    Awesome man! I didn’t know they were determinate. Really appreciate the knowledge 💪🏽

    Here is how to get lots of determinate potatoes in a grow bag. Grow them near the bottom as you did but then fill them up with 6-8 inches more soil and plant two more at right angles to the first two. All four will grow potatoes on their own level so you'll have twice as many in the bag.

    I love red potatoes, I didn’t realize they came in determinate varieties. Good video and garden share! Happy gardening!

    Thanks for sharing! Red potatoes are the best. If I grow any potatoes I am going to try to grow red potatoes.

    Just so I know you can layer them in grow bags

    • @PepplesPotager

      I think that would work but I have never tried layering them.

    *Hello, I'm your 62st Thumbs up. New here looking to learn from others that do grow bags. Doing my first potatoes. Thank God we can just use Potting soil, because that's what I have. I've seen so many say all manure. I appreciate you sharing this video. 😊😊😊* Sharon in SC

    Hi. I've just harvested my very first Red Norland potatoes but the skins have little bumps on them which feel nubby to the touch. Can you tell me if this is a feature of Red Norland potatoes or have you seen this on yours? Thank you!

    • @PepplesPotager
      @PepplesPotager  Месяц назад

      @SG-xo3xt It's possible it might be potato scab, but I've never had the problem. Haven't grown them in while . I think they are still safe to eat.

      @PepplesPotager  5 лет назад

      Yeah! I didn't know either until someone watching my videos told me. I'm gonna stick with my red potatoes for now but I might have to try indeterminate ones sometime.

    *How long from planting the Redlands to harvest time? I'm learning as I grow. I'm still trying to remember the difference between determinant an interminant. Is it the same meaning for all plants? I planted mine about a month ago adding layers as they grew. Now the greenery is above the grow bag & looking healthy. Do I wait for the greenery to start dying off? I'll be going in a 5 week vacation & leaving my husband with my plants I'm growing this yr. Mostly Flowers, because I new I wouldn't be here. I appreciate your videos & help. Thank you. 😊😊😊* Sharon in SC

      It's been several years since I've grown potatoes in bags or pots but with Norland Reds it usually takes about 3 months. I've started in March and harvested June. So you should be fine.

    • @PepplesPotager
      @PepplesPotager  2 года назад +1

      I usually wait til the greenery starts to die off but you can harvest Norland Reds earlier if you want. They are called new potatoes. I've harvest new potatoes as early as 60 days.

    What size pot did you use? How long do you wait until harvest? When can you plant them? I'm planting them for the first time this year.

    • @PepplesPotager
      @PepplesPotager  3 года назад +1

      I believe this was a 20 inch pot. Probably best to plant when overnight temps are around 50° or when there is no more chance of freezing temperatures.

    I got some creamers that have 30-45 days left I've been topping them hoping they go wild so far they're growing lots of foliage but I can't speak to actual tubers yet I may see if I can borrow a FLIR.
