whats the point in Solji wearing a mask when u can almost see everything lol
but they couldn't guess who she is, so they couldn't see everything, lol
well it was the pilot episode so maybe they were still in the midst of working out the kinks for the masks and stuff. either way they couldnt guess who she was so it didnt matter anyway.
Korean people is really same and they have many idol. because of this they couldn't guess Solji

ryucharie33 this was when EXID was just gaining attention and even then people would only recognize Hani or the song up and down. None of the other members were on the radar until Solji started to appear on singing shows to show that EXID's not just a visual group, but a powerful vocal group too
Can people please stop saying things like "Only Ailee can sing this song well" or "No one can sing as well as Ailee"... Each singer has his/her own style and voice type, this is originally Ailee's song, it was made for her voice! I think Solji and Bora did a great job COVERING this song! There are songs that Ailee can't sing as well as these two and vice versa. Why argue about who's better when you can just pick your favorites and support them. Sorry, I had to rant...

No, guys, there's no way to compare... Bora's voice is so rich and deep in sound, while Solji's voice is bright and powerful; but both have great vocal control and projection; both are completely delightful to the ear,! Just let's let's be honest, this song would OBVIOUSLY suit Solji's voice better, if the song has more like Beyonce's Halo, or a deep-sounding song like that, it'd have fit Bora's voice better. Both have amazing voices, it's the song choice that was kind of more flattering in one than the other, but yet, both won my heart; those are really enjoyable voices. Congrats for both! For me, this is a tie.

omgsushiify shin bora. I think solji should have controlled her voice better, after all its a duet meant for 2 people, she shouldn't be singing so overpoweringly, with the thought that both singers should be of equal calibre

For your info, Kim boa is one of SPICA's main vocalist. Her singing level is as high as them too but with different style.

Sung at a lower key (I think) but then again, we're lucky to even see a cover of Ailee's song. Shin Bo Ra is great as usual and Solji further solidifies her new found fame with EXID.. I've always known she's a great singer given her background of singing demos so really happy for her..

I came back after viewing Hani's masked singer performance. If you are not a fan of Hani or you think she can't sing I suggest watching it. She also sounds like some of the jazz singers from days gone by.

I agree. A good singer is not necessarily the one who has more powerful voice/higher range. I do like Solji, but Shin Bora's voice is calm and detached. She will be more suitable for less "mainstream" and less cheesy genres such as jazz, blues, even country.
Imagine when I just want to hear some soothing and calming music at night, the emotion in Solji's voice might be too much for me.

After listening to this 50 times it's clear to me now that Solji was objectively better. Her stage presence is much larger and you can hear give it her all. Though bora is good, her voice is suited for giving a bottom line to a main vocal e.g, Solji.

How can you compare them in that performance when they're singing in English, which obviously gives Ailee a massive advantage. Yes Ailee has a better technique, nonetheless, Solji's voice is more pleasant to many people. I can listen to her sing all day, when I get tired of Ailee after a couple of songs.

The purpose of mask singer is so that we can judge the singer base on voice and voice only. Not caring about background, identity, popularity. When Solji hits the high notes at 2:25 that is when I got the goose bumps. She start to stand out and break away and I believe the win comes from here. Just like Taeyeon, the parts she adds to Gee makes the song better.

Recently she also post on her IG story showing she was holding Ailee’s ticket concert. So no need to discredit any when they are supporting each other
