- Growing pumpkins and other vegetables in my backyard was such a fulfilling activity. Seeing the fruts of your labour is even more encouraging. I will also be showing you local native foods in Kenya, East Africa and how we prepare these foods. We also use the local traditional stove that uses charcoal to prepare meals. See and learn how we do things from this part of the world! Enjoy!

Hi Sharon! What a lovely garden you have. I was fortunate to grow up with grandparents who gardened. Not all American children are as fortunate. They had a huge garden at their house and one down the street on a piece of property they owned. It was one hundred feet by two hundred feet and was all garden. They grew everything! So I’m very bless to have grown up knowing how to garden, harvest and put up (can and/or freeze) our harvest. It’s certainly come in handy in my life. I would like to have a stove like yours. I enjoy cooking. I enjoy watching others enjoy what I have prepared. I used to work in a bakery. All the chickens in the background sound so sweet. And the food looks so yummy. Ooh what a lovely message from you my dear! I'm glad your grandparents introduced you to farming and I'm sure you loved it just as I love mine! Eating what you have produced is so fulfilling! I'm sure given a chance, you'd pass the knowledge to the next generation as well 😍...by the way that stove (we call it jiko) uses charcoal and it comes in handy. Here, it has been used through generations and we've kept the custom 😍 If there is a way it can get to you, I wouldn't mind sending you one 😊😊😊
