Halsey is so good with her words, lyrics and speaking. She could have said 'i hate artists who don't write their own lyrics' but instead she said that 'there are different ways to be an artist'. Very professional and unbiased, its hard to argue with her because basically all of her points are valid and considerate
"If you don't spend time alone with yourself, then you don't know yourself, and if you don't know yourself then you don't love yourself." ~ Ashley Nicolette Frangipane 2017
She's incredibly smart, I clicked on one of her videos by accident, I think it was Hurricane, and I literally fell in love with her. Her creativity is amazing and she's not wasting her talent. She helped me face anxiety by her messages and now I'm so confident in myself, I hope she knows how incredible she is. Thank you for that Ashley.
Ashley is so intelligent and fascinating! I honestly didn't know much about her prior to watching this interview. After watching this interview I can say her creativity and authenticity is incredible inspiring
Oh man, I love all the interviews you guys do, but this is definitely my favourite. So detailed and interesting, and it's definitely gotten me even more excited for Hopeless Fountain Kingdom to come out.
Can I just say I absolutely fucking love her. I love how intelligently she speaks and the confidence she exudes, I love how passionate and symbolic her lyrics and her art are, and I love how honest and open she is. And idgaf what anyone says, her new haircut looks awesome!
This might sound a little weird but in some way she gives me the same feeling as to when I listen to an interview by Matty Healy or Tyler Joseph because they're all so good with words! I mean, their vocabulary is crazy! And Halsey is one of my biggest inspirations! She's just so intelligent and she knows her shit! I can't even describe the way she makes me feel with her music, but I love her and I'm so excited for the new album! And also, Zach Sang is the best interviewer I've ever come across. Period.
I can't believe I heard 56 minutes of Halsey speaking about her new album so I just need it even more. Who am I kidding of couse I heard 56 minutes of Halsey speaking about her new album, I mean, come on, I need it even more.
She's so down to earth , she's such a beautiful person inside and out ! Glad I got to be able to know her , not on a personal level but on a person to person level . Also glad to be a fan of such an incredible person
She is so well spoken, intelligent, creative, beautiful I could go on all day. Wow I loved this interview and unlike most radio interviews they were all so respectful, accepting, didn't interrupt and focused on her work and music not just her relationship status ❤️
I am a 27 year old male who doesn't really like her music that much but she has such an amazing view on life and an insightful perspective on humanity that I just can't stop watching her interviews.
“Wanting to live for someone is love” just makes me think about her, now, talking about her son and how she’s so scared to die and miss a moment with him. She’s come so far 💙
she's so incredibly intelligent its literally blowing my mind i learned more about greek mythology and human nature in 2 minutes from halsey than i did in 4 years of literature and western civ goodNIGHT
Yes, but disappointed that it's only a vocal collab, not a writing collab, too. I had hoped that Lauren had helped create the lyrical meaning of their duet, not just the song's (gorgeous) execution and performance.
34:20 that light in her eyes while she's talking about her concepts Just makes me love her more that I love any other female artist, she's truly passionate and smart and She Just makes music that has ha meaning and I will never be grateful enough for this
There are some Graveyard lyrics in the works too. 22:43 "feeling like I would literally die for someone" pretty much the whole song, but specifically "I would've followed all the way to the graveyard " 26:04 "Looking in the mirror and feeling like it's a sack of skin in front of you" "When the hand you wanna hold is a weapon and You're nothin' but skin"
I just sat here for almost an hour listenning to this woman talking and I feel no shame. You're incredibly amazing, creative, so beautiful inside and out! I just love you h
How can a normal person not be totally in Love with this girl. She’s an absolute gem in every possible way. From her good looks to the way she talks, what she says, and every other thing about her. She’s something else.
So happy about this interview! I was wondering when halsey was going to come back to zack sang ! Love his show because of the long radio interviews !!!!
LITERALLY DIDN"T KNOW HALSEY WAS BLACK (new fan) and since I am half black half white too I love that she represents not only biracial people but also those who are other minorities such as people with mental disorders. or people who are gay or bisexual. I LOVE HER EVEN MORE
Her English is very good, and she always knows the best thing to say or how to describe something. She writes her music in a very defined way. I love all her music , I can also really relate about how she grew up and how i'm growing up.
She is so good at speaking if you know what I mean. She’s very aware of the words that comes through her mouth. She doesn’t just blurt something. That is a very hard thing to do for some, but she’s the master of it. This is one of the many reason why I have so much respect for her
I can relate in losing oneself, trying to find oneself, making one self's own decisions, and getting comfortable in your own skin, after a major life change, when one is forced to live alone. It's a scary place to be when you're used to being with someone and then one day, and after that, moving forward, you're all alone.. It's nice to know someone like you, Halsey, to talk about such a change in your own life. Thank you for sharing. What I have learned is it's total self satisfaction, some people say its selfish, but for people who can relate, it's a major life change and it's self satisfaction, nothing to feel or be judged as "Selfish", about, it's a major life changing experience. Once you get a taste of that "Freedom", you feel free. I hope that when someone finds this freedom, finds them self, that no matter if they are seriously involved or has children, or a roommate, or has some form of a serious-like relationship thing going on, whether it be family or business, I hope you never lose yourself... Be strong and always keep yourself and keep moving forward, no matter what! Good luck!
Omg these Interviews get better and better every time of that's even possible. Great questions and still so much space for her to talk. This is so amazing
I love this woman with every fiber of my being. Every interview she has is a breath of fresh air. I get so excited whenever she's on this show because the segments are so long! It's so awesome learning about how Halsey ticks creatively. I am even more excited for Hopeless Fountain Kingdom now as well as seeing her live!!
