Best brewing channel. Awesome job 👍
Thanks for the love, cheers Mike!
One of the best homebrew channels in youtube. Can you make a tutorial how to change a recipe to meet your needs. I have a coffee beer recipe but need to add a kind of chocolate syrop. How do I determine how much to use and when??
BS3 has an extensive list of styles but coffee is not listed. It also has an extensive list of optional style guides. I just added the AABC 2010 guide. Now I'll see if 'coffee' shows up. Nope. You'd need to modify a specialty base style. I'm guessing you'd need to ask on homebrewing forums rather than depending on B3 to give advice. Stop press... I just discovered that you can search recipes for ingredients. There were 2 recipes with the word "chocolate". (It wasn't really chocolate syrup but rather "chocolate malt" in both cases, but it had useful examples of water and mash modifications. Thanks for the question that made me learn new BS3 tricks)
Awesome, thanks bro!! Your videos are always very helpful!!
you give the best entertainment on brewing. with content.
Thanks allen thanks for the kind words. Have a good weekend
Alright... Alright.... I was thinking about leaving this video but when you called me out I stayed with it. Wasn't disappointed. 🤙
CH, love the stuff. Honestly keep it up. I like seeing people being themselves and your videos are just that. You find yourself in Boston you let me know!
I've never been to boston, but if i do.. we are gonna braj out
Love the vids man! I'm a newbie home brewer, started out with some kits and fell in love with it. Me and the fiance are dabbling into the custom recipes now so this kind of content is really helpful. Sending positive vibes from Indiana 😎🤙
STAY hungry DILLON! make a good homebrew, and no other beer will compare
I'm loving the intros and the humor, it's good shit! It's always nice to see how others use Beersmith, I even learned a couple of things.
I still need to send you something
Bro, I love your channel. I was deployed last year and learned how to brew by watching and re-watching your tutorials over and over. When I got back I dedicated all my free time to visiting Vista breweries and setting up my home brew system. Now my home brew system is based on exactly what you showed me. Love your shit and keep it up. Maybe, just maybe, make another home brew vid that isn’t an IPA sometime. Lager, Hefe, amber ale?
Thanks for the love david. It is getting really hot so a lager video sounds like a great idea. Cheers braj!
Love H4L. This channel made me get back into brewing after taking a 3 year hiatus. Can you make a video explaining the different things that might make homebrew foamy. I've went through everything from beer line size/length, temp of beer/kegerator, proper tilt, not over carbonation, and serving pressure. The only way I've found to not get a glass that's 50-60% foam is to serve at like 4 psi
4 psi is generally flat beer. Here's exactly how we set ours up, and all the links to all the products are in the description of the video. ruclips.net/video/8crfmPaTPIk/видео.html
You’re the man! Keep the spirit alive! H4L maybe do an update on your homebrew setup. Show what you started with and what pieces you upgraded. Almost like a Sam Rami Army of Darkness quick clip “groovy”.
Kevin Calumpit thats a good idea!
Rad video.. good timing as well I have been looking at this and a few others trying to decide what to buy!
See you in an hour!
these aren't boring, they're great. Cue the big daddy scene where Julian and Sunny came back from the park - "kid did ten pull ups on the jungle gym." "Ten? I can't even do 1 with these scrawny arms." boyfriend: "they're not scrawny, they're nice!" lol
I messed it up a bit but you get the idea! ruclips.net/video/0G__jxKewiA/видео.html
Lol.
Luscious quarantine beard coming along nicely Sir.
I miss drinking with you at mage bar
@@HOMEBREW4LIFE lawnmower bears at the mage, looking forward to it.
Beersmith worths every nickel! Cheers!!
Absolutely!
I'm not at full grain brewing yet, but you have made me really feel like I can tackle it. I will 100% purchase brewsmith 3 because of this so thanks!
Cheers brotha! This software is affordable and makes life easier!
Pretty amusing. Probably helpful for BeerSmith newbies. Already knew BS3 and was kind of aggravated that you didn't use the pulldown menu for beer style because then your indicators would have all magically fallen into the midrange for WC IPA style. Also does water and water modifications like gypsum or mag sulfate. I'm using it on a Linux machine and its's available for smartphones as well.
If thats the biggest aggravation ur gonna experience today... then todays gonna be a good day!
Always a winner bro!!!
same time tomorrow?
merci pour tes videos !! from Montreal Quebec
Cheers from San Diego coem!
