Ian Sallee vinton has been nailed good a couple of times recently. I remember 2011 driving through town on 150 after the July 11th derecho. The tree canopy over the street was completely gone.
Ian Sallee I was living in cedar falls that night. Incredible lighting display off to the south. The light show was so intense that the outdoor lights at the apartment complex shut off from all the light. It was very hot and humid that night. Lots of energy in the atmosphere. From the level of damage they think the winds in vinton got up to 130mph
Really enjoyed it. :)
We had mostly rain and lightning in Vinton

Oh tell me about it! That was awful! At least there was no tornado!

130 mph, that explains why a large tree across the street from me was on the ground
Do you happen to have a video for the 10/9/18 outbreak by any chance? Asking for someone.
Would this be considered a squall line?
Yes! One with an embedded supercell. The technical or "proper" term for a squall line is a QLCS or quasi-linear convective system
👍 I’ll try to remember that
