If the O'Discolls are not on the hillside waiting when you arrive then you will need to save and reload or run out of the area and back again to see if they spawn.
Very interesting. So this how i unintentionally found the Brindle in the middle of Twin Stack Pass without a rider.. by triggering a sort of error in a supposed random encounter.
Yes there is an event there too - if you spot them before they see you, you can wait from them to get bored of waiting to ambush you. They will eventually ride off and you can chase after the guy and steal his horse. I also did a video on that one too.
I love the Brindle. I think you can also sneak up on the O'Driscolls in the burnt out forest who are waiting to ambush Arthur as well and they do the same thing the horse if you follow as they ride off.
Never tried the no combat approach, but it looks sweet to pull off. I like the fact that the horse is just standing there with the rider gone. Like finding a Ferrari middle of nowhere with the key in ignition and a full fuel tank.
@@Jules-GamerGrandma I just park the horse on the tracks and walk to camp. Come back later after I hear a train to collect the saddle. When you haven't done the hosea mission, the stable only sells you Kentucky saddlers, Morgans and Tennesee walkers.
Yeah, I'm like why would I do that? I quite like that Mahogany Bay T Walker, and the Hosea Mission is so easy to do. You can get a free Chocolate Roan Dutch Wamblood out of it too.@@Jules-GamerGrandma
I already had that encounter🤦♂️ so I got it from the stranger/race challenge. Tied her up, tracked down the horse, bonded with it to level 1, stabled it and saddled it up, switched horses - and it’s STILL crazy agitated! I don’t want a horse like that… *reloaded and it’s calm now😅
it may be that these events are not *supposed* to repeat, but I am sure I am not the only one here who has had "unique" events repeat within the same game, sometimes multiple times
This one is only repeatable if you don’t technically trigger it. So because we sneak up and wait for them to ride off that means the event is NOT triggered. If they call their friends and start shooting you that means the event IS triggered- if that makes sense!
I apparently got very lucky. This has been my horse from almost the beginning and I love it. I was just riding on the road and noticed a horse standing there with a saddle on. I was going for high honor so carefully went to look to see if there was a rider nearby and there was no one. I checked the horse and noticed the stats seemed quite high. Jumped on, no one came for me, and that's it. I've not seen anyone relay the same story so seems just random luck. Great horse.
Yes I’ve seen that happen in other peoples playthroughs when they just stumble across it. I’ve seen it happen at twin stacks too where there is a random brindle just standing around. Drives me nuts though when they just pass it by it’s a beautiful horse !
@@Jules-GamerGrandma , thank you for replying. I'm glad to know you have also just seen it sitting there. Such a great game. So much depth, variation, and randomness. :)
it happens because there are O'Driscoll ambushes in a couple of locations that only trigger from a certain direction. if you come in from a different direction, the horse will be standing there alone. Another video showed the ambushes can even happen before the Kieran mission mentioned here.
I tend to do the Hosea mission then open up the map via the rail tracks grabbing the gold and lancaster, but on the way from SD to Rhodes I try to trigger the horse race with the woman riding the brindle, win the race and steal hers lol.
I have a suggesting how to get also as I was going to hunt the panther for my pouch and I was strolling through the thing through roads the lady who challenges you with that horse the brindle don't challenge her let her go ahead because I thought there were lemoyne raiders about the robbed the stagecoach but she was in front of me and I filed her but kept back so won't challenge me to erase and as soon as she was ahead of me you know where your new hideout and chapter 3 is a little bit around the bend she got off the horse and a horse was there so I took it when I was hunting the panther so I had two horses with me
I’ve seen this happen with the o Driscoll’s too near there various ambush points but the only one I’ve been able to replicate on purpose so far is the one near riggs
I've already done the encounter for the ambush, killed the horse on accident, didn't pay attention to the encounter nor who killed bc I almost died and when it was over the horse was dead when I found jt Will I still get it even after I did the encounter/re do the encounter despite it being done already?
I’m afraid not. This encounter only plays out once if you fully interact with it. You can steal the same horse from the woman who races you near Rhodes if that helps? But don’t worry too much there are other good horses out there. I’ve done videos on getting quite a few of them.

Thank you, worked right after I did the Kieran mission.
Brilliant! Thanks for the feedback :)
Interesting. I'll have to try this. Quite fond of the Brindle and it's cool that you can get more than one.

Just started playing again.. using all of your gameplay methods
That’s great so happy to hear how much I am helping 🤗🤗
You can activate the stables without doing the hosea mission... u just have to kill your primary horse
Was not aware of that 😊 just assumed it would just give a replacement horse. Don’t like the idea of killing a horse on purpose though 😂

"Restart" the game and the horse will calm down.
Thank you, i got it on my first try

Yes thats always an option. Does she spawn again after though so you can get the speed boost from her after you win the race a couple of times?
