I like how humble they are and realizing the talent of other countries. They will surprise themselves and the fans. Germany and USA will make it out the group.
i am Brazilian but i luv to know that the americans are growing on the soccer and loving it each time more \☺/ ! congratulations US main team! good luck for ya here in my country!
Bosnia is with You USA.Hope you win all the matches in your group. It will not be easy but USA does miracles. You have to me most quality and underrated team you can make it to semi-final or final definetly.Go USA
I want to call it football but my buddies say, "that's a low scoring game". Yeah he's from Germany, but...wouldn't most of us Americans think he's talking about throwball?
SwiftCross I thought that wasn't truly fair though. Neuer is the best goalie and he was on the best team, but he wasn't challenged very much, certainly not like Howard facing over 30 shots in one game. Not saying Howard earned it, but just saying.
Jacob Hamm Just dream you have to defeat other countries that are miles ahead from you like: Brazil, Argentina, Germany, England, France, Italy, Spain, Uruguay, Colombia, etc. You have to learn a lot
Football/soccer is very well on its way if not already the second most popular sport among youth, basketball being first. The US already has an exceptional wave of talent coming through, and it is only gonna get better. Soooo many middle class americans (especially white ones) play soccer plus the hispanic population and thats mainly where our talent is coming from. However, I think the demographic we have to get playing soccer is lower class black america. So many of the US' ll best athletes are african american lower to middle class, and they really only play football (american football) and basketball. But we are well on our way to becoming a powerhouse in the sport. Just you wait. I expect a very strong showing from the team in 2026, that should be the first year we compete with the powerhouses at the wc.
I wonder what he means by that. P.S. I really think that the USA team can do better than they did in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. They can go further than just 1/8 finals (or Round of 16). They are capable of much more.
Mexico won the first Universitary or College American Football World Cup celebrated in Sweden, early this year 2014. Mexico 62-0 Sweden Mexico 53-0 Finland Mexico 55-0 China Final game: Mexico 14-6 Japan.
Good coach and a refreshing young team, I like how Jurgen searched for young talent instead of keeping "old" nonfit players. Despite of the tough group you guys are in, I hope you guys wil get far .
The team as changed alot since then, and I don't want to be a "trash-talker" but I don't think U.S.A. will pass through the group but I think they will finally beat Ghan, I wish USA and all the other teams that are competing in the world cup good luck. :) Cheers From Portugal. No to Racism. Yes to Friendshio and Union.
USMT will come stronger next world cup and in Copa America. Klinsmann has transformed the mentality, tactics, also instilled discipline and unity within the team. Things can only get better as long as the MLS and youth development system are taken seriously.
Ok at 1:40.....no. Columbus did not discover the US. There were inhabitants all across the americas WAAAY before he got there. And besides, he sailed around the caribbean. Oh the historical inaccuracies.
It would be very difficult for the USA to get past the group stage but I think they can pull it off. This is the strongest usa squad ever but getting into the quater finals will be incredibly hard getting into the final four would be a very long long shot but anything can happen in the World Cup anything can happen in sports(miracle on ice) this isn't the first time the USA are underdogs and we embrace being the being underdogs.
Klinsmann is a good coach, but he will park the bus vs Germany and probably Portugal, Its hard to see them getting out of the group but if they don't lose to Portugal and get a win vs Ghana then they can make it out with 4 points and manage to go through on GD
Asa Becker We most likely don't stand a chance, but on any given day any team can be victorious. Still, the US pales in comparison to Germany and Portugal when it comes to football (never calling it soccer, I don't care what my fellow Americans think).
I can see us being eliminated easily in the group stage, but I know that we will put up a good fight. Bob Bradley had our team on the right path, and I don't think he should have been sacked. Although I don't agree with Klinsmann's match tactics, I respect what he has done so far. He has given the team a new image and has forced the team to develop its own footballing "identity." I like that he has completely overhauled the team and given us some young, fresh faces that can be huge talents in the future. I definitely see a better squad incoming for 2018.
People seriously need to get over this soccer/football argument. It doesn't have any effect on the game and does nothing to change anything. It's just people being picky for no reason. Here's a fact: we didn't invent the word, we just use it. Stop acting like we are murderers because we use a word that was invented to describe a sport. It makes no difference at all. Stop being so sensitive. Anyways, rant over, GO USA!!! Our group is going to be so difficult, but it will make it that much more rewarding when we make it out.
Archie Richard Donovan the best American player and the one who scored the most goals in the MLS league was excluded because the German Coach of the U.S team is rooting for Germany. :D lol
Shamann Nahkhchuvan Football , above all other sports, friend, is about TEAM management. I'll give you guys examples : Luis Aragones cut out Raul Gonzales of the Spanish Team; Scolari, in 2002, cut out Romario from the BRAZILIAN TEAM ; Klinsmann put Kahn on the bench and in his place he put Lehmann. It's hard to deal with EGOS. Klinsmann is a coacho who is a master of building good Teams. Perhaps Donovan - i agree with you : the guy is a terrific player - didn't fit this kind of profile. Greetings from Brazil and i am rooting for the US National.
Morning of Ghana game, I'm american and can't wait for this matchup! There are plenty of people who care about soccer (football) in this country when the World cup comes around. Hopefully if the US succeeds in this World Cup, the sport's popularity will skyrocket. Plus since the amount of international people coming to the US is always rising, this will help evolve the sport as well. But I do want soccer to become popular here! GO USA!!!
I hope we can play spoiler. We are in a TOUGH group with Germany and Portugal! On top of that, Ghana is in our group, who always give us trouble. In the U.S. now, they televise the EPL and La Liga in HD every week, which is awesome. Waking up early on weekends watching real Football, LOL, awesome. I hope Italy does well also.
the 2002 USA team came so close to Quarter finals and even went toe to toe with Germany who ended up being the Champions that was the best USA National team but this group is belt for 2018 its a young USA side that Klinsmann wants to grow together USA Golden generation in the making
I don't care if America is not football[soccer] nation, but this players are all world class. They are competitive enough to be in a world cup. This players can beat any team. Of course they represent their country, but most importantly they represent football[soccer]. Respect them and support them when you see them playing. I am football[soccer] fan, and i only care about the quality of the players not the history of the country they are coming from.
