I hope they go the cliche route and end it with Daniela pointing a gun at both Jason’s saying “which one is the real Jason!”, then our Jason says Jupiter and she kills the evil one.
Amanda and Randy together means they could create something to make everybody happy but then..everybody has a twin Blair’,Charlie,Daniela so if it’s get hectic somebody will be jumping into the box this is the first show that could have a 100 seasons easy

They’d really have to be in trouble to trust eachother and work together! Definitely could happen tho depending on how crazy the other Jason’s are!
True plus Randy the scientists just met Amanda who knows everything but what didn’t make sense was,how there was no killer Jason’s at the box ready to make their own decisions black ring Jason’s
ok 1. U guys rocks, 2. this thing just went off the rails and i love it, 3. i feel the need to point out that evil jason left Ryan in the world that he did, not because it was some amazing world for him and not because he's being magnanimous (Google Word trending currently, see i follow your other posts) but because if you recall: the Jason in that world was an insurance salesman that means there's no box that will be created. So the way I see it the only way out of the situation is they can't stay in the current world that they're in. the OG family must all 3 leave. And OG Jas cannot pick where they go as he would be followed. so I think a quick swing by the storage unit to grab some travel doses ( sealing OG world) and off they must go and I think it's key or vital that either Charlie or Daniela pick where they go to next. But again I haven't read the books so I don't know how else to wrap. Either it's been a wonderful journey with all your guys!!! That is a glorious Bingetown callout bringing up magnanimous hahah you are a true friend of the pod. Due to real world constraints, we had to watch the finale pretty soon after recording this episode so I have to keep my mouth shut on your prediction. I see that hallway scene with another Jason mirroring the doors in superposition inside the box.
I think that was a missed opportunity. They should have played on mirrors in that scene. For relief. Lead the viewer down a false narrative.
The ultimate happy ending for this show is somehow preventing the creation of the box with the box.
We’ve definitely flirted with the idea of time travel. Would be wild to add that dynamic to the final ep but anything can happen!

I called it… Now Jason 2 has infinite hostile Jason 1 Bis trying to terminate him…
Meanwhile they’re all in competition to be with their wives.
Now how many world has Jason 2 effed with? Since the box replication factor is infinite…
How many dangerous Jason are out there?
I think our Jason had it easy so he may be the least mentally altered by the box…
He was the only one to reach out to her, since he has had psychological experiences with the shrank…
Still has that empathetic nature to the core of his soul. And chose to team up with his wife instead of forcing her to (like Jason 2 did) he waited let her make her choice.
Where all the others tried to save her with no real plan…
The only solution is to seal the box and deal with the problematic jasons…
Just a reminder the box does what reality does, but where in reality we remain separate from our alter egos, the box makes it chaotic!
Jason 2 been playing God…and it’s biting him back!
Or reveal the creation of the box to the world…

@@Incite-westworld The issue with sealing the box is 1. how many "problematic Jasons" are there and can you ever reallllllly be sure you got them all? And do these problematic Jasons not have just as much of right to this Daniela as the rest? It's an incredibly fun philosophical question

The OG Jay is the one who gave up a life with Amanda in an ideal world ... leaving her with two ampules ... and getting back to his world without a hatred for evil Jay.
All the other Jasons went through traumatic experiences and grew to truly hate evil Jay to the point of ... getting a gun or knife to kill him.
We assumed OG Jay ... went to the gun store ... when both could have been the screwed up Jays.
Remember OG Jay ... had the benefit of Amanda being with him ... until the last two ampules. And because he still had feelings for Amanda ... he went to a world where his wife & son were dead ....refosed and went to a world where Max is alive & he considered killing Jason ... and finally he got home.
And the happy ending ... can only be in another world ... since theirs now has multiple crazy Jays trapped because Ryan is not their to make more the drug ... and only evil Jay & Daniela know of the full ampules
OG jay should be able to get back to Amanda's world, make more of the drug ... and find a new world for his family.
To Jim 🤣😂😂Remember you can’t hide Amanda Tired,Randy Backs,Blair smart she working her way back once you sit to long they pop up but the only reason they found them was the car which Blair was involved lol
I feel like the show will end with Daniela removing herself from the situation and OG Jason will end up losing her and Charlie to a certain extent. Do we think this will become a world news event too? Maybe OG Jason will travel to find Ryan and Amanda as well.
I think that OG Jason will go back to Amanda in the next episode.
Amanda is very important to Scar Jason, the one that lost her. (Even if he can’t admit it to himself)

In order to grant a happy ending to Daniela, my theory is that she keeps all the Jasons. They become Work-Jason, Sex-Jason, Take-Out-The-Garbage-Jason, Cook-Jason, Supermarket-Jason, Romantic-Jason, and so on…
Jokes aside, congrats on the podcast which is amazing! It added an extra layer of fun to this awesome show, probably the best I’ve seen since Asimov’s Foundation!

