    It is unacceptable for a major brand as Samsung to not support all of the AptX codecs. They just want you to buy their crappy Galaxy Buds when there's better options out there.

      Samsung instead pushes their own codec SSC
      Which isn't bad
      But only Samsung audio devices support it

      @Joel O all samsung buds are crap in comparison to sth like Sennheiser MTW3. There is no excuse to not support aptx adaptive and HD codes! Samsung needs to patch them in!

      If they just removed it because they wanna push their own standard, why are they still offering aptX HD on the Folds and why they don't remove LDAC?
      See, to keep aptX HD, Samsung would be forced to not just pay Qualcomm but also use their chips. This is a good reason for not supporting it. The problem is, furthermore, capitalism itself. Wouldn't companies like Qualcomm try to make money with their stupid gate-kepping practices, we would all agree to have one set of codecs that united us. No, we want to be greedy and cut ourselves, and then, we wanna blame the other ones. Their is already an awesome codec offering high sample rates, offering high bit depth, offering free to use. No one uses it. Why? Because gate-keeping and laziness make money.
      And just to go further, the license for aptX are that kinda messed up that even Linux not including them directly, only as inofficial multiverse stuff. Other codecs and even some proprietary codecs such as AAC and LDAC are out-of-the-box included in the PulseAudio for Linux because their is no trouble and no necessity in paying for it for the OS side. Qualcomm is the one who gate-keeping the codecs to maximize profit. Samsung only disagrees with this.

      People don't know this as soon as you connect to something with aptX it automatically comes on on your phone, I get aptX HD on my 21 and now my s23 try it.

    Yes it's a long-winded video, but, I greatly appreciate the detail you provided here. I recently bought a Avantree Torus AptX neck speaker to use with my metal detector... of which requires AptX LL, but I also want to be able to use that new speaker to listen to music from my Galaxy 10e phone. I'm going to give this trick a try. Thank you!

    Just bought a Galaxy S21 with Snapdragon 888. Totally pissed it doesn't support aptX HD. I have several devices that use it as the best supported codec and I can hear the difference to regular aptX! I am desperate for a solution. Not sure about an external sound card though. Still watching this video.

    • @kevin9c1
      @kevin9c1 Год назад +1

      FWIW, a major part of my issue was that I forgot to switch Pandora to high quality streaming. After I did that quality is acceptable via regular aptX but I'm still mad about it. Fortunately I have a BT receiver in one of my cars that supports LDAC. But the other car I am stuck with what I have and the best there was aptX HD...

    From the Manual:
    This product supports IOS, Android, MAC, LINUX, PS5, PS4, Nintendo, VR system devices, but the Type C interface must support DP function (some devices only support charging, and cannot support AK3040 Pro Max without DP)
    Aptx adaptive high quality: Orange (Red&Yellow), Aptx adaptive low latency: White, Aptx losses: Red Aptx HD: Green, Aptx LL: White, Aptx: Cyan (Blue&Green), SBC: Blue

    It's unfortunate that the only solution we have (next to a custom ROM) is a bulky external adapter just because Samsung wants to push their own in-house scalable codec that isn't compatible with anything, over the aptx HD codecs which are compatible with many things

    • @iTechnologyReviews
      @iTechnologyReviews  Год назад +1

      Hi. Yes. Sadly

    • @alicethegrinsecatz1611
      @alicethegrinsecatz1611 Год назад +1

      They just don't want to use Qualcomm chips all over the world which is required by aptX HD. In addition, they would need to pay license fees. If it would only about pushing their own hardware, they would remove LDAC support, too, right? But they don't because it's not about pushing their own technology, it's about money saving.
      The fundamental problem starts by using proprietary technology in the first place. Their's free liberal codecs with high bit depth and sample rates but no one is pushing it because it's all about money. Why do you think, does the EU defines industrial standards? Because capitalism sucks at this point too much.

    I bought a Creative BT-W5 USB-C dongle to add Apt-x Adaptive to my old OnePlus phone, and to my laptops, after I purchased Soundpeats Air4 Pro earbuds, that have Apt-x Adaptive. I can confirm the Creative BT-W5 works flawlessly with Linux and Windows computers, and with my phone (note: turn OTG on when you plug in the dongle), and since it is USB-C, I don't need another adapter like in the video above (looks so ugly and unwieldy). I'm even using it with my work laptop, because Windows hates pairing with bluetooth earbuds, and this dongle solves that issue, as well as giving better sound and longer range.. It also works really well for calls on computers (MS Teams, in my case).

    I do thank you for your attempt to let people know why this is necessary - but for me, this video was no help. Please indicate much sooner that you are going to suggest adding an external component to the phone in your video. I had to listen for 7:30 before I discovered that your were going to suggest adding a dongle to my phone. This is NOT what I was hoping you were going to suggest as a solution. I'm well aware of this type of solution and it is not a secret or a trick. So I was rather disappointed when I finally got to that point in the video. Cheers.

    Samsung S24 Ultra Released 2024, January 24 : Bluetooth 5.3, A2DP, LE : No 3.5 Headphone jack
    OnePlus 12 Released 2023, December 11 : Bluetooth 5.4, A2DP, LE, aptX HD, LHDC : No 3.5 Headphone jack
    Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro Released 2024, January 18 : 5.3, A2DP, LE, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless : Has 3.5 Headphone jack