You better represent Concacaf the best way possible muthatruckaz!!! You became the big guys of our region and my wonderful CR is kicking some balls (literaly) n' ass already so you better catch up! Much love you beautiful international job generators :)
Goal against England scored by Haitian guy in '66. Highest attended and rated World Cup was in USA 1994, most tickets bought for World Cup every year are by Americans, and the popularity if soccer is rising. And also a lot of the biggest teams in the world are owned by Americans. We are coming for you down there in Brazil world!!!
It's crazy how much we have improved since we got our own pro league 20 years ago. I remember when I was young watching Soccer games on tv, and they would go to commercial in the middle of the game. Then just come back and hope nobody scored. And when the MLS first started they used to do the hockey style penalty kick shootouts. It was such a joke.
Im With Mexico Of Course, But Im Wishing The Whole Concacaf Teams to go to the Next Round Especially The U.S. Im predicting This: 1.Germany 2.USA 3.Portugal 4.Ghana
No disrespect to the US but I'd be very surprised if they manage to qualify over Portugal and Germany. Just Ghana by itself is a team that they have struggled against, Portugal and Germany should win with no trouble.
I hate when I read the comments section and I see people arguing being racist and such, this is football why can't we unite and love the sport as one?greetings from Mexico
I don't know about "world's best", but yeah. We gave up 35 goals in 20 World Cup games between 1990 and 2010, or 1.75 goals per game. If there's a tactical distinctive we're known for, it's a fast and effective counterattack.
The USA soccer popularity owes a lot to their Women team enormous success. Stars like Hope Solo or Amy Wambach are more popular than Brian McBride or Landon Donovan.
I'm betting that USMNT will win a world cup before Mexico at the rate they're playing. I wish Mexico can step up and go pass the round of 16 and finish in third or second place.
If we didn't have to many sports in the USA we would be one of the best in the world in FIFA. The problem is we have to many sports in the USA American Football, Baseball, Basketball and Hockey. If we didn't have Baseball Soccer would be ranked 2nd in the USA. But right now sports is starting to change in North America. Soccer is pretty much ranked 3rd now and I do see it going in the right direction. Right now the younger youth is playing more soccer than football and baseball. The younger youth is the target now for soccer.
Well, must admit that USA got it serious enough this time.. I was like meh - as always - cause - easy qualifying regions, but when I heard that not anyone else but Yuergen Klinsmann himself got the head-coach of the team - I knew it was serious (as much as possible) for real this time.. I also love how he's mixing the German and the US accent simultaneously to almost having the "Hans Grueber" impersonation..
honestly i don't expect much from Portugal, if they were consistent they should have qualified in their group and shouldn't have resorted to the playoff games with sweden, That being said i think the US has a decent/fighting chance to possibly beat them or tie them, with obviously more of a defensive scheme and fighting for set pieces, with an emphasis on the latter. With Germany its obviously a different story since they have too many options, deep bench and are overall great, a tie would probably be too generous. This time around i think they can strongly secure a win to ghana, third time should be the charm
I'm going to have nightmares about this game until at least next world cup. I still have nightmares of that German handball on the goal line in 2002. Why didn't Bradley just pass it to the sidelines? The agony of defeat in these games is more than the joy of winning.
I am Ghanaian by birth but I have to be objective and say that Ghana will not be lucky a third time against the U.S this time around . The Americans are so determined to beat Ghana that they have revitalized their team with foreigners with American eligibility. In their preparations towards the world cup, they have played a lot of friendlies and beaten countries like Germany, Brazil and the Netherlands, countries capable of winning it all. On the contrary, Ghana has played very few friendlies and lost 0-1 to the Netherlands whom the U. S beat by 4-2. Also, unlike their American counterparts who have had the most camping sessions in the soccer history.(Of course they have the money to make this possible) Ghana's preparations has been anything but satisfactory. A few days of camping in Accra and a few in the Netherlands and in Florida, US can hardly be called real preparation for a tournament of the level of the World Cup. It is undeniable the coach Jurgen Klinsman, himself one time world class player and a world cup veteran, has raised the standard of play by the US team and even hired the services of former German coach Vogt to assist him to plan different strategies to qualify from the first round. This preparation alone should make Ghana sit up and realize that this will be their toughest game yet against the Americans. In short the Americans are more prepared for the tournament the their Ghanaian counterparts and are more likely to qualify for the quarter-finals that Ghana and most probably the rest of the group G rivals.
You also have to look population size. There are never going to be 1 million icelandic football players if there aren’t even 1 million icelandic people.
Vão conhecer o segundo país do futebol, estádios magnífico e cultura muito interessante, apesar de tantos problemas e ineficiência em algumas áreas, o show dentro das quatro linhas está garantido!
I do say, Ghana will be our first victory. Portugal and Germany however will be tough and I think we can pull a win over Portugal. I just hope to hold a draw with Germany to advance.
Highlight of this qualifying campaign... Taking Panama out of the Intercontinental Play-Off in under the last 2 min. Panama needed the win to guarantee the match vs New Zealand, a tie if Mexico loosed. Panama was winning 1-0 until the last 2 minutes, thanks to that Bosnia-Herzegovina are the only debutants
The U.S national team was alright. I respect the performance because by making it second out of the group they showed that organization and game plan can compete with talent. Costa Rica was an even better team devoid of the world class talent world beaters have and they made it to the quarter finals. Mexico was about as good as Costa Rica and whether they got robbed or not proved it. Hats off to the USMNT for showing that.
I like how humble they are and realizing the talent of other countries. They will surprise themselves and the fans. Germany and USA will make it out the group.
I'm from the netherlands and man, the USA were brilliant in 2014! I enjoyed their matches.
You Diver
Thanks we appreciate your football too
I love the holland then
These videos are amazing, thanks for the hard work! Keep it up!
i am Brazilian but i luv to know that the americans are growing on the soccer and loving it each time more \☺/ ! congratulations US main team! good luck for ya here in my country!

