First of all huge thanks to Parallel 42 for giving me the opportunity to try out this magnificent aeroplane. They have an uncanny knack of pulling off the incredible with their products, the little details that delight, and they've done it again!
On this flight we walk through the main features of the FreedomFox as it appears in sim and go for a flight into the bush to see what it can do.
Parallel 42, famous for their immersion products, the incomparable Chaseplane and the incredibly imaginative and inventive Skypark have without a doubt pulled off another masterpiece here.
Along with GotGravel, who created the flight model, and Trent Palmer himself, who tested the model in the sim, they have created something spectacular and perfect for exploring this beautiful MSFS2020 world.

A wonderful video for a very fun looking aircraft! 70 kts is a bit below my ideal flight speed. Perfect for real life but a bit slow for me in the sim. Thanks for making such a lovely video about the Fox!

Really enjoyable video and such a great intro to the Parallel 42 Freedomfox/kitfox. Such a cool aircraft and great its arrived in MSFS2020 in such fun, style, form and accuracy. I'm definitely going shopping for a new aircraft for the Hangar ;)

how do you trim the aircraft in real life in this plane? is it on the stick or?
I seem to remember in this particular one it is controlled by the hat switch on top of the stick.
29:40 try the map replacement mod with the apple maps server, it’s even better!!
What ? A bush plane with an autopilot ? You can't do that !!! (looks around to make sure nobody is watching, starts giggling and rubbing hands together and muttering 'come to papa' ...)
Lol I know exactly what mean. Does make this perfect for short bush hops but also longer trips with a bit of hands off stick time too if you wanted to. Trent knows his stuff lol

hello again, I've just bought this from the MS Store and cannot for the life of me figure out how to open the Mod Manager... any ideas?

You should have a FreedomFox Mod Manager on your desktop. The icon is one of the bush tyres.
@@Dreamsofwings I had a break, recently bought a Reverb G2 VR headset and a new GPU and am blown away by how much fun I'm having in the Fox and the Hellcat.. I don't think I can go back to 2d again, help! Thanks for your advice, I don't have that icon, must be an MS Store issue. I'll check with P42, thank you. Hope you are well..
This aircraft makes me wonder if there should virtual STOL contests? Could be interesting as well as entertaining.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if Parallel 42 don't bring something into the Skypark to cover that.
The Bush League Legends group has had some as well as the Bushrats group. Wouldn't surprise me if the Bushdivers group have done some as well. An actual version of the High Sierra Stol drags or Arkanstol brought in by Asobo like the Reno air races would be pretty awesome.
How did you turn on the avonics cause I cant seem to turn them on.
You should be able to turn them on using the avionics switch on the lower left of the panel. If this isn’t working might be worth you checking in on their Discord as could be a tech issue.
Left your fuel pump on make sure to turn it off once stable after start

Is that a notebook by your left foot ? That looked like a clickspot when you were starting up ?
Yes at the moment it comes up with a notebook on the passenger seat that has a list of credits. I imagine very soon it will provide other cool things!
Quick one, does the he aircraft have persistent states and maintenance? Like does it stay the same way as when you leave it? Thanks.

Excellent review of this wonderful aircraft. I will buy it on Friday 😄 I discovered Trent Palmers RUclips channel a couple of weeks ago and I have watched it every day since then. So entertaining and a lovley guy to follow. Looks like I discovered the Freedom Fox little to late when he has it for sale. I will still enjoy it in the sim.
I have been flying got friends gravvel and carbon cub lately in Idaho country where Trent fly alot.
What I have been missing is avionics. The Freedom fox looks like it checks all of my boxes with great avionics and wonderful visibility due to the glass doors. It looks like it performs like the other STOL planes I have been using lately 🙏
I can’t wait for bush flying in MSFS 2024💪
@@MagnusThornberg hey many thanks, and the great thing is since this video released they have continued to update it so you can fly the Fox2 with a TDS GTNxi 750 if you want and there is also a steam gauge version for people like me that prefer old school instruments rather than glass cockpit.
@@Dreamsofwings that’s really cool 🙏 I love that they give us all the choice✌️if you haven’t been flying in Idaho you really need to. Start at Lower Loon Creek and fly through the canyons to nearby airstrips. Very fun approaches and challenging. I tried it with a 172 Skyhawk and was not possible 😂 the stall warning was beeping the whole time and the aircraft felt so underpowered.

@@Dreamsofwings if you are interested in scenery add on for Idaho bush exploring the Orbx’s ‘Not So Deadly 3 and Deadly 3 looks nice. The airstrips are many of them Trent Palmer and his flying friends visit a lot.

How do I get that mod manager?
It comes with the aircraft so you should see it as an icon on your desktop or look for it in the installation folder.

Does Fox 2 not have synthetic vision?
Not flown Fox 2 yet but it has same avionics as FreedomFox as far as I am aware.
@@Dreamsofwings Thanks, the reason I was asking is because mine does not have synthetic vision for some reason. I went to the parallel 42 Discord channel and asked around, and everybody says it should. Mine for some reason doesn’t. Although the freedom fox does. Weird.
That is strange..if you haven’t already try verifying files in Orbx Central. Failing that maybe raise a ticket on their website. I’m not sure why it would be working in one and not the other

Hey many thanks!, this is the Reno Stead Airport that comes with the Reno Races pack.
Looks great. Ironic, as they also released SkyPark, which is one of the most overrated apps in the SIM.
I think it depends on what you are into. I think for some the Skypark is probably quite useful and gives them a real purpose to fly plus future developments. It wouldn't surprise me if we see some FreedomFox events coming into it.
@@Dreamsofwings It not a 'bad' add-on, intrinsically. It's just had next to no updates (at least meaningful ones) and isn't cheap for what it is. It just looks pretty. NeoFly absolutely destroys it in almost every way.
@@Stwutter1973 I like Skypark and NF .. slightly different user experiences .. but when NF release their new UI early in 2022 //42’s Skypark needs to be very nervous! 😉
@@S0L0D0G I agree that the UI is where NF lags a bit - but that's it IMO - it just offers so much more depth. You can also use it free, and it still gives you more than SkyPark - and the add-ons/updates are frequent. The dev. is a great guy too.

yes this is for MSFS2020 but if you are using the Xbox version it isn't ready just yet but WILL be coming to Xbox
