  • In this video, I reflect on an actual emergency that I had just 1 year ago. I called up Dan Gryder to debrief the flight where I learned many valuable lessons about what I did wrong and how I can be better the next time. Over the past year, I've learned even more lessons and tailor the training I give my students around this to make sure they always know how to make the safest decision possible. Thanks again Dan, I appreciate your time.

I have tremendous respect and gratitude for you, choosing to be a great instructor instead of going to the airlines. We need many more people like you to keep general aviation growing and make safer pilots in both general aviation and commercial aviation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Appreciate it very much. I started this wanting the airlines, now I don't. Maybe some day down the road I'll change my mind again but for now I'm quite happy doing my very best to provide the training that I should've received myself.

Many thanks for this. I’m a student pilot and I am demanding more emergency training. Great that you shared this.

Great video. Does the same thing apply to spin training?

It's great training and I would agree it does but you are much more limited with doing spins based on the aircraft and weight. I personally go to Patty Wagstaff in St Augustine for Basic Aerobatics once a year now and do spin training as a part of that to stay on top of my game. Its never a bad idea to get more training on how to save your life.

Ask the 17 year old girl who lost her right landing gear on her first solo

Exactly. No one trains you for that stuff unfortunately.

Sorry dude. As soon as you said Dan Gryder, I quit watching. He is a huge jerk.

Why did you have to pull DG into it? Lost total interest at that point. Would rather watch paint dry and smell wet feet on homeless people. Vowed to never listen to his voice ever again.