Fucking hell. The way her mind works is so amazing for lack of a better word. Hearing her explain the album gradually is just kind of overwhelming to the point where i have the interview paused right now. My mind is just blown. Everything makes perfect sense. The way she uses words is in my opinion genius.
I feel like I could just listen to and watch her talk all day. She's so captivating and intelligent and inspiring. Her interview last year with Zach is what hooked me to her in the first place. I'm certainly looking forward to the album and wish her the best for the future.
"If you don't spend time alone with yourself, then you don't know yourself, and if you don't know yourself then you don't love yourself." - Ashley Nicolette Frangipane aka "HALSEY"
This interview is incredible. I love Halsey so so much + I really appreciate the way that you ask questions in general, as someone who loves watching interviews with my favorite artists I get so tired of hearing the same questions and the same stories again and again. I don't need to know if my favorite artists are single for the 30th time. If that's something the artist is okay with their fans knowing then I'll already know the answer to that question. If it isn't then I'm not going to find out via them being asked for the fifty-millionth time. Either way it's a pointless waste of precious interview time. Relationships get talked about of course, but for the most part the artist brings them up themselves. I really appreciate and value these interviews, thank you so much to the Zach Sang show for putting together interviews that ask the questions that fans really want the answers to.
If the 'STRANGERS' music video will be similar to the 'meeting' in the movie Halsey refereed to then man,THAT MUSIC VIDEO IS GONNA BE LIT AF!! THESE QUEENS WILL LITERALLY SLAY EVERYONE.
Tori M : Right?!?!! I totally agree!! I have listened to just as many songs as interviews over the last year!!! I still can't fathom the fact that SHE'S ONLY 22!!! That BLOWS MY MIND!!!!
the backstory to this entire album just makes it so intricate and eye-popping and I havent listened to all of it, but Im excited to because all of this self discovery and passion that Halsey went through in the making of this album just basically guarantees that its going to be freaking awesome
you ask the perfect question. you see what the interviewee is thinking about and instead of asking another question from a different topic you delve deeper beneath the surface of the same topic to really understand what they're trying to say and thats very impressive.
'Devil In Me' is such an Amazing song!! I'm still in love with this track in 2020. It is definitely my favorite out of all the songs on HFK. 'Eyes Closed', 'Heaven In Hiding', 'Sorry', 'Angel On Fire' & 'Hopeless (feat. Cashmere Cat) make my Top6💫
Halsey is such an inspiration and has honestly made me think a lot about this society we live in. She is someone who can and probably does make a difference. Her music is spiritual, loving and realistic.
She looks sooooo much like Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven from Stranger things) especially with this hair cut. Both girls are gorgeous! If Halsey ever gets into acting, she would make an incredible older version of her :)
I've never been a fan of her and I've only heard one song of hers. I'm so glad that I watched this interview out of curiosity because she is such an amazing, strong, intellectual, and passionate soul. I cannot wait to hear more of her music now and I guess I'm joining the fandom.
I actually totally prefer her with the short hair, love it. it just looks weird seeing her with longer hair now like it's unnecessarily hiding her pretty face
I love the way y’all interview, like you guys ask about the music and how they do it not about who they’re dating or why they did this or that, it’s just them and how they connect with their music, I love you all
I've also looked in the mirror and realized the same thing she says about not knowing and not reckonising myself because of giving yourself so much to someone or things or living for other things. That is very scary when you realize you don't know who the person is looking back at you in the mirror. Halsey is so before her time it's like she's lived for 60 yrs when she speaks about anything...she explains things beautifully! It's as if she's lived soo long. Smart woman yet so young here especially. She definitely knows what she wants when it comes to her art. Also they love listening to her they are intranced!!!!!
Ooooh, Ikr! I was always like am I the only one?! And now I found the second person who thinks that! Amd others who gonna reply on this comment. So, yeah, it's awesome!
It blows my mind how people can hate this girl cause every time when I see interviews of her like this, like her beats1 radio interview when badlands was coming out or was out, she blows me away every time. Like I get that people just won't be into her style of music or whatever and that's perfectly fine but how can you not like HER as a person. She's like the realest person I've ever seen. Like I'll admit I don't really enjoy her music that much but I just respect and love her as a person because again just Damn👏🏼
cant fucking wait for the song with lauren, im not even a fan of 5h or anything but i find lauren and ashley so real and i love that we finally have a song reprecenting of bi girls. this interview is great, ashley seems so much more calm, i love my girl
Except, now we've heard the song - it's meaningful and beautiful, but has nothing specifically to do with the lgbt experience. There's nothing bi-specific about having sex without love, or wanting to keep emotions separate from a casual relationship.
to me, being two bi women talking about their same sex experience, is an lgbt experince. is a way to normalize the situation (as it should be) is not a story about fighting for right or the approval of loved ones, is just two lgbt girls and their lgbt romance. i dont say is the new bi anthem haha, but is honest. but i do see what you say and appreciate the different point of views
+Florencia Ramos True, though it's not actually "their romance". It's two bisexual women singing a song that Ashley wrote as a solo, about her own feelings. It is a beautiful song, but I wish it didn't feed into the stereotype of bisexuals as sex-crazed people who can't be monogamous. To the extent that anyone is paying attention, the song gives ammunition to people who think bisexuality is just an excuse for thoughtless, reckless promiscuity.
After I watched this I loved Halsey even more, I'd consider myself a new fan but I am literally obsessed she is such a humble and genuine person with some badass in her and I love it
Halsey is so good with her words, lyrics and speaking. She could have said 'i hate artists who don't write their own lyrics' but instead she said that 'there are different ways to be an artist'. Very professional and unbiased, its hard to argue with her because basically all of her points are valid and considerate
💯❤
She is!! And yes but who would want to

