3/4" thick double sided veneered MDF cut on a CNC
This company was looking to penetrate the cabinet and furniture making business to add as a service in their contracting business. They purchased the Titan machine second hand from another machine shop who had initially purchased the machine for a series of custom jobs that required the larger format that the CNC router provides, but also while maintaining the accuracies you can expect from an enclosed CNC Mill. The jobs have been completed and citywide, being a friend of the original owner didn't hesitate to buy the machine from them and immediately get started with their cabinet making venture.
In the video we are cutting 3/4" thick double sided veneered MDF. All the parts being cut are Glass inlayed cabinet doors. We used our Techno CNC SW141478-2D cutter to pocket and clear away the material to a 3/8" depth for the glass inlay running the machine at 18,000 rpm spindle speed and 360 inches/min feedrate. We then followed up with our Techno CNC CM383878 compression cutter to cut all of the interior and exterior cutouts for all the doors. We ran this tool at 18,00 rpm spindle speed and 525 inches/min feedrate, cutout in a single pass.
A project that would normally take our customer over a week to accomplish (processing 10 of these sheets) was all completed in a matter of hours. 1 on-site training session to be exact.
