Hello Everyone!
It's been over one year since I have had a Ginetta G40 CUP (not the G40R which has the Duratec 2L engine) despite the Covid and lock down I've spent enough time with it and done a handful track days to give you mine opnion on this car.
In this video I go throught nits and grits of owning a Ginetta G40, what I like and what I don't like it and some of the problems I went through and my opnion on them. It's a feedback from a private owner that drives this car on the road as well as on the race track doing track days.
You have to remember that Ginetta G40 is a race car not road car it was made for the race track so it will demand your full attention all the time, it sounds like bag of loose nuts, and there is always something that will need fixing. I like to call it real lego for petrol heads. If you like cars, speed and working on them then this is for you.
Despite finding a few things annoying I love my Ginetta, it puts a big smile on my face every time I take to the race track or even when I drive in London.

They did the G40r which is the street version. It’s a fantastic car
Such a shame the don’t produce this road version anymore :(

I’m pretty sure you can still buy one from Ginetta, otherwise you can buy a second hand one easily!

there are boat owners that paint their fiberglass boats so they probably knows the best how to deal with fiberglass. Anyway they use special purpose paints to protect against algae and may paint them once a year idk

I could find a lhd road legal one so I bought a corvette c4, it’s very similar (fiberglass, clam shell, lsd, double wishbone front, very basic not a race car though) except much heavier at 1400kg anyway by today “standards” it’s ok :)
Corvette sounds good too! 1.4ton is ok as long as you have engine power to push it