Things I’m left wondering going into next weeks finale:
1.) Do we see a tie back to Episode 1’s Claire, Edward & Ivan?
2.) 4 went into the box (Blair and Jason 2), who were the other two? Could one be Detective Mason?
3.) What happened to Leighton? (Bloodied and injured walking through the box)
4.) Amanda had two ampoules left in her world, does she return?
5.) Is there a Happily Ever After ending where they reunite with Max?
6.) Is there a 2nd Daniela and is the reveal evident in her self-portrait?
Great summary! I am particularly interested in #3 and #4 and OG Ryan- these are 3 seeds planted that I expect to come back to bite us in episode 9

I think evil J couldn't attack her cause his whole plan depends on her willing being with him and forcing her defeats purpose of his trip... only recourse is to go to another world.
The REAL OG Jason is who you call evil Jason. He created the box and started it all. He started the splits and is who this story is all about. Regret and wishing you could go back and change your decisions.
Very interesting take!!! We’re hoping both Jason’s have a definitive ending !
The whole law enforcement angle is likely to come up in the season finale. You can't leave a body in a university library restroom without someone noticing -- well at least eventually noticing. And how much fratricide has been taking place between the various Good Guy Jasons? There could be Room Temperature Jasons littering the streets. What a puzzler for the Chicago P.D....
Yeah it seems that as of now this timeline is WAY too messy with all of the Jason’s and the carnage. Not sure how they’ll clean it up!
I recommend reading the short story 'And He Built A Crooked House,' by Robert Heinlein. And from that, predict that OGJ will have to figure out a way to collapse the Corridor and end the superposition problem of too many Jasons existing.

Excellent review, that covered all the bases, as we approach the finale.
Regarding how the series ends, there are two possibilities and I think you covered both. First possible: somehow Jason1, who is now united with Daniela and Charlie, LEAVE this universe-using the drugs from the storage locker/leaving NONE for the other Jasons to use and follow them. Or, Jason1 allowing one of the Jason1 clones to be with Daniela & Charlie-and go to another universe; while Jason1 returns to Amanda in Empathy World.
There doesn’t seem to be any other “happy” solutions.
What will NOT likely to happen is for all of the loose ends to be tied-up. The solving of all the dead Jasons in Jason1’s world. The return of Ryan to Jason1’s world. And, most of all: a way for ALL the Jason1’s to be happy.
Finally, I think that “Dark Matter” can only be a one-season show, because to continue will require the viewers to buy into too much fantasy and illogical thinking. All of which puts the pressure on next week’s finale. I can’t wait!
I am crossing my fingers for a one and done limited series but yes, I agree with the two possible happy endings. Only one week left until we all find out
Yeah. These seem to be the only options. Either any Daniela and Charlie have to leave either with a Jason or without. Daniela and Charlie choose the new world and move to a new state making it harder for other jasons to find them. Maybe boarding up the box after they arrive to ensure no Jason’s follow.
Ugh! I think I lost track of OG Jay between the 4th and 5th eps. Idk y I cackled when ugly sweater Jay reappeared. I am not about to try to keep up now. Lol.

Also the Jason that d and c jump into the car with also had a rubber band ring like our og Jason but isn’t og. You see it when they crash.
Yep, at this point, we can no longer use the rubber band as an indicator of the Jason we have been following

i think too many dead Jasons are going to show up on that timeline and make things impossible for them to stay on that timeline. I think they will take the ampules and go to a different reality

Theoretically, how many EJs could exist? Every time he's been in and out of that box to a different universe, making different decisions, choosing places for OG Ryan, picking a replacement Ryan, even choosing which OG Jason's life to steal... Could this Evil J not be the only Evil J?
Maybe those split-offs ended up choosing other OG's to steal in other universes, and they started effing everything up other there the same way. Time to pack up, leave, and start over! 🤦🏾♀️

There is a problem with the theory that all the other Jasons (besides evil Jason) are sll versions of Jason 1. Remember when they first went into the box and they open the door were Amanda saw herself get killed before reaching the box? I think that implies that there has to be more than one evil jason that built a box and then went and kidnapped another jason right? Because jason 1 could not have split into another jason until him and Amanda first into the box together. Idk if that makes sense.
That makes sense! Hopefully we get our answers in the finale!!! Seems like there should technically be more Evil Js that exist.
Jason 2 wouldn't have gotten thrown down the stairs if he had killed Jason 1 instead of dumping him in the box.

