7 Years! Every 7 years we replace half our friends! Most of us if we named our closest friends right now would discover that 7 years ago half that list was different!

Wow, that's interesting, Shasta! I'm going to sit right down and make a list throughout my life (all 61 years of it) and check it out...this will be interesting! Thanks for the clarification! (I can certainly say my world of friendships has certainly been overhauled since I retired 6 years ago...I've a bunch of new ones in Atlanta and Florida, where I spend 8 months of my year nowadays...love meeting new people...you really have to, because you're growing and changing...hopefully! ;))

Why can’t we have the same friends for life?something I really want because I have not had that stability.

No one is saying you can't keep friends for 'life' - but typically your 'life' friends aren't going to be enough. You might have 1 or 2 friends that last for 'life' - but will you always live in that area or will they? Will you always be in the same space in life to mesh well and see each other often enough? Things happen in life. So she is saying here are some common things that arise that suggest to people they need to work on developing their friendships.

Women replace half of their friends every 7, 17 or 70 years? Maybe my audio is bad...listened to it several times and just couldn't make the number out. (My guess is 17...7 would be really fast! And 70? Well, that's just silly. ;))
