I live in Texas. After leaving stevens transport, i drove in the oil field moving rigs. It never slows down. If the oil field hits a low, by the time you take the last rig the the yard, the oil field has already started booming again. Hundreds and hundreds or rigs are constantly moving. It's a never-ending cycle. West Texas is a dump, but it's a dump that will make you plenty of money. That's if you don't turn your cash into trash.
From Texas as well, considering Stevens transport all the way..what was it like? I am in the Houston area. I was also considering Prime Inc as well...but I'm still deciding. I have no CDL yet tho...
Only thing about the inward camera i don't like is that i have less visibility of the road ...i guess i have to relocate my gps somewhere else off my view field...any advice?
Good video. Currently not driving but my last company had cameras and it’s no big deal. When I parked and pulled curtains I had privacy. As a driver we can always improve our skills.😎
Hello everyone!!... i just finished my TNT 30k miles with Prime but i need more training in docking specially 90 degrees backing, Question: is there a training program focused in real life docking in any of the terminals ? Im confident in every aspect of trucking except on this matter
I got orientation on January 13 for prime inc Springfield Mo . got my cdl 3 years ago but never used it. Been working retail for 8 years it’s time for a change. Hope I get a good trainer.
Looking forward to the OTR life. Honestly can’t wait. Driving to east coast looks like it going to be difficult at first but over time it will get easier.
I got a coaching from the camera about distracted driving...I was eating and brushing off crumbs from my shirt and pants...had to look down quickly while driving and I heard "distracted driving "....smh
Those cameras It's not like someone is staring a screen watching you 24/ 7 waiting for you to scratch your ass tonsend you a warning or something ...i understand is automated by AI or something, the only reason i think they really will check those video feeds is just in case of a accident or maybe a critical event...i might be wrong but i havent had problem with those cams
@brianhoppenrath8379 yes they can..... if you where drinking water.. but had you not been drinking water you would still get in the accident... well now your guilty... For God sakes a guy was found guilty when a drunk driver hit him!!! Lol
All they have to do is look at the data on how Prime drivers cruise thru city streets to see that’s a bad idea. IMO they should cap the cruise control speed at 58 for company and 62 for lease.
Honestly I’ve never noticed a difference in pay because of how fast my truck go. I’ve had a truck governed at 75, I’ve had one as low as 65. But that’s me. I don’t do the hurry up and wait game. I take my time at everything I do. If I’m one of those drivers that are always in a rush every second of every day then I’m doing something wrong or I’m being ripped off by the company. In the latter, you can’t outwork a bad deal. So I don’t care how fast the truck go. Now I will say that it’s good to have a truck fast because sometimes you can be in a bad area at the wrong time where there’s lots of traffic and you have a driver going 63 and you’re 65. Then when you go to past them they take off as if they’re going 75. Then 5 miles down the road it’s the same thing. Or just to pass someone who is a little slower than you are. Some companies have a setting on their truck that gives you an extra 2 mph for 30 minutes a day for passing other drivers. That should be standard in my opinion across the board.
I know going faster to get places you still get there at same time as going slow but for passing other truck that are governor at 62 or 65 it would make it a little bit safer to pass than riding next to them for 5 miles or just to pass than
@TwiztedD ok , I thought they did not have company drivers anymore , years ago, was that rumor ! I'm with Knight for 11 years , after 10 years with US Xpress .
@@JeremyGriggs-w3y agreed! I didn’t realize how little I actually knew about trucking until I worked at a different company. For me the biggest shock was the pay difference, my first paycheck at the new place was bigger than my best check at prime by a lot, and that was with 3 days of orientation. Prime just works for some people , and if they’re happy and enjoy it good for them.
8 years? Wow Prime must be a keeper!!

What are my possibilities of getting a job with prime if i have 3 months experience dry van otr and only one accident in my recod from 2 years ago?
Should be good
How many trainers are at prime and what are the chances of getting a good one?
We have a ton of trainers
Thanks for the question Justin.

Yes

The inward facing cameras will prove your guilty in an accident thats not your fault. That's why I don't like them.
Camera can’t make you guilty unless you are.
I don't understand the logic

Yeah I can't sleep on a moving truck too...I might get like a half hour to an hour (if I do sleep)...it's hard to sleep on a moving truck bro...smh.😂
That's Facts
I don't know man...I'm deaf and I definitely have no issues sleep well moving truck.. I'm heavy sleeper 😅
I think they should make the cruise control a true 68 and 70 and not just not +5 but leave the pedal alone at 62 and 65

Lease should either be uncapped or the same as company. No logic for anything else
