  • BMW G80 M3 6 Speed RWD Lowering EIBACH Euro Front Only Spring Kit. This is the first lowering kit I will be testing to try out and so far it truly works like OEM which is a good thing. Ride quality, handling is awesome thanks to the amazing shock dampening and suspension design of the G80 platform. This lowered the front .78 and give is a nice OEM enhanced appearance without being slammed. I will be testing the H&R Sport Springs next which is a front and rear kit that lowers the front 1.2 inches and the rear .40. I also have in stock the KW HAS kit but I am leaning towards selling it because of the requirements of removing the front shocks and pressing out the shock seat which is far more labor to swap back and forth on these kits. the MSS kit is a far easier HAS system to install and I may feature that soon as well.

    I'm so so so happy you bought this vehicle instead of a bronco! I had begged in the older video where you were considering it to go to a BMW dealership. I was recommending a MX3 or MX5. I hope you enjoy this vehicle to the fullest. Sorry if I came off like a dick but your voice reminds me of home. BK NY NYPD ALL DAY

    …it’s really unfortunate that these high performance vehicles (especially modified ones) have to be driven on less than perfect road conditions. Stephen thanks for sharing the engineering of these cars is really good. the QV is an incredible car when it runs and treats you right but if you experienced any of the issues with bad dealers and lack of manufacture support like I did then that is clear why you made the switch. How long did you own the QV and was it reliable for the most part or did you go through hell like i did which eventually made me move on after 4.5 years.

      @thoopra Год назад

      @@autofanaticcars Oh no, they don't do front only springs. It's only about a .8" (20mm) drop on all four corners, whereas the H&R's (for the Supra at least) are 1" front and .75" rear. I typically also prefer a more aggresive drop but decided to go conservative with Eibachs due to snow here in UT and daily driving.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Год назад +2

      not sure what engineering went into these with Eibach but this front spring only upgrade is very popular in Europe not so much in the USA because the USA dealers can not supply the parts. Overall if you want subtle this is perfect with no change in handling other than more front camber which helps turn in and steering but ride comfort is identical to OEM. if you want extreme this is not for you. I recently removed these Eibach front springs and sold to a friend and did the H&R Sport Springs all around and love them because it lowered the entire car more and also firmed up the handling which is what I wanted, I like rock hard stiff, others do not but the H&R to me feels perfect for the street.

      coming from someone who daily drove a Shelby GT350 for 3 years in the NYC area it all depends where you live if you live in the NYC metro area or similar conditions absolutely no way in hell would I suggest a GT350 to daily the roads are so bad and dangerous and youll never enjoy the car. if you live in the wide open country with smooth driving roads then for sure you would love it every single mile you put on the GT350. think about your lifestyle, road conditions and how you will use it. the Shelby has plenty of room for daily use as well. I have so many videos on the GT350 on this channel from a few years back you may want to take time to watch some of them and this should really help you decide.

      @@autofanaticcars This is great insight, thank you. I recently purchased a second car so the M3 sits and that is what got me thinking...is the M3 special enough to just sit and drive occasionally, or would something like a GT350 scratch that itch better. The M3 is an amazing do it all car, especially with xdrive, but I am not sure it is special enough just as a weekend car.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Год назад +1

      Nick there is no other car like the GT350 and I mean that even a $300K Porsche wont give you the same visceral rawness of that Shelby because the Porsche has refinement, full leather wrapped interior, sound isolation and insane precise build plus all the bells and whistles. The Shelby is just balls out RAW take it or leave it and deal with the crap interior quality, lack of modern tech and bad body fit and finish and paint because what it rewards you when driving you forget about all the luxuries fast. The Shelby is not for everyone because it rattles, vibrates, sucks fuel, rides hard and may not be what you want. You need to decide if that is what your ultimately after. This is the reason i started this channel 4 years ago was to discuss the ownership of the GT350 and why it is so special. The M3 Comp AWD Automatic is not exciting enough for my personal taste which is why I got the RWD Manual. It is a perfect daily driver for my life right now I do enjoy it. You may want to look into an E92 M3 those cars are awesome.

      I just refueled from E and i now checked after your reply, my gauge shows around 12mpg average and my car is still in break in mode. the one thing about this car is the fuel tank is small just like the E60M5 i had so depending on how you drive the range is bottle necked by the fuel capacity. fully fueled it gives me a range of only-210 miles on the dash gauge of course this will change on driving conditions. hope this helps but these cars are not using any type of hybrid tech that other BMW cars are which is great to be honest. Hi Scott they ride exactly like stock however the car feels much better with the slight lower up front it increased your camber and caster and makes the steering feel way better and response as well. If you want a simple lowering for the G8X this is it unless you do a full HAS kit or something else. I researched every option on the market and many springs have noise and rubbing issues and even some HAS kits are headaches. I hate to say this, but as a long time BMW, car enthusiast… mr. auto fanatic. I don’t know if this is your first Bmw or anything but you never want to mix springs as your tampering with the suspension system which could upset the car which is dangerous. Also, BMWs don’t take highly likely to suspension modifications that ruin what Bmw has designed the car around… but in general never mix springs don’t cut your springs. Don’t mix the springs from the front to the back and do not only lower the front of the car. If you’re doing this to save money, then why are you buying an M car? Do it the right way and buy a full spring kit or a HAS kit so you can adjust the ride height.. but in general messing with the suspension system, can cause you to lose control of your car, which is in dangerous others on the road so please always take caution when you are modifying your suspension with a high horsepower vehicle

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Год назад +5

      Brian I have owned many M cars and modified them all, Eibach properly engineered these springs in conjunction with the OEM rears. These are not cut springs or some generic spring. there are zero affects on handling to negate the changes made. keeping any car stock is not for me never was for 30 years. I test products and modify cars for a living this is how I offer these options to customers based off my testing and real world feedback which is why I have invested over $3000 in spring kits already to try out.

      @@autofanaticcars I have to disagree when you are changing spring rates on your vehicle. You want to ensure the balance is stable on the vehicle? Specially when pushing it hard. Again proper way to modify. Your suspension is to change the springs with a kit that all works together in balance and if you really wanted to step things up, you can always go with a height adjustable kit, so that way you can corner balance to vehicle if you want.
