It is harassment, bordering on assault (not sure where the line is exactly). If their genders had been reversed the cousin would have been tarred and feathered. And that’s what should have happened here. It doesn’t matter if she was drunk and/or high, it doesn’t excuse it and it does not mean that an apology and an admission of guilt and wrongdoing isn’t necessary.
Well the guy is possible underage no idea where they are at, but if the daughter is 17 at best the guy might be 18 but is likely 16-17 years old too. Really shouldn't have family being okay with getting drunk and assaulting minors.
Simple trick to see if it would be OK. Just swap the genders. If a few years older cousin forst himself on the girlfriend of another cousin. Is that OK, because "it was just a kiss"? The answer is absolutely NO!!!! Sexual Harassment can go both ways.
It’s more of a role switch than a gender switch. Would the cousin be okay if op daughter kissed her boyfriend if the positions was swapped. Would op sister be okay or would she be mad like op is?
Absolutely NTA. The cousin, regardless of her being intoxicated, high, or not, should apologize for displaying such inappropriate behavior in front of everyone, including your daughter's boyfriend. Also, the family needs to scold the cousin instead of giving her a pass because she'll try it again.
Not only cousin harassed bf, which, in itself, is very wrong, she came on a family member's partner. But she was high, drunk and fa-fa-family, so everyone should forgive and forget. I can bet that if roles were reversed, like if OP's daughter flirted with cousin's bf or someone kissed cousin without her consent, everyone would've grabbed their pitchforks
If in the US the cousin should be at least 21. If she is younger then the venue or vendor might/should get their liquor license revoked. I think most try to avoid that by just not serving minors.
NTA. Your family is acting immature and like spoiled brats. The boyfriend might wanna press charges for assault if the family isn't going to do anything.
That's a kiss without consent, that's definitely harassement, it wouldve gone further had the father not stepped up. Hold the cousin accountable
Nta if the roles were reversed they’d lose their minds . Tell your neice off yourself . She’s old enough to handle the consequences of her actions
I was a about to say that . Reverse the roles the dude might end up in jail or few broken bones
That's not just harassment, it's assault
More correct sexualassault
That's what I was thinking, too.
Why would op even ask if she's in the wrong 100% did the right thing for her daughter
Little sth call, being gaslight by toxic ppl
I wonder what sister would be saying if a drunk boyfriend kissed her daughter?
Exactly.

SA is SA. I'd not even call that harassment, that went a couple steps further.

Tell your sister that if she doesn’t hold her daughter accountable, you will by calling the police
First
Nta because she was wrong
I love how mature your daughter and her bf is
Absolutely NTA. The cousin, regardless of her being intoxicated, high, or not, should apologize for displaying such inappropriate behavior in front of everyone, including your daughter's boyfriend. Also, the family needs to scold the cousin instead of giving her a pass because she'll try it again.

NTA
If this was her daughter being kissed against her will cause a guy was drunk, nobody would defending the perpetrator.
That’s literally sexual assault
So if someone was in the same position as her daughter and did that to her husband she clearly thinks it’s not a big deal.
Nta, if the bf wasn’t consenting, that was sa.
If the cousin was a man and the boyfriend was a girlfriend, security would have been involved
I'd ask if the roles were reversed, would the boyfriend be welcomed at the next family event lol
How is no one commenting about how the op said she took pictures of her daughter and her daughters boyfriend sleeping like that’s so creepy 🤯
That IS harassment
Haaaah double standards don't we love it? 😊 /s
Nta
I’m curious as to how old the cousin is. Her mom (OP’s sister) is 35, and OP’s daughter and boyfriend are 17, so is the cousin younger or older?
OP said the cousin is a bit older than her daughter. But I don’t think an age was given in the video.
@@huntress1123 so it’s safe to assume that OP’s sister had her daughter as a teenager then?
@@scottibrown3274 idk. Probably, OP most likely didn’t add it due to it being unnecessary context.

So it was just a kiss so she lets other women kiss her new husband all the time?
