Fun Fact: Did you know that the Modern County fair started in Pittsfield, MA in 1807 when Elkanah Watson The "Father of the County Fair" who was a sheep farmer came up with the idea of holding a town fair with Sheep Sheering demonstrations and Contests to win prizes? By 1820 he had helped much of New England to start their own Agricultural Societies and County Fairs. History like this and how things develop through the decades fascinates me!
