Broadcast radio is still pretty cool. I like to listen to Dee Snider's House of Hair radio show ! It comes on every weekend. Also radio is free. You gotta like that.😎👍
Technically it receives radio stations, although it sounds like the circuits are straining to handle what the stations are feeding. However, if you were looking for an emergency radio this would work perfectly, and for $5 it would be hard to beat!
I listen to WRTI every day. Classical until 6:00 PM and then jazz. It's from Temple University in Philadelphia. As far as Christmas movies go, I always watch "Scrooge." It's an English film from 1951 with Alastair Sim. He is the best. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend.
This radio seems like something you could find at a Dollar Tree somewhere. In fact, many years ago, I got a portable radio from a Dollar Tree, but not in this style of shell. It was a tiny thing not much bigger than the circuit board itself, and it had a headphone jack instead of a speaker and ran on one AAA battery.
When I read "most basic", I was like, How did they get a crystal and a cat's whisker....or a razor blade and some graphite inside that thing and make it work? LOL! Heck, that radio is fancy. It's even super-heterodyne!
I bought a small ‘50s style radio that is also got Bluetooth on Amazon because I needed a new Bluetooth speaker to be completely honest it kinda sucks the Bluetooth has a mind of its own when it wants to work and when you want to listen to the radio you have to turn the radio just to get the station to come in while you have your hand on it when your in the house when you’re outside it works a lot better with the signal for being a small radio that fits in your hand it was $45 Canadian
I'd bought one for myself from a Walgreens a while back, just for the fun of it. Then when the winter storm knocked out the power here in Texas, and this was our only working radio. Whole family huddled around this tiny radio like it was 50s.
I bought this in December after watching your review. I love radios and have several. I listen to all of them including this one. I would say I am a proud owner.
Got my 45 adapter today. I love it! This little novelty radio reminds me of a little transistor radio my uncle gave me as a gift. It was an AM radio in the shape of a baseball. I wish I still had it today.
I found a little more information on line. It was made in Japan in the 60’s by Toshiba. I think the start up date was 1961. It was AM with a whopping 6 transistors. There’s one on eBay but it rebranded from another manufacturer.
My daughters gave this to me for christmas last year being a audio nut they got it it works pretty well it does not look like a dollar store item reception at my hose is bad!!! but I can get some fm and it looks like the radios of old I keep it with my collection of audio things an d I started playing with it as soon as I saw this vid so that was fun JRo

I always like listening to Nights with Alice Cooper. I also used to love Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell.

I love that version but my favorite is the George C Scott version filmed in the 1980’s. It present the characters as real people and not caricatures.
I have a couple of these. I use an FM antenna amplifier on mine just for the hell of it and it it works well.
Most people see a novelty radio
I see a cheap, easy-to-implement radio module upgrade for a portable record player.
You had five dollars worth of fun with the radio! I'm going to try to find one too!
Awesome! Enjoy!
❤ I went to Walgreens and got the same radio little did I know it was FM only but still a nice
A green LED can say "retro" more than a blue LED can.
Lovely little Radio-I think I would invest $5 Dollars,in one of these,should I have seen them !!
They have them at Walgreens for Christmas. First saw them last year amongst the other little gift items.

Cute Radio. The screw in the battery cover is an EU reg to stop kids eating the batteries. (Might be USA also.)
If you own or asking landlord, Put an FM Antenna up outside or in attic. I too love terrestrial radio! Keep Doing U! Merry Christmas to you and wife!😎
What a brutal coincidence, I was reading about this very same product a moment ago.
I like radio; too bad there is not anything good on it anymore, as you have demonstrated. The only listenable thing was the Christmas music.

Would be interesting to add a headphone socket and hear how good the line out sound is. Obviously mono but seems quite sensitive.
Pretty sure that I remember VWestlife coverin' one of those (but under a different brand).
As I collect/restore, I have a couple of these cute little gems...as part of my novelty collection.
I heard about this radio and bought it from my doll group ! It's the perfect size for a doll !
Thanks for the review! It is an intriguing stocking stuffer idea. 😊

Thank you for your support! A baseball radio would be amazing.

I would like to give you my top 10 Christmas movies. It’s just my opinion but you might find it fun.
That would be cool! If you wouldn’t mind commenting on the Raina’s Place video itself, that would be perfect! Would love to see your list!
@@Recordology Sure, that would be be great.
