Hi, I recently repotted my string of spades into a new clear nursery pot. I combined my 2 plants together. I put the new pot right at the window where one of the previous ones was. The plant is growing more roots and I don’t see any root rot but it’s completely not flowering anymore and I am getting a LOT of yellow leaves. I initially tried watering more without improvement so now I’m watering less but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Do you have any suggestions?

      Hi,
Thanks for watching and your question. String of Spades only flower for a few month and then stop until flowering season occurs again. I wouldn't worry about the plants stopping to flower.
The yellowing leaves are more of a concern. If there is no root rot you may consider watering more and covering the plant with a clear cover yo increase the humidity area it. Let me know how your plant goes.

I have never been successful doing this. They always turn to mush and rot. I have probably spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars trying to get it right. I will keep trying until I figure it out. This would rot for me guaranteed. I’m completely stumped why. Can you tell me the exact brand of soil mixes that you are using, maybe that’s my problem. I will try anything.

      Hi Kelly,
I use osimocote premium potting mix and Osmocote Catci mix and Brunnings Horticultural Charcoal.
If if your having issues with rot have you tried water propagation with the chains? Also don't cover the plant if your finding rotting is occuring and let the soil completely dry before watering and reduce the water amount so soil is only moist.
Keep on preserving you will get there. Thanks for watching the content and commenting. Happy String if Spades Gardening ❤️

Have you tried doing this in sphagnum moss. You may have better luck. You will have to water them more since it dries faster

I have never thought to try sphagnum but I will definitely give it a try. Thank you for the idea.
