As a followup to the above video, I can confirm that I have now done 4 long journeys and not once have I had any bongs. Try this, if you still have random issues then I would also fit a new "genuine" brake light switch, again another possible cheap fix to try which is a known issue that causes random suspension lowering or "special programs unavailable" warnings.
9 months now since I shot this video, still no bongs and NO suspension errors at all. We have done some greenlaning on Salisbury plain, and a weekend in Wales. No issues at all.
Thanks so much, I've been through it with mine and steering and suspension calibration are so important. IID Tool (expensive but will save in long run!)
Agree the IID tool is a very good investment, and to be honest when you sell your Discovery 3 you can sell the IID tool for not a lot less than new prices.
Hello First , Thank you My truck LR3 2006 V6 I spend over 10K on this truck just this year. Bought in 2008. I replace front top and lower arm and strut one week ago. Got the truck align, Thé truck was steering a lot on the right. Since thé height of the 4 wheels was not right they made a recalibration of the heigt. Since they recommand loosing thé bolt of the arm once it s at the property height, i done it yesterday. Gettimg out of the Garage i notice thé Steering wheel is really off and a few minutes after i got thé HDC Fault and vehicule lower. Thé garage do not whant to touch it anymore. Maybe it s just need your solution ??? Steering calibration ? Thank you very much. Charles from Montréal
Thank you very much. In any case, it s not normal that the steering is at 10 past 12 when the wheels are straight, they did something wrong ! Have a nice day .
Hey there, finally a vid that looks like it may fix my issue. firstly which tool do you have? second, was your steering actually off centre (18 degs) while the wheels were straight? so with reset the sensor thinks it is straight, but steering wheel is actually still off? (no big deal, just confirming), as my wheels drive straight, and steeringwheel is slightly off... really appreciate any help. damn sick of all the lights flashig!!! haha cheers
Hi, I can confirm this has fixed my issue still no suspension errors and we have been offroading a few times since this video was made. I used the IID Tool. You couldn't tell the wheels were off, but I had new lower arms fitted so installing new ones would of definately changed the wheel allignment which of course I had to get redone after fitting the lower arms. Hope it helps you out.
