BaaBaaBlackJeep Well, that all depends. First time I played Fallout 3, I encountered raiders with glowing red eyes (this was at midnight, and I had no idea what the hell was going on), and they scared me so badly that I ran into a corner and tried to hide and pick them off one by one. Naturally, this did not work.
+BaaBaaBlackJeep Fallout is (somewhat) scary to me because it could become reality in the future. So I guess it's not the game itself that scares me, just the premise.
Just imagine it: a big EA press event is ending, then all of the sudden, red static appears over the screens, followed by a faded face and a scream, then everything goes to black. Then you hear the first verse of this song, followed by an announcement on the screens, ending with isaac's breathing. That would be AMAZING!!!
I'd imagine if someone was singing this and I was in a mental asylum after a semi-total prisoner escape, someone was watching me in the dark taunting me with their singing moments before my death. . .
This song is so relevant for Dead Space's suprisingly amazing story. The Traveller is Isaac Clark, he is the one who did not know which way to go. He was the one whose mind and soul is broken and lost in the trilogy. And The Spark? None other than Nicole. She was the reason Isaac came to Ishimura, she was the reason Isaac carried on during the chaos of Dead Space 2, she was the guilt that kept Isaac's mind focused against The Markers. That is why despite The Marker using Nicole to control Isaac, it always fails. Isaac's guilt and grief over Nicole's death is The Spark's twinkle and it is a constant reminder of The Marker's malevolence.
Late to the party but honestly I’ve always viewed this in a much more morbid light, not as a song for the first game but as the franchise as a whole. For me at least it tells the story of the Brethren Moon, wandering in the dark reaches of the “dead space” they’ve created from devouring other species to mass extinction. ♫ When the blazing sun is gone, when there nothing shines upon ♫ And in that darkness, they see that little spark that is the Marker activating. That diamond in the sky so to speak. ♫ Then you show your little light, twinkle twinkle all the night ♫ After all, the marker is what draws them to the sentient life they need to consume to survive. Because we rang the dinner bell, the Brethren Moon now know where to head next. ♫ Then the traveler in the dark, thanks you for your little spark ♫ ♫ He could not see which way to go, if you did not twinkle so ♫ Then the more subtle morbid implication in the end with both the long pause and the eventual repeating of the “blazing sun being gone, when there nothing shines upon” line implying humanity is gone, added to the dead space the Moons create. Waiting once again in the dark, waiting for that next spark as the cycle of extinction continues.
This is actually a really beautiful version of the lullaby. The woman's voice is lovely and touching. If somebody removes the background sounds,it can be a good lullaby.
The freakiset part, for me, is the line, "Though I know not what you are, twinkle, twinkle little star." The implication alone is enough to give you goosebumps.
Dude, same! Something about that line -- and especially the delivery of it -- makes it abundantly clear to me that whatever the singer is talking to/about, it's not _actually_ a star... I also find "When the blazing sun is gone ... then you show your little light" creepy, but I can't figure out why.
Whenever I hear this song it makes me feel a sort of existential doom, especially when the song is played over a video of the vast void that is space. It makes me feel alone and desperate in a world where you're just so small and insignificant compared to the big world that's around you, and that no one will hear you, no matter how many times you sing this song to yourself, because in the end, the only thing around you in the void, is just simply... dead space...
And when you're asleep ur waking up in a dead spaceship silent, no one alive, everyone dead, and something is lurking in the dark u can't do anything not even screaming or crying for help....
Well if you think about it, it just sounds scary. But then if you think about the lyrics, it is really talking about when the sun goes away (cuz It's night) and then it's like a dark night (Like cloudy or something, and It's like new moon time), then the one little star glows brightly for the traveler to find his way. Reply with a story of what you think of. What I think of: They're all dead. You're alone on the sprawl. You're dragging your stump legs behind you bleeding out rapidly. You're so delirious you don't mind crawling over the bodies of your friends. You're getting cold but you keep crawling. It's getting darker but you keep going. Blood trails behind you and you're fading fast. You find a closet to hide. You can hear the faint distorted screams of the crew. That's what you want to believe but you're feeling the slow descent into insanity. You just want to take a little nap. It gets dark around you but then you take a deep breath. Illumination. You repeat to stay alive. Force yourself to breathe with your mangled body. Try. You're safe but getting tired. You have a perfect view of a star across the hall through the huge windows on the sides of the sprawl. It's getting harder to stay awake. Taking deep breaths you stay in the light but soon you stop breathing and descend into darkness finally.

