Thanks a ton for all of these SKR videos! I'm in the middle of my first real printer project, swapping an AnyCubic i3 with the SKR EZ, the EZ drivers, a TFT50 and an Biqu H2.
All this info has been fantastic!

I definitely appreciate these videos. I never done this type of thing before and I am a bit nervous at putting it together on a CR-10s Pro. But, I am going to using the SKR 2 motherboard. Would this be close to the instructions I would be using for the SKR 2?

1:38 Don't use 48V for the steppers with 2209s - they go pop. Their datasheet rating is 29V, so a separate stepper driver PSU doesn't get you much over a regular 24V one

This is probably true, they might be used for TMC 5160 or more exotic steppers.

Hi. I've been following along with this and another video to get the sensorless homing to work. For further context, I am using EZ2209 drivers and stepper adapters on my SKR V3.0 (non EZ). Someone else brought this up, for some unknown reason the endstops on X and Y are always triggered and the homing gets thrown off. I tried setting the x and y min endstop inverting to true, but the sanity check throws an error saying that they need to be set to false for sensorless homing on tmc2209 drivers. Z works fine when inverting the endstop to true, but I am stuck on x and y. Have you looked into this? And if so, were you able to find a solution?

EZ2209 used on a non-Ez board will not work.

I would really love to see some troubleshooting of the things that can go wrong with sensorless homing. I can't get it to work. The motor just crashes & keeps hammering away. I'm no dummy, but I can't find any information on whether it's current settings, Marlin settingsn ect. I'm at a loss. SKR3EZ with 2209EZ drivers.

I'll take a look. Remember there's a Discord link in description and either myself or someone else can help.

    Hi,
First of all thanks for all the work you put into these Big Tree Tech board videos. I have an SKR3 EZ that after 3 months of use no longer communicates with raspberry pi via USB. I searched on the internet how I could make the connection via CAN FD but I couldn't find anything. In the meantime, could you also publish a video on how to connect SKR3 EZ with rasperry pi via CAN FD? I would like to know if he died at all or not.
    Thank you.

On SKR 3 there's a white button near USB port it maybe causing the issue. Power down system. Press it once and power back up system. Let me know if it fixes issue.

@@EdwardBraiman I tried that button. Same thing. I'm trying to connect to CAN but I can't. I don't know what else to do. I used Fluidd, Mainsail, Octoprint. It's the same for all:
      Klipper reports: ERROR
      mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the
"FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.

Using an SKR3, there are a lot of comments online about getting "TMC CONNECTION ERROR" on M122, any thoughts on this? Stonewalled by this issue.

Hi, wil there be a video about a bltouch on a skr 3? I am trying to install one on my skr 3 and it does not work(although the wiring is correct and the software(z probe pin PC13) as it needs to be. Any ideas?

Normally I avoid 3d touch and BLT as they are difficult ensure functionality. There's a Discord room in my discord channel.

Just a note BTT has changed the chip on this board from the STM32H743VG to a STM32H723VG. I have gone through multiple Merlin versions but I could not find a SKR 3EZ with this chip. I am currently stuck! Any ideas?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  Год назад

I'd need to look, check boards.h and see if it's in there with board name. Should be written to right of name. Also which version of Marlin are you using?

    • @enaudeni

@@EdwardBraiman Last night I found a Nightly build Marlin-bugfix-2.1.x. So I set the processor to STM32H723x_btt. Under "boards.h" it had "BOARD_BTT_OCTOPUS_MAX_EZ_V1_0 6008 // BigTreeTech Octopus Max EZ V1.0 (STM32H723VE / STM32H723ZE)" - correct processor but wrong board. So I had to then select the board to this. To remap the pins for a SKR 3 EZ board I had to go over into "pins" folder then into "stm32h7" folder go in to the "pins_BTT_SKR_V3_0_EZ.h" copy the "#include "pins_BTT_SKR_V3_0_common.h" command. Then in "pins_BTT_OCTOPUS_MAX_EZ.h" I removed all pins mapping and inserted #include "pins_BTT_SKR_V3_0_common.h" This has compiled and I tested the SKR 3 EZ board on my test bench and seems to work. Will need further testing to confirm everything is fine. But it has been so hard to get to this point, I am not a programmer but thank goodness for youtubers like yourself and tutorials all over the web.