She's incredibly smart, I clicked on one of her videos by accident, I think it was Hurricane, and I literally fell in love with her. Her creativity is amazing and she's not wasting her talent. This is the best radio ever! She talked about every aspect of her life, her new album, music, concepts, life, love, gender, this is so good!
Zach Sang is so underappreciated. He is better at interviews than Ryan Secrest.
Oh my gosh yes way better! cerebral and emotional intelligence. not a misogynist or perv. He rocks
Can I just say I absolutely fucking love her.
I love how intelligently she speaks and the confidence she exudes, I love how passionate and symbolic her lyrics and her art are, and I love how honest and open she is. And idgaf what anyone says, her new haircut looks awesome!

Agnes Victoria yes I feel the exact same way, their voices are so calming and reassuring and I love hearing them spill out their thoughts
Agnes Victoria Tyler Joseph is my emo dad
Agnes Victoria same!

She spoke so highly of MGK. I wonder what happened....
Wow. What an open, exposing interview. Respect to Halsey for speaking so openly and freely in this interview.
She's so cute and her highlight is always on point haha
this just made my whole day.
BITCH TROLL!
Loved it
Alternative artist means alternative of mainstream music, and her music is mainstream. What she said made no sense.
I could listen to Halsey talk All. Day. Long
I was 30 minutes in before realizing this was an hour long interview, I just love listening to her talk about things.
This interview gave me so many chills like... she is a real person?????? She's that intelligent???
This is the most shallow thing I can say when there's so many important issues you talked about, but: *your highlight is popping bitch fuck me up*
Ulises Dum LMFAOO
that was literally the first thing I noticed haha
literally me the entire video
okay but YES THAT HIGHLIGHT I KEPT THINKING LIKE "dang girl those cheekbones are popping"
EXACTLY
so excited for the Lauren Jauregui collab
Yes, but disappointed that it's only a vocal collab, not a writing collab, too. I had hoped that Lauren had helped create the lyrical meaning of their duet, not just the song's (gorgeous) execution and performance.
This interview is so good, you'll did a great job and she's incredible!! 😍
34:20 that light in her eyes while she's talking about her concepts Just makes me love her more that I love any other female artist, she's truly passionate and smart and She Just makes music that has ha meaning and I will never be grateful enough for this
“Stared in the mirror and punched it to shatters”
“I’ll show you my teeth”
got a couple of nightmare lyrics in the making!!
There are some Graveyard lyrics in the works too.
22:43 "feeling like I would literally die for someone"
pretty much the whole song, but specifically "I would've followed all the way to the graveyard
"
26:04 "Looking in the mirror and feeling like it's a sack of skin in front of you"
"When the hand you wanna hold is a weapon and
You're nothin' but skin"
Every Zach Sang interview is amazing. He just brings out the personalities of these people we view as celebrities and humanizes them.
this was so informative and omg best hour of my life
started listening to her last year and still love her so much. she's so real and genuine.
I just sat here for almost an hour listenning to this woman talking and I feel no shame. You're incredibly amazing, creative, so beautiful inside and out! I just love you h

