I just purchased a 9.4.4 setup, all jtr except the subs. The subs will come over time but when it comes to the clarity, the volume and the bang for buck is well worth it-it’s no exaggeration. These will more than likely be the last speakers I buy for the foreseeable future

The unbelievable thing is not only do I have the waf, she’s the one who convinced me to get the flat pack and we built them together. I peraonally love the look of the JTR speakers. One thing I would encourage you to do is to set them up as an LCR (all 3 vertical). Don't worry about it blocking your image. You are reviewing the speakers, not the image of your projector. When I went to a true LCR with Klipsch LaScalas, I was absolutely blown away at what I heard. Then moving to JTR Noesis 212HTR, it took it to an entirely new level.
I’ve only heard JBL once and that was this year at CEDIA. Really hard to make direct comparison as the rooms and environments are completely different. I’m not sure I can give you an honest answer because I truly dont know. I’d really need an A/B comparison at the same show.
I have Arendals and was looking at the 212's, I have JTR subs and would never ever let them go - game changers so imagine their speakers are just as good
Yeah i have the arendals 1723thx and those have 4 8inch at 4ohms i hit them hard witj with 400watts per channel and i love them they work effortless love them but jtr is on another level all together and its nice yo have these options.great video thks
If money were no object, I'd upgrade to these all around. Love this line of speakers, I also think they look super cool. I dig the industrial vibe of them, and they even look kinda refined with their grills on. Can't wait to see a full review!

As someone who has a combined 2ch and HT I really want to know how these perform in 2ch system. My current 2ch uses Dynaudio Contours while the HT side uses some large horns. It would be nice to have just one set of speakers that can soundstage and project a 3D image like the Dynaudio in 2ch but still have the dynamics of the larger horns for HT. I do listen to some Atmos music when the mood strikes but 90% of my listening is still 2ch. Just my preference
Have you checked them out for longer? I coult not believe that they are soooo detailed... More then any other speakers. I have the klipsch 8000f and can not believe that i will hear something i've never heard before

I'm a Arendal guy myself too we have to accept it JTR is just on another level right now. Maybe the new 3 -way Arendal Speaker's might be more on par with the JTR
Good job sir! We appreciate your impressions. I think that despite looking like a Cyber Truck they sound remarkably smooth/detailed. For that reason the loudspeakers were more impressive than the subwoofers (and who doesn’t love JTR subs). One thing to keep in mind, loyal subscribers (you ARE subscribed right?), is that in general a buyer who is considering JTR is not considering Arendal, and vice versa. People either love or hate the look of JTR speakers! My towers are in my living room for now and they look very menacing! Now I had Jeff do a custom finish on my 110 surrounds and they look great
Just curious… Because of the difference in sensitivity did you at least level match them before your first listen so they’re not pronounced more than other speakers?
Not yet but I will. I wanted to see how much louder they are and if there are any tonal differences before I do any type of level matching just as a baseline and then see how they sound after level matching. I’m still testing demos before I level match.
I think if JTR ever does come out with an in wall LCR and surrounds that delivered the same output, it would be a game changer for many. Fingers crossed lol

Curious what volume do people typically watch movies at? I watch at -15 on the processor which typically yields 105-108 db. I’ve seen peaks once or twice at 118

I think jtr speakers are the ultimate ht speaker. Dont think ill ever spend that much for 15 speakers but, parts, performane, price, those are the goats imho. Just too expensive for me. Someday i hope to build speakers like those. Im always on lookout for coaxial pro drivers and such.
Exactly. That industrial look i just cant do. I think they are ugly. I would probably have them outside in my patio. I dont know why jtr cant dress them up a little better. Maybe better lines, piano black, better looking drivers, modern grill. Its an eye sore in my opinion I will keep my klipsch rf7iii. Two 10inch woofers with the tractrix horn. Far better looking than this jtr warehouse speakers.
I dont get why speaker companies that sell ht specific speakers havent steered more towards high sensitivity pro audio drivers. They wont look as pretty but why are we trading so much performance for what just seems like astetics? Music speakers should be pretty in a bright room. HT speakers should be utility only hidden in a dark room imho. Someone should do a comparison between a fancy looking expensive ht setup vs a cheap pro audio ht setup. That would be interesting.
Maybe it’s the JBL synthesis fan in me but I’ve never heard compression drivers done right anywhere else. Also why do I need 128db 60hz and up. No one needs that much dynamic range
Based on some of your comments it doesn't sound like you level matched the speakers before you began listening. The JTR's sensitivity is 6dB higher so it will play that much louder with the same voltage. Of course you'll hear more detail from any speaker played at a higher level. The JTR speakers have narrower dispersion, are voiced a bit brighter, and can play louder with lower distortion. All of these things contribute to our perception of clarity, but it seems your testing wasn't apples to apples.

It would not change the behavior or tonality of the speaker - I'm not talking about room EQ. Please keep this in mind for future impression and review videos. This is the same trap that people fall into when comparing amplifiers with different gain and becoming convinced that the new amp sounds so much better when they didn't perform a proper comparison. If you still disagree with me consult with someone experienced that you trust.

I also stated I already knew the JTR’s would play louder. I purposefully didnt level match so I could hear both the JTR’s and Arendal raw before level matching. Not a big deal. @@hatoraidcowboy Your impression was tainted by the speaker being louder. It IS a big deal. Properly level matching speakers doesn't mean they aren't "raw". Not level matching is a mistake that you shouldn't repeat because in this case it resulted in a large boost in perceived clarity of one speaker over the other. Next month you may do the same test on a lower sensitivity speaker and report that it's less clear when that may not be the case.
I really like JTR. I also own an Arendal system, and I wish JTRs looked as good as the Arendals. I have a family room home theater setup...so looks are like 60-70% of my purchase decision. It not only has to sound good but be an art piece as well. I definitely want to test out some JTR'S though... amazing speakers.
@@hatoraidcowboy I have a 5.2.4 System. L/R are Arendal 1723 THX Towers, Centre is the matching THX, Rears are 1723 THX S Towers , and the four Heights are THX S. All, of them are in gloss white , which I absolutely love the look of. For subs I have dual SVS SB16 ultras.

I like the fact that my JTR's cost isn't taken up by aesthetics that will not be seen when the show starts. I put my speakers behind an ATS screen, so no one can see them at all.
Great video. JTR is end game for most. They are well built and put out great output and just sound great. I personally don’t understand why some don’t like the industrialized look. Most of the time in a theater setting it’s dark and you don’t see the speaker. Perhaps if you’re listening to music in a well lit room it makes a difference? Last point and I think some will think this is silly, or petty but here goes. I am seeing more and more content providers creating videos with off axis camera angles. I personally don’t care for scenes where the person who is speaking is looking into the distance at a different camera or point. I suppose I am old school and just like to see someone looking at me when they are talking. All kidding asides awesome review

For me it isn’t a money issue but rather a space issue. I don’t find these to be that expensive when you consider what you get for your money

I’m still using them and getting an acoustically transparent screen soon so I can use all 3 as an LCR

24” for the center channel and 28” for the L & R
Can you mount these to a wall or does it require a stand for optimal positioning?
These dont have any mounting brackets and at 85lbs not sure I would even want that weight on my wall lol These are more for stands or behind a screen.

I didnt level match. I stated in the video this was straight out of the box listening. I will level match when I actually review the speaker.