I imagine this more for those divers who work on deep sea rigs. Standing alone, thousands of feet below the surface in the deep. It’s pitch black and you’re alone. But there, in the darkness, just outside of the range of your tiny flashlight, are the eyes of real life monsters looking back at you, dwarfing you utterly in their terrific scale. You stand alone in fear, this song and your shuttering breath inside the suit, the only sounds; knowing that you are completely alone. And that you’re being watched…

Imagine waking up because of this voice. Looking everywhere to see where's that music coming from. And then realizing that it's all coming from inside your head.
When I hear this song, I just imagine a woman that was pregnant and she and her baby died (poisoned) in a hospital, the same you are stuck in the middle of the night, the exactly time she died she starts to sing this song with a little doll in her hands, you can see that she is crying, but instead of tears, it's blood, and she looks at you and everything goes black. Finally, It gets to the end of the corridor, And you see a naked, Slender like figure crying in the corner. As they look at the camera, They immediately jump at it with a huge open mouth and a demonic scream.... The screen is black... When I hear this version, I think of it as Alissa Vincent's death song. Since it played briefly as her corpse floated away into the abyss of space. The darkness of space became her grave.
Dead Space was the first full on horror game I played to completion, and only a few months ago. I’ve never had so much fun while being terrified at the same time. Wish more people coulda seen the game in its heyday, maybe we’d have gotten that fourth game.
When I hear this I imagine someone bleeding out alone in a space station. This is what he imagines hearing, basically death's lullaby calling him to close his eyes and sleep (die) but he's fighting it like you would fight the urge to sleep. It beckons him to finally close his eyes and succumb.
The fact that they used the lyrics from the original version of the song makes it even creepier within the context of the game. The “star” is the marker, and the “traveller” is humanity making use of the marker’s knowledge despite not knowing the full extent of its power and motives
Whenever I hear this song I imagine myself in an abandoned castle or hospital that is ruined and with vines crawling on the walls and there's darkness everywhere and no way out...
Most scenes in horror movies they fasten the hearts beating in normal people but put people who are sociopaths and psychopaths get calmer. So you might be mad.
I listened to it during the lockdown period for COVID in the deserted corridors of the retirement home where I work, empty because almost all the elderly had died and the rest had moved elsewhere. Very sick.
When I hear this song, I feel like I was at one of my character’s funeral. His father and best friends sung most of the song, and a few other friends sung as well. The character was some sort of angel, guiding people out the hell they call eterna. Now the character is dead, and the spark that helped wanderers is gone… forever.
i remember hearing this song in a minecraft animation where steve fights herobrine and the only line i remember that sets it apart from the others is “where is kate?” and i’ve been searching for it for years
Something that makes this more creepy is the fact that the song is usually used to show how beautiful space can be but sometimes we don't know the true horrors out there.
The sound of the wind in the background makes this even more creepy. The thought of being on a deralect ship wondering the cold dark hallways waiting for something to come out and attack gives me the creeps.

♫ He could not see which way to go, if you did not twinkle so ♫
Then the more subtle morbid implication in the end with both the long pause and the eventual repeating of the “blazing sun being gone, when there nothing shines upon” line implying humanity is gone, added to the dead space the Moons create. Ready to fire, until they hear him singing this song, dried voice followed by screams of his comrades and friends hollowed body. For he is amongst.. the hollowed

@@sparklingsaii I'd assume it's about a soldier after the war who is having PTSD to it
When I hear this I think of a young mother in like a haunted abandoned hospital singing this and wandering the hospital as if she's singing to her still born child, and she died while giving birth to.
Same
Aw that's kinda sad
I imagine this more for those divers who work on deep sea rigs. Standing alone, thousands of feet below the surface in the deep. It’s pitch black and you’re alone. But there, in the darkness, just outside of the range of your tiny flashlight, are the eyes of real life monsters looking back at you, dwarfing you utterly in their terrific scale. You stand alone in fear, this song and your shuttering breath inside the suit, the only sounds;
knowing that you are completely alone.
And that you’re being watched…
I'm stupid but if you may be referring to the midnight zone (darkest part of ocean I think I don't remember) here is a dark tone what if it's a *anglerfish?*

I remember playing a hybrid of hide and seek and tag with a horror theme with my friends and the attacker had to use this song as a signal that they're coming. It's the stuff of nightmares!
The best version ever. I imagine the dark and creepy scenario to play this song over and over
the star is the Plasma Cutter and the traveler is Isaac.
No if anything issac is the traveler
theonlysurvivor that's what I just said.
Yes but im saying the cutters not the star
why not?
Nolan South AND Alen Xender make no sense also i think it just a song might not even be about isaac
The end.
Thanks for your time reading this, it means too much to me💕
Nice idea
That's what I imagine when I listen to this, except of course as the woman being Nicole (for some reason idk)...
ruclips.net/video/oXpYgtQGQMY/видео.html , i feel weird, is like u are the cretor lol
Every time I hear this version it always tugs on my heartstrings. Man this is a step up from the original lullaby.
I'm going to be a creepy dead ballerina for Halloween and I'm going to use this song at the Halloween dance. It will be a solo dance and only one light shall be on. yup I'll have fun scaring people there XD
You're a girl right?
Do it Boy Or girl i wont assume i wont judge you do it and if You can Record send me da footage i wanna see you scare people :3

