    That is an amazing painting! Wow. I have had those pits etc. before. I found one thing that helps is patience. I let the painting sit for several weeks before adding a coat of resin. It does seem to help the majority of the time. Unfortunately I am not the best when it comes to patience. :P - Heidi

    What if I have a huge counter top and only a few low spots can I sand just the low spots and repour epoxy over that area?

    • @ArtistTillDeath
      @ArtistTillDeath  Год назад +1

      Doing patches like that usually never results in a completely flat surface because resin tends to dome. If it does dome- you have to sand it down flat and you will be able to see the sanding. If you try it this way then you may need to hone the whole piece back to a high gloss. Or, just flood coat. I’m not the best at honing

    It's beautiful...I'm just confused about the leveling. What good does it do to level prior to pouring the resin if you keep picking it up and setting back down. How do you know it's level again? Just eyeballing it I assume?

    Anybody can do epoxy resin.... But that painting is freaking awesome ! :) Nice work ! Have you tried using a sealing archival varnish spray before using the epoxy ? Krylon makes one for about $10 a can, with great reviews. I think this would completely eliminate this problem before it happens.

    covered a coffee table using acrylics,resin and resiblast. I got horrible pits all over the table I cleaned the pits with alcohol and recovered. Now I have several more pits. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

    • @ArtistTillDeath
      @ArtistTillDeath  7 лет назад +1

      Colleen Terry did you sand the table as well? The sanded off dust of the resin can act as a “soaking up” agent to combat the resiblast or silicone. I have also heard of people using baby powder, baking soda, Dawn dish soap, flour and clear spray paint to seal the residue in. What percent of alcohol were you using? We use 91%, then sand the surface, then clean with 91% again. We are happy to help

    • @colleenterry9452
      @colleenterry9452 7 лет назад +2

      My husband used his power sander to the table!! I used 91% of the alcohol and cleaned it 3 xwith the alcohol So now I haveSTILL have pits after the 3rd pour... do I sand and resin for the fourth time or throw the damn table away :{

    Ok! Wish me luck... going to try and fix my pits today! Thank you for the “How To”... quick question... I see that you are using little paper cups for the measure. I would love to use my little Dixie cups, make clean up easygoing, but! The resin instructions say not to use a cup that has wax. Finally, my question... does your cup have wax and if so, have you had any problems with it! Do you think the wax could contribute to putting? Thank again!

    I'm new to resin and I needed to fill a large jar with resin :'( I made the newbie mistake of pouring all the resin into the jar in one try instead of doing multiple thin layers. I poured the resin in slowly and at first everything looked perfect. Then 15 mins later the resin reacted and it became really hot (the jar was literally burning hot). I think at one point the resin started to boil - and loads of huge air bubbles appeared out of nowhere. By this time the top layer of resin had already solidified and the air bubbled couldn't escape. I'm pretty depressed about it right now...not sure if it's even possible to fix these air spaces. Going to wait for it to cure and see if there's anything I can do to salvage it

      Well, we didn't set the pits in the resin - the are a result of the surface having oily paints on them before adding the resin.

    Is this where you want your life to be guided by,..death? Yes,their is eternal death,both either in heaven or hell. There's no negotiations with God.
    Choose the Author of life,Jesus. All other roads lead to eternal separation from God. Remember, Jesus died for you,He took your debt of sin upon Himself..pretty good news in this dark hour. Or haven't you noticed yet.