LITERALLY DIDN"T KNOW HALSEY WAS BLACK (new fan) and since I am half black half white too I love that she represents not only biracial people but also those who are other minorities such as people with mental disorders. or people who are gay or bisexual. I LOVE HER EVEN MORE
She's half black! Mixed girls like you are ethereal beauty's! X
Are you color blind? She's white
bend over yes but her dad is black but her skin tones white
SoMae oh ya makes perfect sense
bend over yeah her mom is white and her dad is black but she definitely looks a little more like her mom.
This interview is AMAZING!!! This is exactly why I LOVE HALSEY!!! She is so real, raw and such an emotional being!!
This is one of the many reason why I have so much respect for her
You are amazing Zach!!! And really lucky to have talked to her for that long :"))))))))

Her interviews with Zach Sang are my favorite thing ever
i can't stop staring at her highlight. it is beautiful.
she's a true story teller, i admire how much effort she puts into her records
Omg these Interviews get better and better every time of that's even possible. Great questions and still so much space for her to talk. This is so amazing

Zach is fast with the questions. Incredible interviewer.
Remember when we all thought nothing when she said “we were first fighting in a limousine”?! Girl was droppin’ all the hints
She's so amazing, fascinating, interesting and incredibly eloquent. It's truly satisfying to listen to her thoughts.
If the 'STRANGERS' music video will be similar to the 'meeting' in the movie Halsey refereed to then man,THAT MUSIC VIDEO IS GONNA BE LIT AF!!

she's so beautiful and her voice is very comforting? She's a huge inspiration to me and her music is really relatable for me
I could watch Halsey speak all day she's so smart and inspiring I LOVE HER
Her smile tears my ❤!
you ask the perfect question. you see what the interviewee is thinking about and instead of asking another question from a different topic you delve deeper beneath the surface of the same topic to really understand what they're trying to say and thats very impressive.
Halsey's voice is so relaxing 😊
'Devil In Me' is such an Amazing song!! I'm still in love with this track in 2020. It is definitely my favorite out of all the songs on HFK. 'Eyes Closed', 'Heaven In Hiding', 'Sorry', 'Angel On Fire' & 'Hopeless (feat. Cashmere Cat) make my Top6💫
She's gorgeous - with or without hair. I love her voice, and I'm new to her music. So glad I came across her a couple weeks ago.
Halsey is such an inspiration and has honestly made me think a lot about this society we live in. She is someone who can and probably does make a difference. Her music is spiritual, loving and realistic.
Lauren and Halsey together makes me more and more gay. THE GAY ANTHEM IS COMING BITCHES.
Lauren Jauregui makes me gay THE SAPPHIC ANTHEM AT LAST
that highlight gives me life
She looks sooooo much like Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven from Stranger things) especially with this hair cut. Both girls are gorgeous! If Halsey ever gets into acting, she would make an incredible older version of her :)
Heather Sommer She really does look like Millie!
omg I wish if halsey can be in stranger things as eleven's older sister or eleven when she gets older😂😂😂
shisha That would be freaking amazing!
Keke Tube25 right😍💙
I've never been a fan of her and I've only heard one song of hers. I'm so glad that I watched this interview out of curiosity because she is such an amazing, strong, intellectual, and passionate soul. I cannot wait to hear more of her music now and I guess I'm joining the fandom.

i could listen to her voice forever
you guys kill with this interviews. been loving them so far!!

how can this be an hour and still feel too short😍
I'm in love with the way she speaks. it's so captivating.
Tell me I'm not the only person who thinks Zach and Halsey looks like Mike Wheeler and Eleven from Stranger Things in ten years lmfao.
AngieBear J Eleven literally looks exactly like Halsey!
Damn! That’s why she looks familiar!
