- Someone had to make it one day. Seems fitting it'd be me.
That's the least I can do to bring some justice for a character with such great potential. And maybe make them reconsider this decision...

After seeing the WHAT IF episode, I can see that this has got to be the best ending ever. Neither Meggy or Desti dies, everybody lives happily ever after

4mrs There is a sense of logic to SMG4 in that it's internally consistent with it's rules.
I like this alt ending. It's more sentimental and close to home. It has so much emotion and I actually REALLY love the amount of skill put into the animation.
Granted I still believe Desti should be dead because emotional impact and story (then again I'm a writer as much as an artist so maybe the average viewer wont pick up on that)
But I'm very open to the idea (and creative concepts on how) that Desti escaped alive and now sorta joins the group as a secondary character. It'd be cool to not only see *how* exactly she escaped but to see her reasoning (which would likely be that she didn't want to leave the people that saved her life and the girl that she almost died with)
And again, the amount of emotion here is actually phenomenal. Just reading the text without audio, while a few grammatic errors, still gets the feelings across. I can feel Meggy's relief, their bond, the warmth, and just through how they talk, they're personalities, Meggy's tomboyish but emotional nature and Desti's a jackass but she's a jackass that cares.
As much as I'd like her to stay dead....I actually would love an ending like this equally. Yeah I'd probably be like "ugh this is such bad writing and goes against everything they lead up to" for a few days but eventually I'd realize "hey this isn't so bad..."
10/10 alt ending. I would've loved the movie just as much if this ending is there. And animation is stellar. Amazing job!!

In terms of mistakes - yes, there may be some typos here and there but sadly that's the language barrier for a russian guy like me. I'm just glad that I managed to make their personalities believable even despite this barrier.

Other than that I really do commend the animation, you did amazing, especially with enhancing the emotion through their body movements.

Now this would’ve been great. While her death was depressing, it did make for a great story nonetheless. But to have her return would’ve been so amazing. Also this deserves more attention, the animation is STUNNING and it truly does seem feasible!

@@premiumduck1470 so far, in regards to Luke and Kevin noticing my animation - they either still haven't seen it or they have seen it and they don't care. There's only so much I can do about it. If someone close to them would show my work, that would at least gave it a chance.

I watch this ending everytime to flush away my sadness and depression of Desti's death. (I keep bursting in tears from June 28 2019 to May 25 2021)
i was getting ready to rewatch meggy’s destiny since i just got the desti hoodie and i came across this- absolutely amazing, i applaud you!
WHAT A Good ending
No question, this is what should’ve happened in the main timeline. Desti’s death was sad, but made no sense since the characters have regularly shaken off worse hits then a simple stab through the stomach. Including Desti.
But, If she was faking it to motivate Meggy, or at the very least died and got better like they normally do, it would’ve made more sense within the universe on top of giving us Meggy’s character arc.
More so…this animation is just really good.
Alternative ending? More like True Ending!!!

As I usually reply, since it's my own spin on SMG4's movie, I'd give him an honor of explaining that since he sure would be able to quickly come up with the idea. But as for my version, it's gonna be one big movie that's currently in production until 2021 at best, considering my relatively low experience of animations.

Good thing I watched this video several months AFTER the movie. This alternate ending wasn't actually needed! You see Meggy moved on with her life to live it to the fullest, come to terms with Desti's passing to never look back and even made new friends. As if nothing happened, everybody got to move on eventually you know. Can't stay sad forever, you'd be missing so much more in life if you stay sad. There's a new fan favorite now that people are loving just like Desti, Melony! But still, this alternate ending is really made so wonderfully like as if its SMG4's editing. Its so sweet to see Meggy hugging Desti(?) twice. But Desti is old news ya know, a good memorable character though.
The worst kind of words that a fan could've ever heard are the ones telling that "your character is old news, she's done, we've got ourselves a new hotness". And with such atrocious amount of plot holes and visual sins no one can tell me that creating a character with great potential and disposing of her after just several episodes when we just started to see her growing, and then milking her death for fans' PTSD is a great way to go. I will never accept such flawed "canon".
This is amazing animation quality you have. Also this should have been the real ending because it's awesome story line on how you put this.

This is a top notch animation. Suprisingly, you've topped SMG4's ability! And this would make such a great ending, too. If only the great SMG4 saw this, himself. I bet he'd be proud of you.

@@Goofyahhsmg It's been a month since release and I never stopped trying to reach them every way possible - Twitter, Discord, Reddit, everything I could possibly use. But despite all the recognition from the community and overall appreciation they didn't react to it at all. Like it never happened. And during their recent "Ask Me (almost) Anything" session which turned to be a shame due to the fact that only 2-3% of all question were answered, my thoroughly prepared list of questions was completely ignored and I mentioned this short at the end of it. Asked them nicely and politely. I don't know what to think at this point.
@@wingfury Well, ddon't give up. Maybe one dasy SMG4 will notice it. And he might've actually noticed it! But didn't really comment on it. Not everything will get what recognition it needed, but to be honest, He'd be proud of the personality you kept as how it was originally. Not many people do that. seeing that you did all rthat is all that really matters. And the fact the fans are aware of it is quite worth it, too.