Love your channel! The best straight to the point information with great entertainment. If I could recommend a video, I’d like to see watch a video the talks about some of the more common off flavors you can get when you’re first learning how to brew and maybe where they come from and how to avoid them. My cream ales had a buttery finish that I thought were normal but someone finally told me I should have let them ferment longer. Thanks and keep up the work!
Yeah buddy that video is on the list!
Thanks great video download Beer Smith
Its awesome cheers!
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale definitely uses Cascade hops! That recipe is a good recipe to brew your first time and can be used as a template for other recipes of your own! That's what I do!
PS: Cascade hops are my favorite hops! So floral earthy and grapefruity! 😉
Same! 🍻
Great tutorial! You have come a long way since home brewing in the kitchen at Lake San Marcos.
Happy saturday big dog! ❤️
@@HOMEBREW4LIFE Enjoy the weekend
Well done....
Cheers!
Missed you braj, keep it up
Nice work CH!!
Cheers brotha!
Keep the vids coming. They're keeping me sane. Question - What's you favorite lawn mower beer/recipe?
Cheers brotha. Any pilsner around 4.5% abv. The lighter the better
You listened! Thank you! This was very helpful.
Thanks matt
Awesome video, I haven't used any beer software before because I was a little intimidated by it, but after your bad ass video I'm going to get it. Thanks for the nudge! Cheers
mario you got this. keep grinding and keep growing
good information on beersmith software - got a question about brew equipment - i'm just purchased a BrewEasy No Sparge system - are you familiar with it? and does the software account for increased grain requirement?
Love the Spurs you nailed MGBS! Kind of tech but I didn’t go to Sonoma State.. let’s virtual MBG!!’
Great video CH!
2 additional BS tips:
1. Pay attention to your equipment profile. I used to brew on a homemade low volume kit and needed to add it as a profile in BS to get accurate gravity targets and the correct amounts of ingredients.
2. If you use the color scales at the bottom of the screen (ABV, IBUs, Gravity, etc.), make sure you select the correct beer style for the recipe in the drop down menu. (Not done in the video). This will then show if each variable is in range for that particular style - you want the triangle thing to be in the green part of the scale. This is particularly useful when making up your own recipes.
Keep the videos coming lad!
Duly noted! Cheers!
I love the channel. I'm a new brewer and I'm probably a little drunk. Maybe.
Make recipe videos. Make videos to help people transition from malt to all grain. Make videos that help explain why you use different grains and certain amounts. I think this might help if not, I'll go fuck myself. Keep up the good work man, you're doing great.
thanks for the tips!
Cheers my dude!
Back in May, when we only did like two months of lock down.
Bell's Two Hearted uses Centennial by the way. You were right on Sierra Nevada with Cascade...Great video as always
Thx for the support eric have a great weekend 🍻 ❤️
Respect as always my dawg
You kill it with the vids... Please keep it up. Your content is rad. Please make a clarification homebrew jam. My beer is super foggy. "You can't make a hazy pilsner"
You got it kevin. Thanks for watching!
If you change batch size, will the program scale ingredients for you?
Top left corner has a button to scale ☺️💯
I dig it 👍
thanks for watching chris
I hear of guys making extra large yeast starters and section off half or into thirds in mason jars so they can keep brewing without needing to buy yeast and save some $$$. Is this something you do?
have you ever had Monkish Brewing?
Not yet but ill throw them on my radar!
Yeah got into your channel a few days ago and watched a bunch of it. you guys are weird but so am I. Good fit. Maybe one day i will learn to make beer but for now i'll just work a dead end job and listen to van halen's discography.
What's the best way to filter the beer?
Sounds like a great idea for a H4L video
Sounds like a great idea for a H4L video
I use the 'buon vino mini jet' filter awesome results!
Definitely would love to see a video of you brewing this beer, and a taste/ chug test once it's done. Maybe once life returns to normal. I think it'd make for some dope H4L footage! Cheers CH, keep on keepin' on, brutha.
Hell yea cheers Josh
At 9:20 is that theme song from Street Fighter? Another dope vid bro
Yeah buddy! #Guile
Guile!!!!! His theme song makes me wanna save kittens from a tree or something, its awesome
another awesome video, but then again you could just sit there and look at the camera and drink a beer and id still watch it a few times! really stoked on the MBC uni shirt that you sent me, my girlfriend thinks i wear it everyday... maybe half true... keep up the sick content brotha!!!
-RJ Hewitt from all the way up in Canada!
side note: i just finished kegging a pilsner and a Pale ale like 20 minutes ago, just waiting for everything to chill out before we start smashing MBC's!!
