    Hi! I’m currently struggling with white spots on my teeth (specifically from demineralization). In my situation, I believe my enamel is weekend and demineralized. This can be caused by poor teeth hygiene (I.e not brushing your teeth at night), lack of nutrition, and smoking. I’ve noticed a HUGE difference so far, here’s what’s helped:
    1. You HAVE to keep your mouth salivated
    - this is different from simply drinking water (which is important too) because saliva contains important minerals needed for your tooth enamel.
    2. Use a PRO ENAMEL toothpaste to strengthen your enamel
    3. Order or ask your dentist for MI paste. This is the topical way of physically putting the minerals back onto your teeth. It’s similar to toothpaste except you put it on after you brush your teeth and you don’t rinse it out
    4. Try to eat healthier. This is a bit more vague but try to get as many vitamins and minerals as you can while your teeth repairs itself.
    5. If you suffer from dry mouth while sleeping, try to get one of those mouth guards for grinding teeth and/or use mouth tape.
    - the goal is to keep your mouth NATURALLY salivated to increase your enamel’s mineral content.
    6. AVOID BLEACHING/WHITENING YOUR TEETH
    - ever notice how on some before and after teeth whitening photos, the white spots look worse and more pronounced after the treatment? This is because you’ve literally BLEACHED your damaged enamel and now your teeth are dehydrated. Please please please avoid activated charachaol, whitening strips, etc until your enamel is fully healed.
    ****DISCLAIMER******
    - I’m not a doctor or dentist and am not giving any professional medical advice! Please contact your medicinal personnel first.
    I’ve literally been researching this and experimenting for two years. My dentist wasn’t too sure of what it was and a lot of home remedies didn’t work for me but I have a great routine and results now! Ask me any questions, I’ll try to answer. Don’t give up hope, you got this :)
    **I would say the most important tip out of all of this is to keep your mouth naturally salivated and to not whiten your teeth**

      They are very common. Often times, the white spots come from areas that plaque bacteria gave off acid. .. around the brackets of braces is an example. Really important to keep those areas strong and plaque free so make sure to have a plan with your dentist to prevent them from turning into decay

    Hi! I stumbled upon this video after searching the web and finding lots of sites with vague answers to this problem or websites made to sell you a product, I'm really glad I found this video. I'm impressed that years after this video was posted you keep replying to comments asking for help, such a nice thing to see.
    As for myself, I've had braces before, and I've felt that the area on the edges of my front teeth are more transparent/whiter, maybe because unproper brushing, however it looked good. Today I tried crest whitening strips (8 levels higher, ones certified by the ADA), and after 30 minutes I ended up with some very noticeable white spots.
    I didn't know why or how this happened at the time, but for now I think I'll wait 3-7 days to see if my teeth rehydrate, and depending on how well that goes I'll likely go to my dentist so they can tell me how to proceed best. Let me know if there's anything else I should do.
    Thank you so much for answering to all of the comments, have a nice day :)

      Hi and thanks for watching! So many of us have white spot lesions that show up really bright when we whiten our teeth. In most cases, its safe to complete your whitening kit and then allow your teeth to rehydrate and let those spots settle back in to be less obvious. There are some in-office treatments that you may want to ask your dentist about. One of them is ICON resin infiltration or something similar. We wish you all the luck!

      It can be frustrating because sometimes the spots are down into the enamel and even the second layer of the tooth. It could be compared to a "scar" that doesn't go away no matter how great you take care of them. They can also show up more when your teeth are dehydrated though. We understand why some people decide to have their dentist come up with a plan to fix the teeth with some type of bonding or veneer.

    • @BURSTOralCareTV
      @BURSTOralCareTV  4 года назад

      Using whitening products can "dry out"enamel (dehydrate) and cause some of these white spots to show up more..... but usually it's temporary. Brushing well keeps the teeth clean and can actually prevent some of these types of spot from getting more damaged :). As with any product or procedure, consult with your dentist before using whitening products to make sure you don't have active decay.

    Hello ! I’m 15 and I have white spots on my teeth. I discovered these white spots on my teeth when I had my braces removed about 2 months. According to my dentist, I had developed these because I was not brushing well enough when I had my braces on. I came across a video that suggested that mixing baking soda with toothpaste would help break down the white spots or whiten my teeth. Does this actually work ? Also, are there any home remedies that I can use to slowly get rid of the white spots ?

    • @BURSTOralCareTV
      @BURSTOralCareTV  4 года назад +1

      Hi Maria! Some of the life hacks out there dont really make the spots go away but they do make the tooth around the spots brighter therefore the white spots blend in better. Think of those white spots like a permanent scratch on the tooth where plaque acids etched the enamel. You can keep them from getting more damaged by cleaning your teeth really well, staying away from foods and drinks that contain lots of acids and using products that strengthen the outer layer of the tooth. It will be up to your dental team to help you choose what kind of paste works best for your unique situation. It might even be one that you brush on and avoid rinsing with water so it can soak in.

    • @BURSTOralCareTV
      @BURSTOralCareTV  2 года назад

      White spots do not usually go away without some type of intervention but often times, they stay just the same for years. They do need to be kept very stable, though so whatever toothpaste you use, make sure to let it work for you. Ask your dental professional which one is the BEST for you. Many dental pros on our team refrain from rinsing with water after brushing to allow the minerals in the paste soak in. Again, it's best to have a dentist see what caused the white lines and if they recommend any special pastes or treatment.

      Although we can be here to encourage you, as one can imagine, we can't give specific dental or medical advice so the BEST way to get help is to see your dentist.
      There are some patients that have products recommended by their hygienist or dentist to help with staining and many find that getting their teeth cleaned every 3 months helps as well.

    • @BURSTOralCareTV
      @BURSTOralCareTV  3 года назад

      White areas that can be scraped off sounds more like plaque or tartar... plaque is a build up of bacteria that shows up as a white or yellowish film. The longer the soft plaque sits on the teeth, the harder it becomes to scrape off and it then turns into tartar.. tartar needs to be removed on a regular basis by a dental hygienist.

      Anytime your nose is stuff or you breath through your mouth, the teeth can get dehydrated. Hopefully those white spots will fade back once you start feeling better.

      Some of them will definitely help the white spots blend in with surrounding tooth structure ... and keep them from breaking down further but it all depends on how demineralized those spots happen to be. You may need something prescription strength that you get from a dentist.

    Hello. Im 15 and have white spots on my teeth. I did suffer with bulimia and I noticed my teeth are also becoming translucent at the bottom of my teeth and more sensitive. I saw a video that said to drink green tea to rid of white spots, is that true? Multiple people said it works, but I would like an experts opinion, such as you.

    • @BURSTOralCareTV
      @BURSTOralCareTV  4 года назад

      Generally green tea has health benefits but tea is typically acidic so it's important to rinse your mouth with water to bring the pH back to normal faster. Tea is also known for staining teeth darker. The best course of action is to have a dental exam so they can monitor your teeth and find products made specifically for damaged and thin spots like you described. We hope you are happy and healthy otherwise now.

    • @BURSTOralCareTV
      @BURSTOralCareTV  4 года назад

      Green tea without sugar is a great drink with a lot of health benefits and a pH that is friendly to the mouth. It has naturally occurring minerals and its pretty well documented too for reducing bacteria that cause cavities. Preventing white spots is key here so we wouldn't want to assume that those demineralized spots will fade away completely with home remedies. Always a good idea to see a dentist to determine the level of damage and if it should be treated or monitored over time.
