She didn't want to be claimed for his death or have it be on her record. So you have to ask, how many times do you think she says these things to ordinary patients? That is whats cold.
It's not cold. It's being a doctor. Webber was showing emotions because he knew it was Henry. They do this every hour of every day. Had it been another person, Webber will have the same reaction Cristina had.
saying that his heart wouldnt be able to last long anyway and that she didnt want this on her boards isnt cold.. at the beginning of the episode or a few episodes prier hunt said he doesnt want them to have many deaths because if their boards coming up…
That's one thing that Grey pissed me off with...kill off someone they love...because everyone loves drama. However would it be better, for the characters to just leave..instead of die lol
Yeah. I can accept character death when it makes sense for the story (Meredith's mom, etc.,.) but when its just for drama and to "shake things up" it just becomes cheap and it makes me not want to watch the show.
@LetYourLiteShine17 and the next saddest thing is that Teddy will be handling it better than Izzie. She will be stronger and I will love her even more for that. It's even more dramatic. And for me, Henry's death was so much worse than Danny's, because he was like a member of cast, he was like one of main characters for a while, he didn't only lie in the hospital bed, he was becoming someone that could have stayed for longer on that show. I HATE IT! Teddy's soooo lonely again!
I know it’s been almost nine years, but I still haven’t forgiven Owen for this. He didn’t tell Christina who the patient was, and he didn’t tell Teddy until after she was out of surgery that Henry died.
I don’t agree with Owen for not telling christina, but he wasn’t allowed to tell teddy henry died when she was in surgery. Mainly because of safety issues, like teddy could have become too distraught that she can’t finish the surgery, or she makes a mistake a kills or fatally the patient, and the hospital could get sued because it’s a liability issue as she would have been too distracted or not in the right head space to do her job correctly. I hope that makes sense
Owen literally wasn't fucking allowed to. He couldn't fucking tell Teddy. Someone already died. Losing your spouse is TERRIBLE. Teddy wouldn't be okay which we later end up seeing and they WERE NOT about to lose another patient.
Man, all these years and that scene still breaks my heart. Sandra’s performance was the epitome of every emotion all at once and we know Cristina rarely showed her emotions.
A What If?... that I've liked to run thru from time to time since seeing this episode, is what if Meredith and Alex died in that ambulance? What would be Christina's reaction to that, post Henry? She has failed her mentor and lost her friends... I think upon finding out/seeing their bodies, she'd turn around and leave. Not just the hospital, Seattle and perhaps even the country. Completely shut down, and never let anyone find her. Not even Owen. And because I like drama, the ambulance exploded as was hyped all thru the episode. Alex threw himself on Mer and the baby to protect them, thus taking the brunt of it and dying almost immediately. While Mer and the baby survived to make it to the hospital, her flatlining just as Christina arrives. Dark, I know. But highlighting their sacrifice for the baby (and Alex for Mer), at the cost of themselves.
actually I did, now I do realize my huge mistake considering the fact Lexie was my favorite character all over the show.. I didn't anticipate her dying, I totally didn't see it coming. Though Henry was a gorgeous character he clearly died too soon.. :(
@BeckytaSU you're right, but in this ep in particular i think they had to push to the extreme her being cold just to stress the shock once she discovered it was henry
Aside from Henry, who I loved as a character, it was incredibly stupid and irresponsible of Meredith and Alex to be arguing in the middle of the road in the rig. They had lights they should’ve opened the back door and let the light shine and indicate their position. Three kids were left parentless because of their idiocy
that's just my opinion, plus I don't think that way anymore, to me the saddest scene of grey's will be forever Lexie's death. I guess the prod does worse each episode..
@BeckytaSU u have to understand Christina! she's emocionaly distance from the pacient to treat him more focused, otherwise it would happend like Derek, that she became traumatize, she can't handle losing a pacient!
What was the name of that song that was playing in the background while christina was talking to derek about zola while she was on her way to do the surgery?
owen not telling it to cristina and then asks her to assist teddy and pretend she knew this and henry's death is when I knew he is the least favorite male char in greys. He might have the conviction but man, doing it in favor of teddy is despicable
@ozshark I know i´m a med student, you learn to be desensitized. But there is a diference between been not emotionally involved and being Cristina. I guess people have diferent ways to keep themselves together.
My guess is she doesn't know how to really properly see social cues and has a problem with attachment because of her father dying literally in her arms at 9 years old, seeing his opened chest and all.
I am just now watching greys anatomy, it a pretty good show. Up until teddy badgers poor Christina because she lost her husband. When it was her idea for Christina to do his surgery and if that wasn't enough demanding she aide her in the current surgery. Owen just helps his ex bully and boss Christina around and if she says no or she can't he doesn't allow that just keeps pushing her. I love Christina and Meredith my favorite characters. I didn't always like Christina, but she doesn't deserve the way she's treated in season 8.
