As an American, I really learned a lot during my trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland last spring. The history there is incredible. The people are great and the land is beautiful.
When Syracuse changed the name from the former Orangemen, I thought, did this get political? Who got offended? Because I thought, isn't that a thing in Ireland?😊
My dad was Scots-Irish but he was a true Episcopalian and loved everyone. Love you Pops, the best dad ever.

The scots Irish made important contributions to America’s military success at the battle of Kings mountain in the revolution; at the battle of New Orleans in the war of 1823; at the Alamo. Our best generals - Grant, Patton, Jackson, Davey Crocket, MacArthur sprang from such roots. It’s not surprising the cross of St Andrew was incorporated in the confederate battle flag.

Your incorrect Rick. The protestants in the northern province of Ulster hand picked the 6 counties which enabled them to rule with a 2:1 ratio. The other 3 counties of Ulster where discarded as too many catholics lived there. They became part of the Irish free state. Northern Ireland functioned as a one party apartheid state until suspended in 1971. Not 1 Catholic was even a minister in 50 year's of government from 1921-71

Rick I'm a big fan of your videos but these Orange parades are not something I'd encourage American tourists to visit.
