These tales are perfect for those long Winter nights. Winter for me is a time for quiet reflection , contemplation , long digest of ideas, ...and to give the creative fires a renewable .charge .

I liked the premise - private eye takes on a situation he should have left to the police and winds up battered and looking silly - but the writing wasn't as good as the concept. So this wasn't one of the best Mystery Theater episodes, but EG Marshall interjected some Raymond Chandler quotes that I enjoyed even though I've read them before. The quotes were so much better than the dialogue and narration that it got me thinking: Did CBSRMT do any Chandler stories? I hope they did, and if not I wish they had.

Love the fact that They did a classic 1940s detective story. Love those older shows to particularly night beat and Broadway is my beat. Love listening to Mandel Kramer the last Johnny dollar

    E. G. Marshall is right. The private eye in this episode is no Philip Marlowe.

But still. This is far better than whats on television in 2021. They also need to make movies in black & white. lets the imagination run wild!