I honestly HATE killing any kind of character just to help another character development. So imagine my anger when Henry, a very nice, handsome and funny character who had a great story with Teddy and is still one of my favorite story lines of all Of Grey’s. Died. It would have been cool to see how they developed more cause in the show I get that doctors only date doctors so seeing a relationship between a doctor and non doctor.

actually I did, now I do realize my huge mistake considering the fact Lexie was my favorite character all over the show.. I didn't anticipate her dying, I totally didn't see it coming. Though Henry was a gorgeous character he clearly died too soon.. :(
i loved henry’s character so so much. it hurt my heart when they killed him
I miss when Grey's Anatomy was this good!!!!
I guess that Love never triumph in this show.
Makes me cry a lot :(( henry :(( wen cristina said teddy about henry aww :( so sad
@BeckytaSU you're right, but in this ep in particular i think they had to push to the extreme her being cold just to stress the shock once she discovered it was henry
I haaaaaated this moment
This show really made me wanna become a surgeon 😭
Aside from Henry, who I loved as a character, it was incredibly stupid and irresponsible of Meredith and Alex to be arguing in the middle of the road in the rig. They had lights they should’ve opened the back door and let the light shine and indicate their position. Three kids were left parentless because of their idiocy
Oooow, I loved Henryyyyy!! :''''''''''''''(
Great Video !!!
Teddy was a horrible person and she deserved nothing but Henry was everything for her, for all of us. He deserved better
@leonardrtg
The song is so gorgeous and thankfully it can now be found on youtube.
Owen did the same thing to Teddy that Teddy did to Cristina. Both of them wanted to have their complete focus on saving the patient in front of them.
that's just my opinion, plus I don't think that way anymore, to me the saddest scene of grey's will be forever Lexie's death. I guess the prod does worse each episode..
Oh Lord, I forgot about this. Cristina DIDN'T KNOW it was Altman's boyfriend on the table.
muito triste a morte do henry, achei que ele ficaria mais tempo na serie,o pior é que a continuação desse episodio so ira sair ano que vem
Owen pushed her😭 one thing to operate on Henry but then to stand with her and operate without Teddy knowing smh .. that’s real trauma !
they really traumatised her left right and centre
It was like taking away a scond Denny! T.T
Christina is just toooo good
Goddamn it I just rewatched grey's at the beginning of the year.....I'm very tempted to watch it all over again.....for the 7th time...
I hated this scene they should’ve told Cristina who it was and not blindsided her like that
They had the biggest mistake of letting go of Sandra Oh
@BeckytaSU u have to understand Christina!
she's emocionaly distance from the pacient to treat him more focused, otherwise it would happend like Derek, that she became traumatize, she can't handle losing a pacient!
Henrys death hit me harder than George’s. I know don’t roast me but it was so sad seeing Teddy lose it.
I feel like no one really grieved that hard for George. They continued to mention him but no one actually like really lost it besides Callie
Usually it’s the Doctors Shonda kills this is new
What was the name of that song that was playing in the background while christina was talking to derek about zola while she was on her way to do the surgery?
owen not telling it to cristina and then asks her to assist teddy and pretend she knew this and henry's death is when I knew he is the least favorite male char in greys. He might have the conviction but man, doing it in favor of teddy is despicable
It's different now but it still sustains its magic
The only male character on the show that I really loved
@ozshark I know i´m a med student, you learn to be desensitized.
But there is a diference between been not emotionally involved and being Cristina.
I guess people have diferent ways to keep themselves together.
My guess is she doesn't know how to really properly see social cues and has a problem with attachment because of her father dying literally in her arms at 9 years old, seeing his opened chest and all.
For anyone to say that Christina Yang didn’t do everything that she could must not know Cristina Yang and My heart hurt for her in this moment
I didn't always like Christina, but she doesn't deserve the way she's treated in season 8.
i want him goerge and lexie back
Whole time I’m like girl read the room Lexi was saying a lot with out saying anything the whole time
IT IS BS THAT HENRY DIES. THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE KILLED HIM OFF!!
I honestly HATE killing any kind of character just to help another character development. So imagine my anger when Henry, a very nice, handsome and funny character who had a great story with Teddy and is still one of my favorite story lines of all Of Grey’s. Died. It would have been cool to see how they developed more cause in the show I get that doctors only date doctors so seeing a relationship between a doctor and non doctor.
this episode isnt released in Australia yet - i didnt know - this is soo sad - WHY Henry was so awesome not kool shonda not kool!