She Respawned At Her Team Area.
So, now I want to hear "That long story" that Desti promised Meggy.
According to my prediction, Mario somehow remembered there were 1UP mushrooms in the mushroom kingdom.
He then remembered that fatful moment Desti got stabbed by Sephiroth's knife.
He decided to use the opportunity to swim out to sea, find Desti's grave, open it, insert the 1UP mushroom into her mouth, and bada bing, bada boom, Desti came back to life! (Plz make this a video)
So damn good for an alternate ending! The animation's smooth af!

Dude, Luke said Desti won't be appearing anymore, she somewhat showed up in a few videos after "Meggy's Destiny". Memories of her and the picture from "Meggy moves in", and the hair on that one watermelon while mentioning her meeting Meggy and her funeral from "I can't believe it's not SMG4!" Im kinda getting my hopes up for this... and since they didn't answer or watch this video on reddit, they might be planning something to her. Luke is slowly changing his mind...

I appreciate your optimism, my friend. But the thing is that Luke's plan on this is pretty clear - he isolated Meggy from her universe by cutting all possible ties to her origin. Once he gets rid of her inkling voice by quickly hiring some VA, it's all gonna end for good. He keeps referring to the anime arc because he knows that this arc is the crown of his success and his modern episodes won't be near as good as it was. He says that he wants us to move on when in reality he doesn't. He needs this arc to keep the empty hype. That's my theory. Luke is not some mastermind of subtlety.

I working on my own series called OVERCROSS, and Desti is in the series. BUT I have to ask permission first before I use the character. She's also DED btw...OOF. But we're not getting rid of her.

For a fanmade science experiment, its possible to make a "Clone" of Desti. Using the ink that she had. E-gadd can do that. But that's my suggestion about a spin-off.
I know I'm 1 year late to this, but this is exactly how i'd rewrite the whole arc. Tbh this should have been the ending, Desti had so much potential but she was used mostly for the Anime arc. Wren in Western Spaghetti at least used his time perfectly by basically being the best SMG4 villain so far

Everyone knows that because Luke himself said that in his so-called "AMA". The only thing we can do right now is to make our own series to show him what he could achieve if he didn't cut the loose ends that abruptly.

I imagine this alternate ending being a True Ending for a video game adaption of Meggy's Destiny. The game would be a movie-styled like Death Come True. You can play minigames like the Splatoon 3 game. Be warned, if you don't play the minigames, you won't get another chance...because then you will get the normal ending. Goodbye, True Ending. The normal ending is the movie's version,, but this is the true ending where the credits show Desti, Meggy and the rest of the crew partying.

You know what I like the most of all that? The smooth animation. Most of the animation SMG4 makes, other than Meta Runner, is kinda Janky... But that's because his videos are of... A lower quality. And that lower quality somehow makes it funnier. But this makes it so much more serious, and more emotional. I really like it.
I've always hated the idea of Desti returning because it would add unecessary continuity but you know what? This woulda been epic. I feel like a good one would be Desti going elsewhere, to hide the fact she's alive. Like another town to keep competing, and Meggy going with her. Would be an epic exit for both of them.
Actually, I had this point in mind as well. Like, after all that hellstorm that they both been through, they could have a vacation from SMG4 roster with Desti leaving permanently and Meggy returning whenever SMG4 wants her to. Could be an ideal ending.
@@wingfury Yeah. The way I see it, Meggy doesn't really serve a purpose anymore in the channel. Usually when you finish a character's entire story arc as a whole, its when they're leaving a show or the series ends. Not just smack dab in the middle lol.

But you, my friend, on the other hand got to this scene the more creative way, which is also great.
This is what I thought at first when watching meggy destiny for the first time. But of course it gotta end to where Deati is gone and forgotten. I feel like she gonna make a combat in the future because that was all just too sudden to happen. I bet that if Deati comes back. Meggy will be back in splatfest and have a proper team vs team. That would be ideal and possibly most respectable way after all of that
Thank god this ending did not happen becouse it would make meggy's depression entirely pointless
Too bad that SMG4 said Desti will never come back in the series after the movie, he could have make a exception by making a episode where a TF2 Medic will secretaly retrieve Desti's corpse in the coffin after her funeral and then ressurecting her. Don't you all agree?

I love this as an alternate ending but i think it wouldn't feel right after what happened. Sure if the actually did this people would be rejoicing the CRAP out of the video, but it just wouldn't feel right. (also how would she be able to get back to land at this point in the story she would be ways away from shore). Nontheless I loved this video!

Technically she's a octoling from Splatoon 2 and when they die they turn into a puddle of ink and we have seen many times through out this that is it cannon for the smg4 universe to have it too so she didnt turn to a puddle so what happen hmm?
