"ALLAH is the best of deceivers" -- A Muslim Response.

  • Christians argue that according to the Quran, Allah is the "best of deceivers" and is therefore not the God of the Bible. This utterly ludicrous and blasphemous claim is based on their selective reading of a particular word that appears in Surah 3:54: "And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners". Anyone who's intellectually honest can see that the verse is simply teaching us that Allah deals with disbelievers using the same methods they employ. In other words, Allah gives the disbelievers a taste of their own medicine. Now, it's beyond the scope of this short video to discuss semantics and the etymology of the word involved. Instead, God willing, this video will simply demonstrate how to take the silly argument of the Christian polemicists and turn it against them. All we need to do is remind the Christian polemicists that according to their own Bible, God "deceived" people.

John 8: 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

This is not 'the verse' in question.
There are multiple verses showing the claim.

ok so i truly suggest you read a different version that you can understand the meaning because the kjv is a literal translation and you need biblical understanding to understand whats being said truly.(mind you God takes credit for things He doesnt do because He ALLOWS IT, ex: Exodus 7:3-4(God hardened pharaohs heart), 2 Samuel 6:6( pharaoh hardened his own heart) more exs: 2 Samuel 24:1 and 1 Chronicles 21:1/ Exodus 12:12 and Exodus 12:23 etc
2 Thes 2:11- read in context, verses 4-12 its satan doing the deceiving not God, God gives them up to their desires because they regret the gospel and its truth and the lie that they believe in comes from satan not God(verse4)
2 kings 22:20-23- God didnt send the spirit, He allowed the spirit to do what it wanted. the spirit came to God and said i will persuade them then God asked how and the spirit replies he will be a lying spirit then God said go and do as u please and u will prevail also, so the spirit started the whole convo therefore God didnt send it, He allowed it to do what it wanted
duet 28:28- the confusion, madness etc are results of the curse of the Jews disobeying God and read context God allows other nations to do what they want to the Jews so its the other nations(God uses evil for the greater good of His people, later on they turn back to God because of the curse)read context
Jer 20:7 and 4:10- so in Jer 20:7 the hebrew word for deceive means to persuade or deceive but for 20:7 its persuade(Jer 4:10-11 is refuted in the context below)
    (go in order)(context)
1)Jer 1:15-16- God says judgement will come to the Jews for worshiping false gods and etc
and verse 17; God tells Jeremiah to not be afraid when he goes tell them what God said would happen and prepare himself for it
2)Jer 3:12-13- God says all they need to do is repent and turn back to God for the judgement not come and tells Jer to say this to them
3)Jer 3:27-28 God says the false gods wont save them for their sins against God
4)Jer 4:3-4- God says judgement is coming because they(Jews) didnt listen
5)Jer 4:10-11- Jer accused God of deceiving His people even after what God already said beforehand
    6) Jer 15:11-13- God uses an army for His judgement on them(Jews) and in verses 19-20 Obey God and you(jeremiah) will be fine
later on Jer trys to keep interceding for the Jews even thou God made up His mind already and it wont change and tell Him that all they(Jews) need to do is repent and they will be forgiven for their sins but the doesnt happen
then in 20:7-11- Jer is persuaded that God is stronger than his troubles he got for doing what the Lord commanded him to do
So God doesnt deceive but He does uses evil for His plan of the greater good but He isnt the one literally doing the deceiving, its other agents He allows to do what they want and He uses that for His will

"So God doesnt deceive but He does uses evil for His plan of the greater good"
If the Bible says several times that God deceived people and his own prophets, then that's what it means. There's no reason to assume that the Bible doesn't mean what it's saying. The interpretation of a verse cannot supersede the direct meaning of the verse.
But for the sake of argument, lets go with your explanation. And to be fair, let's also apply the same thinking to the Quran. So Allah isn't "deceiving" anyone, but is using evil for the greater good. If Christians can't accept that, then it means they are operating on a double standard and their explanations about God deceiving people in the Bible can be rejected.

@@theologyroom"If the Bible says several times that God deceived people and his own prophets, then that's what it means" and again you forget context.
I forgot to point out Ezekiel 14:9-10 but 1 Kings 22:19-23 is the context of God ALLOWING the lying spirit to do what it wanted and the prophets were fake ones.
you have to read context for the full understanding s the verses mean what they say IN LIGHT of context, don't use your false and dumb interpretations, the difference is that your allah did do the deceiving whereas our God doesn't because its not in His nature but its in your gods nature which is why your god is satan in our eyes

Read the Quranic verse in it's correct context. And don't use your false and dumb interpretations. Take your own advice.
Also, according to the Bible, God deceived His own people. That's literally what it says and here you are telling me to not believe what the Bible plainly says.