Glad Klinsman calls it football. :)
Klinsmann is from Germany, ofc he calls it football, why would he not?
ojhda My bad
Quite a few of us in the USA call it football now. Our players do as well.
Yes Donavan too?
I want to call it football but my buddies say, "that's a low scoring game". Yeah he's from Germany, but...wouldn't most of us Americans think he's talking about throwball?
US did pretty well in the WC 2014 and Tim Howard claimed the title of "God of Goalies"
Nah its Neuer who got golden glove but Howard also did gr8. Same with Ochoa. Lots of gr8 keepers
SwiftCross I thought that wasn't truly fair though. Neuer is the best goalie and he was on the best team, but he wasn't challenged very much, certainly not like Howard facing over 30 shots in one game. Not saying Howard earned it, but just saying.
Good point but he still made great saves
shnickel1 was that the match against belgium ?
Honda Dax Yes it was haha :).
I really hope soccer/football becomes popular in the US.
Me too, I was born and raised in the US and I absolutely love the sport!
It's definitely getting there
bmorebruh They did beat Germany
***** A new MLS team in Minnesota is coming soon, so hopefully it will start growing as soon as they play their first game.
Holy Child
I'll still wait for one in Milwaukee.
I'm from the U.S.A., and I'm very confident that SOME DAY SOON we'll win a world cup. Someday before 2050.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey Jacob, betcha we win in the next decade.
Just look at all the young talent on its way.

