Getting away can clear the head, especially in such beautiful surroundings. That hammock really comes in handy camping in snow. I noticed you made a bed for Timber using pine branches which I'm sure he appreciated. I always like your music soundtracks. Thanks for sharing.
Travis, beautiful video, thank you for sharing! Spectacular drone footage, really great camping scenes, coffee close-up with Timber; so happy and thankful to see you both! We're out here rooting for you and thankful for your energy! Best wishes!!
Absolutely lovely video, Travis. You are my kind of people. I could sit here and summarize everything you just conveyed but I know it's not necessary. I wish you nothing but inner peace and contentment, brother. Hope to see you on the trail sometime. Take care, Tom.
Thank you! The Wilderness is a magical place. I've lived IN the Rockies for over a decade now and it would take something special to get me out of here. When you find what you love, hold on to it!
Thanks for the video! I've been tromping thru the North Idaho deep snow for the past 3 weeks too. Stay strong, tough times will pass. The Mtns have a way of bringing things into perspective.
As a logger, I spend a lot of my time in the woods. But working there and being there are two different things. Some days I just set my axe and saw down and dislocate myself to a quiet hollow and listen to one of my favorite U2 songs while crying my eyes out. By letting it go, surrendering and dislocating myself I feel much better and go back to the grind. God bless you, and your best friend doggie.
Don't know what is going on but I really enjoy your videos! Sending support and hope! I connect with your montana and idaho trips Thank you for sharing! love the pups too!
I’m pulling for you. I know that by the time things get expressed in words it can be really tough. Hang in there. I know your videos have helped to quiet a lot of turmoil for me at times and inspired me to get out more.
A while back I started to make a different video with this same message, but decided it was a little too personal. While I know there are many people out there who feel the same way, it's nice to know that we can be there for each other. Even if it is "virtually".
Beautiful. I hiked a loop last year around Blossom, Pear, and then out Revett. Blossom Lakes were the first lakes I ever hiked into as a kid and it gave me the itch to keep going. Great video!
There was still 3-4 ft of snow up there and it is not one of our higher passes! I'm getting a chance to experiment with my drone a bit and trying to figure out how to come up with more interesting shots. It's a work in progress. Thanks for checking it out!
YESSSSSS to all.... your beautiful narration brought a tear to my eye... I go out to restore my body and mind and I need to get out soon too.... thank you for this vid... sending strength & peace💙
@@mountainwanderer yes, much of CA is still buried in snow... FS roads and many trails are destroyed or closed... and then there will be runoff so they may not be restored this year... so I will have to head out to AZ or NM... and I hope to do the sawtooths for the first time this year but it will probably be in fall☺
Not only CA is buried, but Utah as well (though not near as bad). I've only done one trip in the Sawtooths, but it was amazing and fall will be a great time to hit it!
Another excellent video. I feel you, I don't know how well I'd do in the day to day without the option to disappear into the mountains for a bit. Extremely thankful for my health and ability to travel amongst them. Hope you feel better man
Back from a few weeks in the Smokies and now catching up on my YT subs. Looked like a great early hiking season outing, all the better remembering the coffee this time. Very poetic narration. Good to see that much snowpack this Spring in your part of the country.
Still a bunch of snow up high - but it is starting to sound like we might jump from winter temps to summer. I am looking forward to getting up into the high country!
At times like these, we must go out singing! Without a song, the day would never end. When things go wrong, a main ain't got a friend ,without a song... Yesterday the Beatles cover of Soldier of Love really hit the spot. Reminded me of my first campout at Priest Lake with Dave.
A timely video for me to be watching just now. About to head up the 395 with my doggo Elvira. Not backpacking this time and not exactly wilderness, but I’ll be finding my little corner of peace as well. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome snow mission! Mountains are the best medicine! I’m sorry to hear you’ve got some things weighing on you. I know I’ve been there. I hope you move through them rapidly with great resolution. You have an open invite if you ever wanna get out. Thanks for making great videos! 🙏 I thoroughly enjoy them!
Thanks, man! I went hunting some real snow as it won't be long around here before it is all gone. Though... you'll have plenty of time to play in the snow down in Utah! 😂
@@mountainwanderer I might chase some corn now that Alta is closed. But I hear the desert calling my name. It’s time! I’ve been on the snow since early November.
@@mountainwanderer with the way things are shaping up here I might have to head in your direction just to get out backpacking in the mountains this year. Keep me posted on the conditions!
Troubled times sure can be difficult but being out there in the woods and mountains heal the soul. When I hit the trail life's problems and stress fall away and are replaced with peace and contentment. :). Hope all is sorted for you soon. Thanks for sharing your night out. :)
@@mountainwanderer I wish I could get out more but this working for a living thing is getting in the way of my outdoor time! haha! Am looking forward to retirement, there will be nothing holding me back then! :) :)
Real happy to hear that the trip did you right and helped get your spirits back to a higher elevation. Wishing you continued uplifting and light; cheers!
Your narrations are some of the best!!! I totally want to get in on a hike with you sometime. I'm doing a hike over memorial weekend from troy oregon along the wenaha, up crooked creek to Melton trail up to Misery, then across to "hard to get to ridge" down to the north fork of the asotin creek then out. It's a nice trek. I know you know that area pretty good. You can join if you got nothing going on that weekend. Anyway, like always, great video my man! Take care!
That sounds like a great route! I keep trying to do long trips in that area and for one reason or another it doesn't happen. I'm going to have to look at your route a little closer. Thanks for the invite. I won't be able to make it on Memorial Day though.
@mountainwanderer hey no problem! I don't do social media but if you have a contact email, I can send ya my exact route with screenshots of the map. It's a really cool route I pieced together over this past year. Has the perfect amount of trail and off trail navigation for a great adventure. It's roughly 50-60 miles by my calculations.
Hope everything is going okay brother and I'm glad you got out in the woods to get some inner peace. Lord knows the lack of sound of the woods in winter and the solitude of winter camping can and will help a fella get grounded. great to see Timber out! Ya know a guy only needs a good woman, good dog, and a great quarterback, and not necessarily in that order. Glad to see you remembered the coffee!😅 Rock on!
I’m glad I didn’t run into snow like this up in ID/MT! A lot of people in the world today don’t understand how peaceful the wilderness combined with some hard work can be for the mind. I’m catching up on videos like this one to help get thru the less-active winter months
Sorry...Love the wilderness...mountains and trees...don't love the charred earth, even covered in boughs. Does your healing rely on scorched ground and hacked trees? Not like you were in survival mode...so why?
Nothing like a little Mother Nature and a good dog to soothe the soul. Well maybe some good coffee too. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
Being out there with my pal Timber is about the most I could ask for! Thanks for checking it out!