Just finished watching Episode 8 second time. Everyone is wondering how many Jasons came through the box into their world. Well based on each decision made by the traveler inside the box, this is a good indicator ...... If you noticed 2 different times we saw Jason's wearing a BLACK WEDDING RING FINGER! This indicates that Jason't at a minimum would of started spawning in the earlier episodes when he chose to use the rubber band as his wedding ring. Every decision after he chose his ring would of been new pathways of another Jason. I believe Episode 9 will show INFINITE JASONS as the show ends with credits.

That would be right in line with all the promo pictures of the show showing an infinite number of Jasons. We'll know in 6 days!
I think Daniela and Max are going to leave with Jason however when they leave there is something that is going to happen that will make us question is that Jason is the OG Jason.
Would be very cool if it ends with us wondering if the right Jason actually got back to Daniela and Charlie

Why haven’t anyone mentioned that the Jayson in the gray car crash have a scar on his nose also. He may be the Number one Jayson am I wrong? Freeze the crash and look at the Jayson in the gray car, he has the same scar on his nose like the first Jayson, maybe he’s the right one.
Technically they’re all that version of Jason bc the cut on the nose should be from the original kidnapping. But you’re right some have it and some don’t seem to! Very interesting

I think they’re rj and d will talk and realize there are more vials and he’s going to take all 3 of them back to empathetic chicago where real Ryan is? and he’s the only Jason that would know of that place right.
Would love for them to reunite with Ryan but the question is, is there a Jason, Daniela, Charlie in OG Ryan’s new world?
To avoid all this chaos, it sounds to me that Jason 2 needed to go directly to Jason 1's life, kill him, and just destroy the box that way, he could reduce the number of duplicates and block their way to his universe in the process. I understand that's easier said than done.
What I relied on this episode (E8), was referring to the (Jason) ring finger. If there's a string there, thats OG Jason. If you notice, all the other Jasons had either a wedding ring or no ring.

OJ found his way back with Amanda who kept him focused and a good guy.
Or Daniela and Max leave and they find the OG in another reality

I think “Scar Jason” or “Scar J” was injured in an attempted lobotomy
Jupiter Jason, wife and kid (wife has the ampules) will go back to Ideal Chicago. Amanda is there (that world the Amanda of there disappeared from...but not really questioned/glossed over). What if that world's Jason and Amanda had built a box and left? Therefor Jupiter Jason, wife & kid, Amanda and Ryan 1 are now in this ideal world. Then destroy the Box! Or.... a season 2 to tie up everything 'differently'.
How do you know it’s OG Jason. All versions of Jason would have knowledge of the December vacation. The only on that had no knowledge of if was evil Jason.
That's a good call but I think the conversation at the bar with ScarJay confirmed to OG Jason that the Jason currently with Daniela is not an offshoot of Jason1. There is definitely some risk that he is wrong but that's most likely what he was thinking when trying that phone call trap.

There's something I don't quite get, though. If Jason 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.... were created after OG Jason gets into the box, why do all the versions of him have different scars?
Think like everytime he opened the box he then created another version of himself some died In that world and some went back in and started opening infinitely more doors changing there situation. Thats at least how I interpreted it
The different versions of J had different experiences. that’s why you have multiple Jason’s in the first place.

@@Bingetowntv fwiw every Jason has a legitimate claim to Daniella except for any Jason spawned from kidnapper. Jason, all of the Jason's spawned from teacher, Jason or Jason number one share his exact memories up until he was kidnapped. Everything that's happened to them after they were kidnapped does not involve Daniella at all and impacts her in no way. No negative, but I don't know if she could ever trust Jason again because she sees what kind of man he could be if the circumstances are right
I have a sneaking suspicion the ending will leave it up for interpretation which J actually makes it

Nope. OJ made his way back home ... with Amanda .... remaining a good guy .... and caring for both his wife & amanda.
All the other Jasons have had traumatic experiences, are obsessed with getting their wife & child back and with a deep hatred of EJ.
And we have all assumed ... OJ ... went to the gun store ... when he simply got a room at the hotel.
Just thought of a potential plot hole, not sure if its mentioned in below comments... Where are all the evil Jason's who split while he was travelling before he made his way to Prime Chicago?!? Did you guys bring up all the different currencies Daniela found, and what that could mean? Also theoretically there are almost infinite worlds that are all but identical to prime Chicago in which a Jason is missing that theses Branch Jason's from OG Jason can theoretically go to, replace, and the Daniela/Charlie history is the same as Prime if but for one/some subtle differences. Unfortunately even if all the "Jason's" agree to find these worlds, they'll keep branching off. Gonna re-watch w/subtitles now.. Technically All these Jason's that branched off of OG Jason are Daniela's "Jason's" as much as OG Jason is. They all including OG Jason have changed since being in the box. They're Def more so than Evil Jason. Dammit, Jim just brought this up! lol. I think a season ending "Post credit" scene will be OG Ryan running into Amanda in ProgChicago or some Leighton related scene. Definitely something to consider. I wonder how the bar tender is going to rationalize seeing 2 Jasons this episode
they had a 3 vehicle collision. I think people noticed. Also, when they find the dead body in the bathroom and the cops look at the surveillance of the entrance, they will notice 2 Jasons.

