Jannatul Baqi : Cemetery across Masjid Nabawi
Jannat al-Baqi (also spelt Jannat ul-Baqi) is a famous cemetery in Madinah, located right across from the Masjid al-Nabawi. It is well known since many of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
relatives and companions are buried here, and due to its sanctity. Its name means “Tree Garden of Heaven”. Many traditions relate Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him issuing a prayer every time he passed the cemetery.
Its the most blessed and spiritual graveyard in the world: Jannatul-Baqi, wherein lie a great number of companions, wives, daughters and other family members of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
Allah’s Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wassalam said: "Peace be upon you, O abode of believers. What you were promised will come to pass tomorrow at a fixed time. We shall, Allah willing, soon join you.
O Allah! Grant forgiveness to the people who are buried in al-Baqi’ al-Gharqad." ►{Narrated by Imam Muslim}
In the time of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, this grave yard was thought to be outside of Madina but now it is adjacent to Masjid an Nabwi. Al-Baqi‘ is a powerful place.
Other cities consider it their pride to host a single saint; but here there are hundreds.
Allah’s Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wassalam said: "I am the first for whom the Earth will burst open, then Abu Bakr and then Umar. I shall then come to those who are buried in al-Baqi’ and
they will be gathered along with me. After that I shall wait for the people of Mecca so as to be gathered among the inhabitants of the two sacred cities." ►{Narrated by Imam Tirmidhi}

-All of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)’s wives, except for Khadijah and Hazrat Maimuna May Allah be Pleased with them are resting here.
-Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)’s son Ibrahim May Allah Ta’Ala be Pleased with him.
-Hazrat Fatima Zahra, Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)’s daughter May Allah be Pleased with her.
-3 Blessed Daughters (Zaynab, Umme Kulthum and Ruqayya) (may Allah be pleased with them)
-Many of prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)’s aunts.
Hazrat Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib, uncle of prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.
Hazrat Hasan ibn Ali, Grandson of prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.
-Ali ibn Husayn, Great-grandson of prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.

Hazrat Imam Malik ibn Anas Alayhi Rahma.
-The Great Mujahid Imam Shamil Alayhi Rahma.
-Hazrat Uthman ibn Affan May Allah Be Pleased With Him and Many other companions of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.
Imam Malik rahmatullah alayhi (a resident of this blessed graveyard) puts the number of sahabah buried here as 10,000.
