Tamela Mann is a LEGEND in the black community!! It’s crazy to me that she isn’t a house hold name for others. Even though I’ve grown up knowing listening and seeing her on TV.
What a talent! Hearing she sang on tv makes sense. I’m assuming she stepped in with this band, and she looked very comfortable with the crowd and cameras
This is a great illustration of the difference between “singing” and SANGING. The difference primarily being what we call oil. It’s not her range, vocal choices, tone, all of which are impressive. Tamela Mann got that oil. Can’t buy it, can’t go to school to learn it, can’t really even borrow it or stand next to someone and catch it. Those who got it, got it. Those who don’t…don’t.
She is soo annointed!! She is an American Gospel singer who got her start singing with Gospel Legend Kirk Franklin and the Family. She also became a major part of Tyler Perry Plays as Cora sangin in those plays as well! She then became her own solo artist. Her album The experience and one of my fav songs "In Your Corner" she ministers. I will post a few links with my next comment
I can't ever listen to the beautiful Ms. Mann without getting chills. I first heard of her, when I saw her live with Tyler Perry in one of his plays...and when she sang.....it was electric. She definitely ushered the Spirit into the room!! It is my plan to see her with Kirk Franklin live.....she is so anointed.
I’ve seen her live twice, and I was in tears the whole time. She is so incredibly anointed. I am such a fan. She actually makes you want to come to Christ by her intensity and conviction. It’s obvious she’s a talented vocalist, but she was praising God with her gift. It was for him first, and the Holy Spirit was thick in that venue. Hallelujah lord Jesus!🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Singing in baptist church choirs I can confirm that most praise leaders would rather hear their own voices in acoustic monitors as close to the stage as possible (no matter how tacky it looks) than to have to wear in ears. In ears don’t hold up to the Holy Spirit once it moves! Lol

Bruh that wasn't jazz, that was GOSPEL MUSIC. Jazz, the blues, r&b etc. all came from the church. Majority of all the best in each of those genres came from the church in pursuit of the all mighty dollar. The words of most gospel song's originated on plantations.
