Marianne and her GAY PANIC outbursts

  • @roshn.i

It's amazing how we start off with only Marianne's head in the shot, she is the painter, in control. Heloise's shot is wide, exposing most of her, the muse under the eyes of the artist. But at the end, Marianne is left feeling vulnerable and exposed, with a wide shot of the painter, as she no longer feels like she has a power over the muse. Heloise's shot is now focused on her head, her face, with a triumphant smile, feeling less vulnerable now

Wow so..deep.. meaningless how the world looks on you but craving the gaze of that one person sees your essence.. beyond the preview everyone, past the surface but plunging beneath the infinitesimal that makes up each intricate part of the being.. reading past the painting to inhale what makes up it's parts.Seeing thru the hue of rainbow colours of an artist stroke, the patience of each line, anxious spacing between each shape colliding in each colour, lathering within the taste of their aura in each drop of paint .lines making love, the expression whimpers in colourful excitement,.seeing the hint of red in yearning gaze..their apprehension cascading shapes of violet, the echos of her heart beat while gravitating towards the blond..sexy how they point small things about each other.. their body under certain situations unaware.. the part when the blond says "you breathe thru your mouth when you are troubled"...sweet like fragrance from an angel trumpet.. appealing and sensual such small things.. chemistry flaming between them..the fire inside of them slowly ascending but both controlling the fluctuations,,like each word exchanged pulled them in a trance.. souls become one.. delicious and feathery while so weighty with savage.

interesting to note that, by this point in the film, it's a fact marianne has already acknowledged within herself, her attraction to heloise (the previous scene is heloise asking marianne about love, a moment marianne later admits was the first time she wanted to kiss heloise/knew she loved her). here, marianne is actually putting herself in a very vulnerable position, but to protect herself, she uses her role as the painter to justify her interest in heloise. when heloise counters marianne's observations with a few of her own, she's returning her affection. in addition to being knocked down a peg, marianne doesn't expect this, and so she's in disbelief by the scene's end.

Can you imagine the awkward blazing tension in that room between them as they both continue to stare at each other during the rest of the session? Phewwww. I bet Marianne, like a minute later, makes an excuse to get some water or something from the kitchen to escape herself and Heloise because she's unable to compose herself anymore haha.

Inhale the strokes, feel the words, seeing the music in the pull to someone.. only responding to them, your body in tune to every small detail of them, to a point where they are your muse in everything you do, you hum a tune you taste them, you hear a song their energy floats to mind. You see an art piece , the small things about the taste of their souls color is do heightened that the whole atmosphere is kissed by it , seeping inside your soul and exhaled dancing like aroma in the Galexy.. the trilogy of art beating in love and expressed in sweetness so good you can't get enough of an individual.. even when they make you angry you can't help but think of the fine details of their voice or laugh or giggles in the most simplest thing...oh my..

Just found this film while stumbling through Hulu. Possibly the most beautiful film I have seen and these women are all this film needs. Loved how they all looked out and after each other. Oppression dictates what will happen but we get to live these days with these women without having to see it til the end. What a Love story and so genius to let them make their own rhythm and no score. Their chemistry is the beat. So easy and common to have that rushing emotional music when Marianne sprints to the beach to ask Heloise to forgive her and to tell her her Mother is coming 💔. But we only get their music and portrayal of heartbreak. Nothing else was needed. Love this film. ❤️

Almost like fire flying.. delicious and light while so heavy with craving.

Just saw it for the third time and this scene is my favorite still. Can someone explain why Heloise wanted Marianne to paint her recreating the abortion scene. Also, why didn’t Marianne tell her how she felt . Heloise was begging her to explain her heart but was she afraid. It wound have still been up to Heloise to make the choice . My third question was why did Heloise want to go in the water ? Anyone can shed some light I’ll appreciate it very much. This movie was so masterfully written and acted in every where with so much symbolism, I would love to talk to the director to have her explain those questions for me.

"why Heloise wanted Marianne to paint her recreating the abortion scene" - because 'sorority' is one of the main themes of the film...this film isn't just about the passion between Heloise and Marianne, but about the sisterhood between all 4 main women characters (and how they closely relate and understand each other's plight).
"why didn’t Marianne tell her how she felt" - because of the time they lived in, on top of the risk and vulnerability and humiliation of possible rejection (or even regret, for making a 'forbidden' and dangerous move).
"My third question was why did Heloise want to go in the water ?" - because she felt trapped in her new life, and swimming represented some freedom to her.
All this from a hetro dude, by the way lol...this movie fascinated me, as while i found all the women sexually attractive (even the mother lol), that seemed so very much secondary (or tertiary) compared to how i related to the characters, and wanted them to be happy and safe. You should see The Lighthouse (if you haven't already) which is like the polar male opposite to this film (there's even deep Greek mythology involved in both films). Two best films of 2019.

DeathToTheDictators Thanks so much for the explanation because this film has so much depth and layers that I’m constantly trying to figure different things out. I certainly see now that you’ve explained it from this perspective and it’s amazing . This coming from a hetro dude is wonderful and I’m very impressed that you picked up on it. This is my favorite movie if all time and I can watch it over and over again and see a different message and meaning . Wow, I’m still in awe of the brilliance that the director brought with her writing and direction of this portrayal of deep and everlasting love.

@@b52bomber23 Hey, no problem! I'm glad you enjoyed the film as much as i did (i actually relate so much to Marianne, being a single 43 year old who once found 'true love' but it didn't work out...long story lol. All this time i've been Orpheus, and i didn't even know it until this film!). And check out The Lighthouse...like i said, the male opposite to this film (and shot/filmed just as beautifully, and in black and white, no less! Best performance of Willem Dafoe's career, and that's saying something) ....both deal so much about gender (and the power and role we hold, in our genders)....there's (slight) homo-erotic tones in it too (again, Greek mythology, as it's somewhat a take on the Prometheus story....those old Greeks were very progressive, for over 2000 years ago lol). Both these films can be watched again and again, and you'll always get more out of them.

DeathToTheDictators You’re awesome and thanks for the recommendation. I’m a movie buff and see movies a minimum of two a week but never saw The Lighthouse . However, I’ll try to see it when I’m off and let you know. It would be nice to see something similar but from a man’s perspective. It sounds crazy but I wish that Heloise did see Marianne when she went to hear the Orchestra play Marianne’s favorite song and also it’s the first song she heard besides organ music. Isn’t it fascinating that she went alone , probably because of her deep love for Marianne which she still has but wanted that private moment to relive the experience all to herself. I think it’s why she was able to be honest with her feelings and show them in an honest manner. That was amazing and left me so sad because I think that the director wanted the audience to wish they could have been together . Man this movie is so real. Well thanks and let me know what you think. I’m glad you at least experienced something like it😘
