as of recently that have impacted my life, but also that I have great hope for a new and fresh beginning and that there are so many different things that are bringing me so much joy right now (mostly the children I get to teach and see dialy and also my love for herbs and the craft)
Im so grateful for all of you wonderful souls being here and thank you as always for such love and support, it means the world to me. This video was a particularly difficult and vulnerable one for me to make, but I also wanted to be honest about how life can be, and how I plan to move forward. Im still finding it hard to get in front of the camera propely myself, but I hope I will get to that place again again.

Yes Lika, Heartbreaks are surely hard to get through sometimes and it takes time to heal.... But trust me, as the 60 Year old woman, that I am today, and single for many years now, I can only tell you things WILL get better and you, who are still young and strong I know you will find your way through life in a very near future, a better and even mire wise one ... The world lay before your feet!

Dear Lika, you are wise beyond your years, I must say how proud I am of you and the thoughtful way you encounter changes on a daily basis. You never know your inner strength and feelings until you go through these changes.Making your own way in life and the world, carefully planning and dealing with life in your own way and what lies ahead. Mabon is my favourite time of the year. I find it peaceful and calming with beautiful golden trees, and lots of fruits. The elderberry tree reminds me of my last home which had to be demolished and it had an elderberry tre in the front and back garden. The front tree is sadly no longer there, but the one in the back garden remains for now so the wood pigeons and magpies have at least had a feast this year. I used to watch them from my kitchen window, weighing the tree down and eating the berries as well ad the blackberries , raspberries etc. I only have a blackberry bush in my back garden now where I live and a rowan tree which did not produce any berries this year but has a magpie nest in it. Sometimes we have to count our blessings for what we do have and move forwards . We have wonderful nature and ten minutes by car we have the countryside and I have always loved nature since a child. Walking through the woodlands and fields. Seeing wild creatures occasionally such as weasel s and I saw a red squirrel as a child, I will always cherish that moment. ❤Gill.

Heartbreaks of any kind rock us to our core, however in time we see the light and the start of the new season of our life. I know that for me moving forward slowly at those times of difficulty has made a world of difference. You too are going slowly and adjusting each day to your new season, in time it will become the normal way for you, and new things will delight and bring happiness to you. My mother always told me, each change brings with it a chance to grow more into who we are meant to be, and to embrace it, allow the sadness to slowly fade and then take the new road with confidence. Hi Lika...like the title of this video, I too had to face difficult challenges, while welcoming in the season of autumn. I lost my brother on September 1st!! It took me up until yesterday, to put out my fall decorations. I love this time of year, but no matter how much...I just could not bring myself to really bring it in this year, like I normally do. However, today, I did celebrate Mabon, non the less. It's one of my favorite Sabbats and I know my brother was with me. I hope you continue to find ways to enjoy this season. Hi Lika, I discovered your channel about a month ago and have loved hearing about your perspectives on life and your herbal recipes.
