How do you know the seller left it exposed to the sun? Maybe some earlier owner did back in 1972? Some of these books have changed hands so many times! Congrats on the Supes!
The seller told me that he displayed the avengers 1 and the daredevil 1 in an area where the sun would directly hit the comics for just a little bit each day. He also said he bought frames that were supposed to have uv protection. The end result was some pretty bad fading to the comics. 😢
Is it a coincidence that the mega collector (that you mentioned in your video from 3 months ago) also owned a BatMan 3? I assume you got that from that same guy?
Yea I got the Batman 3 from the same mega collector from a few months ago. Same seller as X-men 1, avengers 1, tos 39 and Superman 3. Time for me to recover 😅
my goodness, did the original owner of that AVENGERS #1 display that book in his/her window ?, I have seen sun damage in the past but what he/she did to that classic book is just criminal.

I mean whatever the FMV is on the Avengers 1 and DD1, yours are definitely going to be worth less. A book that faded might as well have brittle pages and take a comparable price hit. People HATE super faded books.

These don’t seem to be magazine style cases. Not exactly sure though. These are my first golden age books.
CGC seems to be grading very harshly lately. --particularly certain flaws like fading!! The Supes & Batman are blue chip keepers!!

I had someone locally clean and press the Batman 3 before sending to CGC

I still cringe at seeing the faded books from the seller. Like I’m actually mad about it. But sweet GA books