We made a few jokes early on in the series about this exact theory and it is for sure on the table.
There are a couple of Apple trailers that start with “This season on Dark Matter” which has implied to me from the jump that there will be additional seasons. I haven’t read the book but I would love a season two!! Sorry Luke!

I'm getting mixed signals from the internet because it was confirmed that the writing room was opened for Season 2 of Dark Matter but fans correctly point out that this does NOT mean that a second season is confirmed or even greenlit to be produced. Just something to keep in mind when watching the finale.

I checked the book before this episode ...since the weekly episodes r pretty annoying for me ....but yeah the show is better than the book and the book ending is kind of simple and Daniella and the kid are barely part of the book and there isn't much of an arc for them
Hearing these type of things blows my mind since they are so integral to the show. Maybe I'll stay away from the book since I'm so satisfied with the show as is

U guys rocks, 2. this thing just went off the rails and i love it, 3. i feel the need to point out that evil jason left Ryan in the world that he did, not because it was some amazing world for him and not because he's being magnanimous (Google Word trending currently, see i follow your other posts) but because if you recall: the Jason in that world was an insurance salesman that means there's no box that will be created. So the way I see it the only way out of the situation is they can't stay in the current world that they're in. the OG family must all 3 leave. And OG Jas cannot pick where they go as he would be followed. so I think a quick swing by the storage unit to grab some travel doses and off they must go and I think it's key or vital that either Charlie or Daniela pick where they go to next. But again I haven't read the books so I don't know how else to wrap. Either way; it's been a wonderful journey with all your guys!!! Cheers mates @Bingetowntv

Yeah, at this point it doesn't make sense for Jason2 to continue to stay. Hes officially been rejected by the people hes there for. So its time to go to the store to get some milk 😂.
I think its a good exercise to ask, who might deserve to be there out of everyone that deserves to be there.
I'd decide this in 1 of 2 ways... I believe the Jason we've been following deserves it the most. Because he seems to have went through the least amount of drama, therefore being the closest to the mental disposition of the Jason that Daniela knows and married. The rest of them have been scared and are ready to murder at the drop of a hat. And thise Jason's are so fundamentally changed forever.
..... Or they can decide this with a Bayonet knife fight 😂
Question NOT asked by anyone yet: will Jason1 feel betrayed by Daniela because she & Jason2 had lots of sex (as Daniela told Blair)--while Jason1 was faithful, and rejected Amanda offer in bed?
Also: is there a universe in which Jason1 and Amanda DID have sex in bed that night?

I am right there with you on OUR Jason1 (THE OG Jason) as being the most deserving but that's because I'm a rider for my homies and love being irrational about it. I can't rationalize why he deserves it more from a moral/ethical point of view though but that's what Episode 9 should be all about.
@@117Derek I don't think an apology needs to be given from Daniela about the sex because there was no logical way for her to even suspect that it wasn't her husband so she deserves a pass. It must be absolutely traumatizing for her once she realized the truth.
100% there were some universes that Jason caved and hooked up with Amanda. Hopefully that couple is out there happy to this day.

The only way this could work is that she sends all of the Jasons packing through the box. Personally, I doubt they can effectively wrap this up in one episode. Kind of disappointing
I agree. Wrapping this up in one episode is going to be a real challenge. Definitely won’t be able to resolve all the clues-and, the over-arching question of “how to reunite Daniela & Charlie with husband/father Jason” seems impossible.
@@117Derek It was announced recently that Dark Matter Season 2 writing room was opened at AppleTV. This doesn't necessarily mean the show will go past 1 season or that it will even be greenlit if Blake did want to continue but just something to consider

@@Bingetowntv While the "idea" deserves more exploration/episodes, this season of 8 (maybe 9) perfect episodes will be extremely difficult to pull off again in a second season. Why not quit while you're ahead?
Nope. This show can easily be wrapped up .. by abandoning the OG world with all the screwed up Jasons ... return to Amanda's world ( due to his feelings for her) ....find Ryan with Amanda ... and get more ampules made ... then finding a new world or even .... evil J's world .... to replace the murdered Danniela, & Ryan ... and evil J trapped in OG world being hunted by multiple Jasons.