I believe that usa will win the world cup maybe 2038 or 2042 cause they got third place in 1930 world cup
We are coming!
"Do I think the US will win the world cup? No, Im Being Realistic here. Do I think the US has the ability to? Definitely."
I wonder what he means by that.
P.S. I really think that the USA team can do better than they did in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. They can go further than just 1/8 finals (or Round of 16). They are capable of much more.
Azer Efendizade we didn’t even qualify..... 😂
Danny Vergara for 2018
DSO exactly
What kind of logic is that
This is the World Cup anything can happen I'm not saying we're going to win but let's get out there and make some noise.

Lhunannon Ramos Respect to you! Also, I just want to have faith in the team, and the players need faith in themselves.
Yes lets hope for a great world cup filled with energy and emotion.
José Ramos Love Portugal's style. Their world cup is coming soon :)

USA always produce good goalkeepers like Kasey Keller and Hop Solo.
Hope solo , mostly =D
Tim howard
Mario Ng well the u.s. with over 4 million registered soccer players they had better produce a few good ones.
Brad Friedel
victor valdes...wait what?
Solid team and they have Klinsi. US boys can do some damage, no doubt !
Yes, they can do some damage to themselves!
USMT will come stronger next world cup and in Copa America. Klinsmann has transformed the mentality, tactics, also instilled discipline and unity within the team. Things can only get better as long as the MLS and youth development system are taken seriously.
Good game USA, you played well. Greetings from Croatia
Jurgen Klinsman is a awesome guy, He was always a good striker for Germany national team, A nightmare for every defence.
Good to see soccer growing in my country, and that the US is going to Brazil. I'm fairly new to soccer myself. LETS GO, USA USA USA!!!
Ok at 1:40.....no. Columbus did not discover the US. There were inhabitants all across the americas WAAAY before he got there. And besides, he sailed around the caribbean. Oh the historical inaccuracies.

The USA did good in the World Cup, yay!

Klinsmann is a legend ,this should be interesting.
Klinsmann is a good coach, but he will park the bus vs Germany and probably Portugal, Its hard to see them getting out of the group but if they don't lose to Portugal and get a win vs Ghana then they can make it out with 4 points and manage to go through on GD
Yes but it's hard to see him not playing defensively against Germany. The US beat Germany 4:3 because Germany were using their C team.
Asa Becker
We most likely don't stand a chance, but on any given day any team can be victorious. Still, the US pales in comparison to Germany and Portugal when it comes to football (never calling it soccer, I don't care what my fellow Americans think).
hope they can repeat 2002.
I see it more like Us losses to Germany like 3 to 1, then ties with Portugal 1 to 1, and beats Ghana 1 to 0...US leaving with 3points
Roger Arvizu *4 points

Like ur comment, it's soo true

Great Video much respect.
I can see the future of soccer in the U.S will become the most popular sport Why? Because it's a beautiful game.
Wow Positive Coach lmao
Landon Donovan is the best American layer and he will score a lot of GOOOOOAAALLLLSSSS!!!!!!!!
He is not going to the world cup, unfortunately.
you mean Clint Dempsey
He will score a lot of goals behind that microphone lol

This time around i think they can strongly secure a win to ghana, third time should be the charm
Let's go usa!
Very Good Time Was That World Cup
i
I'm going to have nightmares about this game until at least next world cup.
Ghana 27.500 registerd Football players
USA 4.186.778
Portugal 132.734
Germany >6.000.000
Just for the stat geeks here
You also have to look population size.
Yanks and football in the same sentence?! You must be joking.
Americans love football, it is our favorite sport! But we think Soccer is for sissies. We will root for the team representing us though.
It is the 3rd most popular sport in terms of attendance and popularity and 2nd Among youths!
I do say, Ghana will be our first victory. Portugal and Germany however will be tough and I think we can pull a win over Portugal. I just hope to hold a draw with Germany to advance.
I don t think that usa is going to win germany and portugal. Its my opinion
There is a chance against Portugal. Germany however doesn't look to good.
I still think that usa can t beat portugal, maybe they can draw, but probaly usa is going to win gana. Im being realistic
Being realistic would mean that you have taken in account that ANYTHING can happen.
True
Highlight of this qualifying campaign... Taking Panama out of the Intercontinental Play-Off in under the last 2 min. Panama needed the win to guarantee the match vs New Zealand, a tie if Mexico loosed. Panama was winning 1-0 until the last 2 minutes, thanks to that Bosnia-Herzegovina are the only debutants
Have a nice flight home Ronaldo
Dalton Morgan Usa too
Klinsman was a great coach
The U.S national team was alright. I respect the performance because by making it second out of the group they showed that organization and game plan can compete with talent. Costa Rica was an even better team devoid of the world class talent world beaters have and they made it to the quarter finals. Mexico was about as good as Costa Rica and whether they got robbed or not proved it. Hats off to the USMNT for showing that.
