Cutter in this video is our 3 flute straight flute tool, 6mm diameter with a 1/2" shank. Cutter is designed for tight nesting and efficient feed rates. Process 3/4" veneered particle board and plywood at speeds of 800+ in/min in a single pass.
This past year, Techno CNC Systems has released their own brand of high quality, high performance, CNC tooling at an impressive price. With the arsenal growing due to customer demand, Techno CNC is releasing their new 6mm cabinet creator. This tool was designed with the woodworking and cabinet manufacturing industries in mind. The multi flute, straight flute geometry allows for users to maximize efficiency on their CNC router cutting through standard ¾” plywood and veneered wood materials in a single pass at upwards of 800 inches/min.
Typically, manufacturers would choose a compression tool for these types of jobs, but the spiral geometry of these tools wears much quicker when cutting through veneered wood materials, adding an unwanted additional expense to the manufacturing process. Additionally, depending on the diameter of the tool, compression cutters need to be run through material in multiple passes, still running at slower feeds and speeds.
This type of feedback is what got the engineers at Techno CNC excited about developing theSW6M1278-3S tool. With a 6mm cutting diameter and a shank that is ½”, the tool is robust and strong, guaranteed to leave a smooth clean edge finish. With the smaller cutting diameter, this also allows users to nest parts much more tightly than they would have using other, larger diameter compression tools. The straight flute geometry has no problem cutting and maintaining a sharp cutting edge, reducing costs during the manufacturing process.
