really interesting presentation. my first instinct would also be a pencil. probably pull out the biggest one that i own. next i'd probably throw a tin just in terms of arriving at that beach in that water and not getting hits on a pencil. but i don't think i'd stay on top with it and they never do a great job matching bigger bait. needle is an interesting option. holds the water, casts the necessary distance, and you can keep it on the surface where you see the fish. nice video.
