Just had mine done today. I was in a bit of pain after the surgery, especially when the anaesthesia began to wear off, but ibuprofen seems to have helped a lot - I’m almost pain free now. This video is great, really helps me to understand what they actually did.
I had mine done like a week ago. The recovery isn’t bad at all. The fact that I can’t eat chips and burgers is more painful than the actual recovery lol.
@@belquintanilla8895 Mine a was local anathesia. It didn’t hurt at all - just felt a lot of pushing and shoving to get the tooth out which I was told was normal. If you can, I would recommend getting CT scan before the surgery. After I wrote that comment I noticed my chin and lower lips still felt numb a few days later, so I went back to the dentist and they told me I’d gotten some nerve damage from the extraction, and they don’t ‘think’ it’s been permanently severed. I haven’t been able to feel my chin for the last 4 weeks, but luckily the feeling is starting to coming back. It was a bit worrying to think that this might’ve been permanent though. They say the chances of it being permanent is 1 in 100, so it isn’t common, but it can happen. Sorry, I know this probably doesn’t help your nerves at all, but I thought it would be best to tell you about the whole experience. A CT scan will help them to see where the nerve sits in relation to the wisdom tooth. I did the scan just before my surgery and they still ended up hitting the nerve so it isn’t a guarantee, but i think it could’ve been worse if I haven’t got it. I know lots of people who had an extraction and didn’t get a scan and were fine, but I personally prefer to take the extra precaution. The chances are 1 in 100. Other than that, everything was fine! Try to avoid touching the wound for a few days to prevent dry socket. Take painkillers and get lots of rest! You’ll begin to feel normal within a few days to a week. Good luck!
Right. I hope we had such fantastic training tools when I was in the dental school back in 1995. We had plastic models that didn't presumable real life situation like this one! There are three missing elements though : 1- Tons of intraoral fluids (bleeding, saliva...). 2- A closed cavity environment, where the entrance is limited, the angulation of surgical instruments insertion is also very limited. 3- The real patient interrupting each once and a while. I enjoyed watching this video, dental students of today are blessed to have such tools, and to have internet to watch it for free. Thank you.
I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. They didn’t put me to sleep, but I did get the laughing gas and the numbing around the area. I didn’t have any pain afterwards. I started taking pain medication before the numbing wore off and I kept an ice pack on all day after the removal. That and a lot of prayer,Is what made this process so smooth for me. So don’t be afraid just make sure you do exactly what the dentist tells you to do and this process will be fine.
I have same issue I shud remove all four all Four are impacted I have been pushing it past 7 years and now one of them started to pain badly now I have decided to remove one atleast n m shit scared 😒🙄

I was out as a teenager when I had my procedure done. Probably the most pain I've ever felt in my life, in all honesty. After about a week or so, this were back to normal. I'm told it's more difficult, though, if you're an adult. Not fun, though, for the average person. Did you guys all 4 of yours out? I did. But glad I had it done as a kid.
@@DrAbdomFora What if you're 25 years old, and the wisdom tooth is already grown? Wouldn't this be easier, since it is not required to penetrate the gums to access the wisdom teeth, as is the case for late teen adolescents?
I'm so glad I didn't have to go through so much of this. My wisdom teeth were already out and it was easy for them to extract them but the pain afterwards was a bitch! 1.5 years of braces and I'm glad I did it. Love my smile!

Saya sudah merasakannya dan memenang benar😭.. sakitnya pas diakhir tapi cuman pembengkakan dan mungkin darah penting tetap memakai kapas sampai 30 menit dan hindari mengeluarkan ludah dan juga berkumur... Minum dengan air dingin setelah 40 menit/1 jam ... Lalu cobalah makan puding. Waktu operasi rasa takut yg menyebabkan kita berimajinasi dengan rasa sakit ... Bersyukur 1 gigi saya sudah hilang.. tinggal 3 lagi😭

The nerve of the tooth (RCT) is only removed when this nerve is affected, when the caries has reached this tissue. Root canal treatment will prevent the tooth from becoming infected and eventually being lost. A well-performed treatment has no side effects.

claro que es posible, incluso muchas veces extraemos muchas piezas dentales y en la misma cirugia colocar múltiples implantes. Lo único que cambia es que la herida será un poco más extensa, pero con los cuidados respectivos todo saldrá bien.

There is no way I am getting this done :) (my dentist recommended this to do after 6 months or 1 year, wisdom tooth isn't affected by cavity, its still growing but she said its in tilted position so it will cause problem in future, she said wait for 6 months or a year to let it grow more and then remove it)

My wisdom teeth grew in towards the others and broke all of them up top. I didn't get them removed because 1 they dont hurt anymore, 2 its expensive af to get the procedure done, and 3 i quickly process drugs and have a demyelinating disease that essentially eats the protective coating on my nerves which amplifies and prolongs pain. If you aint hurting and your teeth aren't moving around then i wouldn't bother. Some places have a specialist that will remove one tooth a month for free like my town has if thats something youre interested in if price is a problem.

They can be preserved only if they are in a good position and there is space in the jaws for them to erupt correctly. Therefore, I advise you to follow your dentist's recommendations.

I have yet to get mine removed and with this video i dont think im gonna. I have a hyper active liver and as a result, process drugs insanely quickly. Ladt time i went to the dentist they gave me 2 hydros, 5 Valium, and a tranquilizer for a root canal because of this condition ( plus the time before that they gave me 12 shots of novacaine in the span of an hour and gas a few minutes after that to no effect) woke up almost completely sober halfway through.

It is true, it is better to extract the wisdom tooth at the age of 17 or 18, the post-operative period is less bothersome and the surgery is quicker.

I recommend that you visit another dentist to perform a re-evaluation, since for a good diagnosis they must perform x-rays if necessary.
how do you do the osteotomy on the jaw bone without damaging the tooth itself?
Bone drills, chisels or bone files may be used, and all of this is controlled by the surgeon so as not to damage other anatomical areas.