Glad it made it to Canada, and thanks for the continous support RJ!
Is this homebrew-occasionally? Get back in the garage and brew.
Fuq u
And while you're in the kitchen make me a sandwich!
For the love of beer, CH!! Change the beer style!!!!
Where do you get your background music?
Love the channel duder!!
Mega man games from nes and snes. Cheers!
Is there a play list anywhere?
@@est19791 ha not really. I do listen to megaman 2 channel on pandora. Drives my friends and girl crazy haha
HOMEBREW 4 LIFE see. That’s what I’m talking about. Music is in the ear of the beer-holder. No one else.
HEY!!! Some of our best sellers are sour milkshake IPAs (we crush sours all DAY) ... and there's not to many breweries in the area that can do em right, so ... you know... gotta have a niche.
Wait a lactose sour ipa? Im seriously listening
Absolutely! A pure kettle sour leans slightly sweet (lactic is a 'sweet' acid) plus you build more sweetness with the lactose to balance the acidity - and you hop like a juicy IPA to get clean fruitiness from the hops and non-aggro AA bitterness (unlike a west coast) - plus you can flavor it with fruit! You gotta try brewing some before you knock it - you can even cheat and use pure lactic acid instead of kettle sour.
Send me a recipe, and ill dedicate the whole video to you
On it.

I talked about it in the live stream today - you're committed now. ( I also told people to check out your channel and someone called out a MBC - but I only had like 4oz left in mine.)
If you don't have a good way to purge your fermenter so it's anaerobic you can use acid malt to artificially sour as well. We use Best Malz - it tastes super duper.
How long does a 50 lb bag of 2 row last?
Years if you have a proper container
Word. I am fixing up my shop to be one part office , one part work shop, one part chill spot, and one part nano brewery. All braj cave. With 30 gallon containers of 2 and 6 row and 5 gallon buckets of specialty grains, I might be able to pull it off. Call it a braj cave, call it a brajuary, call it a Charles Brajson dojo. Call it what you will. Cheers!
Don’t be too hard on yourself man. I will literally watch any video you upload. Btw when are you going live on Twitch again?
Thanks for watching my dude. Still figuring twitch out!
Great video!
Have you considered brewing a recipe from Ben Franklin or George Washington? it would be fun to taste what they where making back in the day. Its an idea. i have always wanted to do this. Please keep up the great videos! Cheers!!
Haha i like it!
I think Im just going to make a good spreadsheet in Excel, but good video nonetheless.
You should do a video on mixed culture sours.
duly noted RSK
Yo casual drop on that hard kombucha joint? You gotta do a video in there / with the brewers. Was worried in the "cribs" video when i saw the lotion and TP by the bed ya'll had split, semi-worried about a person I have never met fam. Great video, sold me on beersmith. JK im broke I screen shot your recipes and just make them over and over.
Time be tough logan! Thanks for the kind words 🍻 ❤️
What's the advantage of this over Brewtarget? I've been using brewtarget for a while and am pretty lazy so switching sounds like work.
Same stuff, dont trip. Good seeing you last night braj!
You taking Genus Brewing challenge?
BIG TIME 😡
Yo 2row is flipping grossly overpriced on Amazon.
What are your thoughts on adding some 6 row? I've been using some as my HBS swears the higher amount of enzymes improve efficiency.
honestly 6 row is an amazing base malt. Almost the exact same as 2 row in terms of getting sugar / alcohol
Show the equipment set up too, sothe "program-app-software or whatever the kids call it these days" can tell how much water to add. Also mineral additions is a good feature. Scale recipe.
A channel idea. You should have us (your subscribers) submit pics of our
home brew systems or kegerator setups whatever. Then give brutal honest opinions &
reviews of our setups.
Have you checked Brewfather? That's a THING nowadays :P
I have not, but i will!
You got one of the coolest homebrew channels. Any way you can do a video on making lagers? Thanks.
That video is on the horizon. Thanks for watching cheers hector!
2 row is so expensive online because it costs as much to ship it as is to buy.
Rhino yup
More content please lol
order up! Thanks for watching Sebastian!
Is it like RockSmith, meaning I suck at it?
Awesome video. I used BeerSmith for quite a while but have recently swapped over to Brewfather and it’s much more user friendly. Super quick and easy to jump between devices and just all over really easy to use. Check it out
most definitely!
Clearly iPad version doesn’t have near the functionality.
Brew that shit!!!!!!!
