The fact that you pulled a whole ass friggin snow plow out with a Honda pilot has fully solidified my faith and belief in the platform for camping and off roading purposes
New sub but immediately I saw Puerto Vallarta and knew exactly which Freddie’s you were at! Live close by it and have to say as a near future mini-van camper I needed to see this. Watching so many people venture south during the winter and being a snow lover was getting discouraged. Great editing and style of filming! Thx.
I previously had a 2004! Loved it so much I upgraded to a 2015! Fun tip on older Pilots: If you can’t get the alarm to stop going off use the key to manually unlock/lock the trunk, repeat 5 times.
Hey Jordy!, this is a great video, I love winter camping videos, and even better your using a freaking Honda Pilot!. It looks like my old one I used to have in 2009/2010. I bought a 2003 Honda Pilot EXL but my insurance was $300/month!, so I sold it to someone else.... I miss her so much, I am getting another Honda Pilot soon. They handle so well in the winter I found lol. I subbed to you, love your videos, keep it up!. Cheers.
@@JordyLindquist No problem!. Not yet, but im reallllllly thinking about it!. Won't be for a year or so and I will probably get one used. Thanks for the reply, and cheers!!.
Newbie here and so glad I found this video!!! If you don’t mind, how do you clean your dishes after cooking and what do you do with your dirty water? Just pour on the ground? I’m used to camping in a trailer but reeeaaally want to start some car camping in random locations (how did you find this one?). Thanks again for posting!!!
Hey Castle Ranch! Thanks for the comment. When it comes to dishes I either wipe then down with a sanitizing wipe, wash with soap and water, or if it is just an overnight trip I wrap them in a garbage bag, put them back in the tote, and wash them when I get home haha. In terms of the location I fish there in the summer and in the winter WA state turns it into a snowpark for camping.
Thanks for sharing such an amazing video! I can’t wait to do the same with my 07 pilot. I recently installed a 2” lift kit and worked on the suspension. Are those all season or winter tires?
@@JordyLindquist Thank you for taking the time to reply! I ended removing the lift kit due to vibrations at highway speeds. Based on suggestions I’ll install a 3 inch kit that it’s supposed To put less strain on the cv axles. I went with cooper at3 4S tires, they are very good in snow and surprisingly not that loud on the highway. Thanks again!
Great video! Subbed! Learning the routine of car camping online and it's helpful. Weird question, do you think a moonroof is worth it? I can get a great deal for a based model SUV, but it doesn't have a moonroof. I fear the car would feel like a coffin when camping. Any advice? Thanks!
Thanks for the subscription Aerohk! And no such thing as a weird question on this channel haha. Moonroof is a nice plus but isn't a necessity. You would be fine without it. One thing I would have liked to do with my Pilot is make the bed a bit lower so I have more head room. What type of vehicle are you doing your camping in?
Short answer, yes. Long answer, in most cases it is front wheel drive. If traction control notices slippage it will send power to the back wheels. You can lock it in 4 wheel drive but it has to be in 1st, 2nd, or Reverse gear.

Couldn't believe it myself haha. Go Honda
Has this guy looked at himself in the mirror? He doesn’t need to do any solo camping! I’d be right there keeping him warm!
Haha I appreciate the kind words E Johnson!
Great video man! I don't have a Honda Pilot, but I really feel like after watching this, I can do this too! Good content.
He does mention his girlfriend

Great video! Just wondering if you have muzzled the VCM on your pilot? I’m planning on getting one

Thank you!
I have a 2013 pilot love to camp. Thanks for some ideas.
No problem! You could definitely build a sweet set up in there.
You lost me when you lied about the tow truck incident. Ouch. Fun stuff.
Lied?
Nice watch 💪
Haha thanks. Got it the unit at Walmart.
Nice!

Sorry for the late reply here. Hope your setup is going well. Just regular all season tires on the ol' Pilot haha

It’s kind of sad you have to get out of your car all the time make food and then make coffee . Brrrr
Hope you didn’t fall sick after eating that
Hey man love the video, do you have snow tires ?
Nope! Just all seasons on it. She's ready for some new one's though that's for sure haha
Do you normally sleep with all the windows and doors closed? Obviously in the winter you want to stay warm that way but is suffocation ever a concern?
Not really. I actually leave a window cracked at night typically. Especially when using the propane Buddy Heater.
Thank you! Enjoyed ❤️‼️
Glad you enjoyed!
No heat?
I use the propane Buddy Heater at night instead of running the car.
Ur car dont have 4wd?
The good ol' Pilot has AWD that can be locked into true 4WD at low speeds
What CA mountain area is this?
This is actually in WA in the Cascade mountain range. Specifically around Snoqualmie pass.
@@JordyLindquist looks sweet👍🏼
i would have loved to do this but my sister wrecked the car.
Sorry to hear :/ Hope you're able to go vehicle camping at some point!
