Hi Belinda! Don't fret too much, when we get them all together, they will take on a totally new look! Also, you'll have to opportunity to block the blanket when it's finished and that's a great time to "nudge" all those little seams, angles and edges into the right place ;)

I'm excited for my August block and I'm kinda glad its a easy peasy because I'm doing 3 blankets again this year. I hope you & Mr. in-Stitches are staying safe. Are you having trouble finding yarn since the pandemic. We'll all probably use up a lot of our stash now since we can't buy any. I have been able to find a little at yarnspiration. Anyway I'm about to make my blocks tonight.

Totally! You can use the basic double crochet stripe pattern to make a project of any size!

Hi, Jayda! I love your tutorials SO much - this is the first calendar blanket I’ve done, and it’s so great!
I do have a question: As you create your squares, do you find that some are larger than others? For some reason, I’m finding that this square and the three-stripe square (also 36-stitch rows) are significantly larger than the others even though I’m using the same hook, yarn, etc. I’ve even tried reworking the squares, but they still are much larger. What would you recommend? I didn’t want to reduce stitches to match size because “36” seems to be the magic number...just really want it to turn out great!

Hi Jessica, often it's just a tension thing, so if you do want to rework one of the larger squares, you can try crocheting tightly. Otherwise, don't worry about it :) You can block the smaller squares so that they size up a bit before joining if you feel that will help :)
Jayda InStitches I definitely tried to adjust my tension on the reworks, but it still wasn’t enough...I’ll plan on blocking those other squares prior to final assembly...thanks for getting back to me! Really love your videos! ❤️✌️

Hi Carol, we use the dc stitch for all of the squares in this year's blanket :)
Can you take this design and put a shell as a border
Hi Reba, you can use a shell border on this square design, yes. You just need to space out your shells every 3 sts (with a ch-1 in between each shell along the side and 2 chs between the corner shells) :)

Regina DiDonato Jayda has a new square released on the first Friday of each month to make 12 squares. Look up Folk Art Blanket and they should all come up.
This is the August installment of the 2020 calendar blanket. There is a playlist of all the installments so far. She has a new one the first Friday of each month. Then assembles after the last block in December so it is finished in time for holiday gift giving.