You're on E3, A movie announcement is about to happen. As usual, The lights go off for the video, This music starts playing as the camera moves through a hallway full of dead guards and blood everywhere, With someone crying. Finally, It gets to the end of the corridor, And you see a naked, Slender like figure crying in the corner. As they look at the camera, They immediately jump at it with a huge open mouth and a demonic scream.... The screen is black... The SCP Foundation logo slowly appears on the screen with a static like font.
It’s worse when you remember that the shy guy will kill anyone who looks at his face in recordings or pictures :)

Welcome to a whole new level of horror gaming.
RIP Visceral. Loved you.
Listening to this is the same as 100% of the songs that are hits nowadays
Another creepy but cute voiced song is Shiro's woodpecker song (Deadman Wonderland)
Thats it not sleeping in the dark tonight... O_O
Haha thanks for the support
....im in bed listening to this...to help me...sleep...*cough cough* not weird *cough*
I gave this a second look and realized the only thing scary about it is the background, the lyrics alone just look like a cute extension to the song~
I agree.
but she sings like crying i dont know
It's not an extension. This is the original lyrics. Most people just only know the first verse.
Amanda Pike
huh, the more you know~
Amandaishere.jpg
Sweet Amanda, in the Lake
Wonder how much She can take
Cut Her finger, take her ring
Bruise her up, black as sin
Shoot Her down, blind her eye
Bury Her in the night.
See the arms, shake in fear
Here She Is, Amanda Is here
Once upon a time a woman named Amanda married a therapist. A patient of this therapist was obsessed with him and jealous of Amanda, so She kidnapped her, took her to Sorren lake and tortured, blinded, killed and buried her, and also She stole her engagement ring. The cops found Amanda bc She tried to crawl out of her grave and died with only the arms sticking out of the mud. Now Amanda Is here again. Do not let Her be forgotten.

I remember playing dead space for the first time and hearing that song and I didn't expect a jump scare and I jumped out of my seat😂😂😂
When you go down that long elevator and this plays faintly over the static on your comms... Outstanding moment.👌
This version of that age old lullaby is quite chilling and haunting.
When I hear this version, I think of it as Alissa Vincent's death song. Since it played briefly as her corpse floated away into the abyss of space. The darkness of space became her grave.
I sang this song in a haunted house with my friends. they were soo scared
why did you do that they could have died they could have died

The traveler watched them all, his friends and enemies, die one by one, when little star didn't shine...
This type of songs heals me....
I feel power after listening to this❤️❤️
Whenever I hear this song I imagine myself in an abandoned castle or hospital that is ruined and with vines crawling on the walls and there's darkness everywhere and no way out...
It's good to have u back Dead Space
I play this for my daughter and she falls straight to sleep
Can’t wait to play the remake around her
Maybe it's strange, but it calming me. Am I mad or something?
Vivi - chan It is loveable to me. :)
Cute song.
+Vivi - chan This song is the bestest song ever you ain't mad it calms me
Yes Yes you are my friend! XD Im sorry not really i find it calming too
Most scenes in horror movies they fasten the hearts beating in normal people but put people who are sociopaths and psychopaths get calmer. So you might be mad.
viviss Possibly.... Because same.
imagine you wake up at 2am in a dark room and find a little girl chanting this song hidden under your bed
Finally… I FOUND IT!!
I listened to it during the lockdown period for COVID in the deserted corridors of the retirement home where I work, empty because almost all the elderly had died and the rest had moved elsewhere. Very sick.
I now have grandchildren...when ever I hear twinkle twinkle, I can't help smile and think of DS
Please scare your grandchildren with this game. It'd be awesome

A friend of mine sent this to me last night...at 2 in the morning. Love ya, too, buddy -_-

Hey its me again
Its awsome i re descovered this song
When I hear this song, I feel like I was at one of my character’s funeral. His father and best friends sung most of the song, and a few other friends sung as well. The character was some sort of angel, guiding people out the hell they call eterna. Now the character is dead, and the spark that helped wanderers is gone… forever.

i remember hearing this song in a minecraft animation where steve fights herobrine and the only line i remember that sets it apart from the others is “where is kate?” and i’ve been searching for it for years
Whos listening to this in 2020 hoping for another dead space?
Something that makes this more creepy is the fact that the song is usually used to show how beautiful space can be but sometimes we don't know the true horrors out there.

Imagine going outside, its 1943, then, the sun disappeared. And the sirens play this.
This set the tone hella good for a terrifying series. I adore these games to this day
The sound of the wind in the background makes this even more creepy. The thought of being on a deralect ship wondering the cold dark hallways waiting for something to come out and attack gives me the creeps.
